Ordered a Special fried rice, sweet and sour with battered chicken balls. The special fried rice was perhaps the driest, most tasteless special fried rice I have ever ordered. The battered chicken balls were almost all batter, it wasn't terrible but was bland. The sweet and sour sauce was the only redeeming factor, it was okay.

As many others have said, Lees Cottage is really rather good. Fast efficient ordering. Pick it up later and pay cash only. Reasonably priced, piping hot and every dish is delicious. Our new favourite Chinese takeaway.

Been going here for years and always had amazing food! Definitely recommend, the staff are always friendly and really reasonably priced.

For staple food, I ordered noodles with soy sauce, casserole with tomato and beef rice noodles, casserole with chicken rice noodles, braised beef noodles, beef jerky noodles, and stir-fried chicken noodles. All kinds of noodles are very good and have a good texture. They are more like the taste of northern restaurants. The side dishes are very spicy and have a unique taste

Great food definitely recommend. Great staff too. Just in shop feels like been built 100 years ago :)

Waited 45mins to get our simple food order delivered (after asking how long it's going to take) because a table that came in 10-15mins after us got served the fry ups before us (30mins) by then, the young girl that served us was pleasant (I think new as had to keep going off to get answers) other young lady grumpy & not happy! My grandsons sandwiche was stale & hard around the outside (mine too tasted little stale) i pointed this out to the owner on which he shook his head in disbelief, so i gave him the sandwiche to which he replied it was crust (this certainly wasn't crust) anyway his attitude stank, no apology, nothing, just a rude and angry person. I will not return as places like this do not deserve my money.

Called in for a meal as all local eateries were packed out. My wife had her usual chicken chow mein, which she enjoyed. However my chicken szechuan and fried rice was bland. Lots of chicken and veg but the sauce was watery and lacked the spiciness I would expect. No egg in the fried rice. At home, for about £5 cheaper, we would have had a far tastier meal. It was not until I began this review I realised we had also been overcharged by £1. Having seen some of the positive reviews, I can only assume, this was a bad day in the kitchen. Thankfully, unlikely to be in this area again so won't have to consider a return visit

This takeaway is definitely the BEST in the area. IGNORE the petty, ignorant, and ill-informed reviews - the food here is AMAZING! Anyone criticizing it clearly does not appreciate what quality is when they see it. (probably have never been to China or Hong Kong, to know what Chinese food is really like - I have!) Great service and always seeking to improve and expand their menu options. If you want high-quality food, then you will not go wrong with this takeaway.
