Sam's Take Away in St Albans

We have been going to sams for years and never found them so awful .. They have missed 1 dish twice from 2 of our orders now and their attitude when calling up about it , is just RUDE .. They had charged us for the dish and we spend over £40 every order !! We will NOT BE using sams NO MORE !! They need to know how to treat their customers

Never had a problem with Sam’s before, it’s always been our favourite Chinese. But yesterday evening, we ordered via just eat for a delivery at 5.30 for a 6.30 delivery. It sadly never arrived. After 3 1/2 hrs waiting we were forced to cancel the order. We tried ringing but the phone just went to answerphone. Why take the orders if you can’t fulfill them? We went to one closer, and got or food within 20 mins. Lesson learnt!

Been ordering from SAM for few years and never been disappointed. The food is tasty and fresh, the service is great and food is delivered fast- what else do you need?

Whatever happened to Sam's. When Sam was there, it was the best Chinese takeaway for miles around. We had friends that would come over on a Saturday night just to have a Sam's takeaway. We tried it a couple of times after Sam went. It was never the Sam. Very sad!

Often have a delivery from Sam's and never disappointed! Food is delicious and always delivered on time.

There is Excellent food here. Hot, nourishing and tasty. Love the Duck, Prawn Toasts and King Prawn Chow mien.

Sam's - used to be the best Chines takeaway ever - until Sam retired. People visited us from far and wide, just to have a Sam's takeaway. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, we tried it again recently. Never again!

We've been ordering takeaway Chinese from Sams regularly for the past 3 years and we've never had a bad meal. Great food, incredibly friendly staff and delivery drivers and very reasonable prices.

Chicken Chow Mein goes hand in hand with the fried duck rolls. Duck is quite crispy and full of flavour.

Delicious extra spicy beef chow mein egg fried rice good quality...good delivery time too reasonable prices too ....always a convenient when we need a delivery service ...

Good Chinese take away have used on regular basis and will continue to do so. Good service and good food .

Having had terrible food from Paya and Tim’s table - I tried this place out of desperation. It’s lucky that Just Eat don’t show you photos as I wouldn’t have ordered if I knew it looked like this - but the food is great - the ribs were a little dry and and hot and sour soup a little sweet - but everything else was more than satisfactory.

We had a takeaway from Sam’s last night, it was so very very good! Very well cooked, fresh and no ‘slimyness’ as you get with some Chinese sauces. Sweet and sour chicken was so crispy with succulent chicken breast and arrived as if straight from the fryer! Quarter duck very crispy and meaty! Could not fault any of our dishes. Very reasonable as well. Will definitely be making this a regular, forget any other Chinese in St Albans, including Po Chi and Chinese Express, this is THE best by far! Well done to all at Sam’s!

We always order from SAMS and have never had a bad experience. People who work in the takeaway are always friendly and polite and food is prompt and tasty. Also the portions are great value for money! Best Chinese in London Conley area

Not fast but stil arrives hot, great value. good food, mebue can be a bit confusing, you can pay £1 for extra sause but the dish does not have sauce

Just ordered Chinese food. Beef curry and some noodle dishes. Did the top fall off the garlic pot? So bland and not very nice. Noodles were dry. I can't comment any more, just binned the food. As they say, you only try it once.

Good food both hot and tasty and always friendly ans helpful with suggestions etc. This is a very reliable Chinese take-away restaurant that will deliver locally quite happily and not expensive.

Mi pareja y yo vivimos a la vuelta de la esquina y para un chino es precioso. La comida siempre es deliciosa, caliente y muy rico! Los precios son un poco cara, pero vale la pena por las porciones que te dan, ya que nunca parece ser capaz de terminarla. El personal es muy amable y educado.

Me apetecía chow mien, así que pasó por aquí por primera vez no sabiendo que era el lugar más bajo en el ranking de alimentos en la calle. Albans. El personal era excelente y bastante educado. Mi comida fue simple - Pollo chow mien extra con chili y una porción de verduras en salsa de frijol negro, así que no podría ir mal y estaba muy bien. Estoy de acuerdo en que es un poco caro.

Nos hemos mudado recientemente a Londres Colney, así que este chino una oportunidad. Por desgracia, la comida llegó más de una hora tarde, helada y sabía horrible, incluso una vez recalentado. Visité Sams en agosto por una comida para llevar, el Ladie'en el teléfono era increíblemente groseros, gritando por el teléfono, tratando de Rush conmigo por teléfono y, una vez que había pagado por teléfono entonces ella colgó conmigo tan pronto como ella tenía mi dinero. Como para el pollo, no sé donde lo tienen pero no hay ninguna manera de la tierra que fue pollo. Sabor como procesadas excremento. Me hizo mal para los próximos 3 días, repitiendo en dejar los más sabor faul en mi boca, y como estómago. Es justo decir que no vamos a China Sams nunca jamás, lo que es una pena, ya que cuando Sam propiedad del restaurante que era preciosa, claramente como nueva dirección ha tomado el nivel de respeto por los clientes ha disminuido.
