Lovely Chinese takeaway- always happy with the food, very friendly too

Where have all the Chinese restaurants gone? We travelled from Berkhamsted to what is now probably our nearest Chinese. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. We ordered set meals and the variety of the dishes was spectacular. I won’t enumerate all the dishes but suffice it to say they arrived piping hot, well presented and were delicious. My favourites were the Kung Po prawns, and the chicken with cashew nuts. Although, thinking about it, I also loved the satay chicken, the crispy beef, the duck, hoi sin and pancakes, the prawns with green pepper in black bean sauce and the sweet and sour pork. The special rice was great and I loved the fact that we were given bowls as well bc as plates. We washed it all down with a tasty Sauvignon blank. There were four of us eating the £35 set menu but we probably could only eat just over half of what was served. Without hesitation our server packaged up all the uneaten food for us to enjoy later. The only downside is that because the food is so good and varied I eat far too much and my bathroom scales groaned at me the following morning.

Dining at Omboo was an absolute delight! The food was nothing short of exquisite—every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was impressively quick, even faster than what we’ve experienced at The Shard, which truly exceeded our expectations. What made the evening even more special was how the waitress went above and beyond for my dad's birthday. Her attention to detail and thoughtful gestures created such a memorable celebration for him, and we were so touched by her kindness. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant were lovely—elegant yet welcoming—and the cleanliness was impeccable. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining both the food quality and the space itself - we were speechless. We will definitely be coming back!

Small Chinese takeaway, not that expensive and the taste is very nice.

Was quite nice but chicken was pink in the sweet and sour chicken balls so wouldn't get again..

I’m traumatised at what they gave us tonight as a takeaway go on off chicken foul smelling food undercooked omelette then I asked for a refund and they handed over 5 pound out of 62 pound over the counter and swore at me and made my kids cry I’m so upset and don’t no how this buisness is running I’m calling trading standards in the morning I have images of the food there providing. Dodge going here Sam’s and china express is lovely however we thought we would give this one a second chance as we was passing both times been vile

Absolutely rubbish and very rude once I placed an order I have been told I made a mistake okay? Second time third time no extremely rude service and the food is not good at all shall not be using never ever again.

The first time I have tried take-away from here and it was AMAZING. The best Chinese I’ve had in a long time, I will definitely go there again! The food tasted so fresh and has put a big smile on my face.

If you like jelly like chicken and gristly duck , the entire dish not just one piece get ordering .... the worst Chinese I have EVER had.... it was disgusting.!

Worst Chinese ever, inedible and went in the bin.

The website showed the restaurant was open on 14th February 2023. I ordered a meal for 3 people which was confirmed on the website and further confirmed by text to my mobile phone stating that collection would be available 25 minutes later. My wife went to the restaurant at the appointed time to find that the restaurant was actually closed. We subsequently ordered a meal from another Chinese restaurant in Harpenden with less menu choice and ended up eating much later than planned.

We have been going to sams for years and never found them so awful .. They have missed 1 dish twice from 2 of our orders now and their attitude when calling up about it , is just RUDE .. They had charged us for the dish and we spend over £40 every order !! We will NOT BE using sams NO MORE !! They need to know how to treat their customers

Absolutely brilliant service. Very kind people and the food was excellent! Sometimes we fancy Chinese food other times just a simple fish and chips both options are delicious. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

Agree with other reviewers. Very dry. Tasted old and reheated. I recall when egg fried rice used to be white....
