Having looked at the great reviews we thought we would try this place out as our old favourite takeaway just wasn’t the same anymore. The young man that took my order, and who took payment and gave us our food was very chirpy, smiley, and polite! The foot was spot on, we had our go-to king prawn chowmein, couldn’t fault it - chefs kiss! Great prices too. Will be returning.

Thought the food was great the first time we used the takeaway. This time the wrong items sent, the soup was not nice. Received chips and an egg dish instead of special fried rice. To add insult to injury the chips were cold. I would recommend giving the number of the dish AND the dish when ordering to avoid confusion. chicken Satay was really salty.

Nice crispy chilli beef but salt and chilli chicken/chips needed more flavour (chilli). Prawn crackers were mostly stale. Was expecting more due to the reviews but would say this was about average - pricing was better than other local options however

This by far the best Chinese iv had in years. Highly recommended. Food always hot and full of flavour. The meet is always tender. It's just hevan on a plate

This is the best Chinese we’ve had in years! Firstly, the gentlemen that took my order was very polite and thorough. The food was delivered promptly and piping hot. The aromatic duck was crispy, the hoisin sauce was nice and thick ( not like the runny awful stuff you get from most takeaways ). The Beef chow mein was full of tender beef and lots of delicious noodles and veg. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and had plenty of sauce and veg. EVERYTHING was delicious! Thank you ever green 🙌

I’ve had take out from here for 6+years, never a problem. But tonight I ordered crispy duck, haven’t had that for a while, it’s always been really good, and lots of crispy bits in it, like you expect, but tonight, no sign of any crispness! I called them to let them know,all I got was ‘that’s how it’s always done’, ! I wasn’t asking for a refund, just to let them know that their crispy duck isn’t!

We only recently discovered Evergreen after a recommendation from a friend and have since ordered from here twice. It definitely won't be the last time however, as both meals were excellent. Both orders arrived quickly, were hot, and tasted great. Portions were a good size and there was the right amount of meat/veg etc. in each dish. Particularly enjoyed the crispy shredded beef! Overall really impressed.

No atmosphere as it is a takeaway, however, the attitudes of the staff are excellent. Food is nice and always cooked how we ask for it, 10 / 10.

All the food is incredible, never too greasy, never too dry, chinese perfection. I would recommend them whole heartedlym one thing is they do NOT TAKE CARDS it is cash only.

Since happy phoenix changed hands we have struggled to find chinese food that suits our taste! A friend recommended evergreen and I'm so glad they did! Iv had 4 take out delivery's in the last 2 months and every time its taster than the first! My only complaint and its only a minor is that happy phoenix sold curry with rice and some other dishes with rice at the same price for just a curry at evergreen. And evergreen is smaller so quite expensive for the potion size. But hey the foods Great and keeps us wanting more! Compliments to the cooks!

Now get takeaway from here weekly and have never been disappointed. Best takeawsy hot & sour soup I've ever had their chicken satay is sublime.

Nice food but went and picked it up as delivery time was over one and a half hours, yet I could pick up in 20 minutes

After our local Chinese in the Rylands changed hands and not for the better, was recommended by a mate to try Evergreen, must say it's the best Chinese we have had in ages, the house special in black bean sauce is lovely and the wife loves the Cantonese sweet and sour. Always busy so order early. Highly recommended

Just started using evergreen as our local Chinese has been poor since the takeover. Food is lovely and portions generous, best to order early as the waiting time can be long, but well worth it, the house special with black bean sauce the best ive had.

ORDERED VEGETARIAN CHOW MEIN AND EGG FRIED RICE AS I WAS VEGETARIAN BUT THEY DELIVERD WITHOUT EGG AND WITHOUT VEGETABLES - unfortunately I felt a bit cheated on this - also the delivery took one hour without warning

A very good quality Chinese takeaway with a very good choice. I have asked for certain dishes to be made vegetarian and they have never had an issue with doing it which proves that everything is cooked fresh.

My wife and I usually stay away from British Chinese food (we are Americans, where a different style is expected). However this place is truly wonderful. It isn't covered in globs of sweet, corn-starch-thickened goop. It is simple, well seasoned (but not over-seasoned) and good. Also, the portions are HUGE. Even our toddler loved it. We will be ordering again and again.

We’ve been using Evergreen on and off for years, and we think it’s back to its best! We ordered on a Friday night, it even came 10 minutes early. Ordering was easy, they were friendly and clear about prices and delivery times. The crispy duck pancakes were as good as could be. We also ordered a sweet and sour pork which was great, the batter wasn’t glacky, the pork was not gristly or really fatty. Also proper egg fried rice, not steamed rice with some bits of omelette thrown in. At Evergreen it feels like the food has seen a wok and not just been sitting in a giant vat then heated up again. We weren’t sure if Evergreen had lost its edge over other Chinese take-outs in the area. But, if Friday’s delivery was anything to go by, they are the best out of the lot. For a really tasty and enjoyable Chinese try Evergreen, it’s a hidden little local gem.

I had always get my takeaway from another establishment until they recent closed down. I tried several others but they didn't match the standard of my previous. The Evergreen was recommended to me by a friend. I visited the establishment and the young man behind the counter was extremely helpful enquiring as to what I liked and making some recommendations of his own. I bit the bullet and ordered my normal Beef in Black Pepper Sauce. I ordered by phone and delivery was prompt within the 30 minute window I was given. Must say it was a really decent dish on a par if not better than my previous establishment. It's a little more expensive and the delivery free limit of £17 is a bit high Will defo be returning to try some other dishes

First try and food was average. Spring rolls were just full of bean sprouts with very little meat. The rest of the food was rather tasteless. With so many other takeaways to choose from I wouldn't return.

Not many Chinese takeaways open Monday so thought I would give it a try. Beef in peking sauce was like beef stew, thick, grey and not tangy at all. Apart from that every other dish was really nice. So would definitely use again but not order peking.

We are lucky enough to live locally, so we do tend to order takeaway from the Evergreen probably a little more often than we should! :-) Fortunately, Chinese food is very much the healthy option! The Evergreen food and service are, without doubt, far and away the best we have experienced anywhere. The menu offers a huge and imaginative selection of Chinese food, (and a selection of British choices for those who prefer it). The chef seems to excel, no matter what dishes we choose. We have our favourites (Deep Fried Shredded Chicken with Chilli and Salt and Deep Fried Beef with Sweet Chilli Sauce), but we do try to widen the net a little and try others. We have yet to be disappointed in any way. You have to order your Chines food here!! It is truly unbeatable!! Neil & Jenny, Wheatgrass Road.

Nice food, reasonably priced never have any complaints. The do delivery too which is a bonus. My son loves the salt and chilli ribs.

I was home alone this Friday with the youngest son and decided to treat ourselves. We had 2 dishes to share a starter and a fried rice. The food used to be excellent but seems to have gone down hill a little. There is nothing to complain about but at the same time no real positives. The meal was ordinary. The delivery however was quick and the staff as always polite and friendly.

This is our "go to" Chinese takeaway since moving into the area. We have used it on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is always a good temperature and they have a good range of appealing, tasty food. I can't recommend them high enough!

Ate from here tonight after recommendation from a taxi driver. It was amazing! Lightly battered chicken balls with tasty sauce, fresh tasty chop suey with lots of veg, lovely noodles! Good times!
