Quite little place hidden away in Beeston. The flavours are nice and subtle. The salt and pepper wings were my favourite.

Best chinese in Nottingham, the chairman pork literally melts in your mouth and tan tan noodles (spicy!) Have an incredible broth.

This restaurant is recommended by one of my friends who studied in Nottingham before. Food is affordable however I get disappointed with the taste. Much noodles with little meat.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Beeston. Had the best Szechuan soup noodles I have had in the UK here despite the slightly long wait time since it seems like there was only 1 lady working in the kitchen. I highly recommend this place for their authentic Chinese food. Please prepare cash if you are planning to visit as it’s a cash only restaurant!

I love this place so much I couldn't recommend it more. It's a great little spot with really lovely staff, the young man and young girl that serves us are always really caring . I can't even count the amount of times me and my boyfriend have gone now. We usually get sweet and sour tofu and maos pork which are always great portions - I often need a takeout box because I can't finish it all. I love how fluffy the rice is as well. We have also gotten the noodles before which are always brilliant. I'd recommend not going in a large group because it's quite small and I don't think there's many staff in the back for food to come as quick, but I'm sure they'd try there best if you did, just be more patient, it's a small place. It is cash only but there's a machine just opposite (and a few on Beeston high street) so it's always fine. If you go for lunch they have a cheaper menu with rice together with the meal if your looking for something a bit smaller too. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Still a favourite after fifteen years!

As others have mentioned it is hidden down an alley that is easily missed. The decor is simple and a bit plain. Could use some decorations and change of paint from white/grey. They have traditional beef brisket noodles in soup, but I opted for the pickled greens and pork intestine. I enjoyed it but it might not be to everyone's pallete. Broth was hearty and spicy. The half roast duck was boneless and not traditional on the bone. It was crispy but could do with being more juicy .

Always great Chinese food here, at a good price too!

Rice dishes seem better than noodle soup dishes. We waited nearly an hour for the food to come out, but it seemed like they were short staffed.

Best Chinese restaurant in Nottingham. The chairman Mao’s pork is one of the best dishes I’ve had from any Chinese restaurant.

This little restaurant is one of Beeston's hidden gems; you can literally walk past the entrance without realising that there is a restaurant there! The decor and atmosphere is simple and unfussy, but the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Having spent time in South-East Asia, I can confirm that this is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've been to in the UK. Very popular with locals and students looking for a taste of home. Service is great but unintusive; friendly, helpful staff and owner. The food is really delicious. As a family we have been coming here for years - we've never had anything we didn't like. Our regular favourites include Chairman Mao's pork, salt and pepper squid, and their prawn and pork toast which is the highlight of their starters. I'll add photos when I remember to take them. Just be aware it's cash only. There's plenty of parking locally, either at Tesco or dedicated car parks.

Arrived with a friend to order food, there was unfortunately only 1 female serving the whole restaurant. But considering the reviews and look of other dishes people were having, we didn't mind the slow response to order our dishes. However from here on the service, whether intentional or not was awful. Firstly the tables next to ours was cleared for a Chinese family of 4 who had just arrived. Which we didn't mind, but It was clear that the husband who went to the front counter after the women had cleared the table for them, decided to put his order in and then return to the table. Bearing in mind we had been waiting patiently for at least 15 mins before they had even come into the restaurant. To make matters worse another couple came in after the family, seated straight away and as we found out after having waited approx 50mins without our food(extremely hungry at this point) that they had been served at the same time as the family. So with our dishes no where to be seen, my friend had had enough. Decided to tell the server that he wasn't happy, which she replied that the groups had come in before us. This broke the camels back. To clarify, both groups served before were of west Asian decent, myself East Asian and friend English/Jamaican heritage felt that whether intentional or not that there was a bias towards these individuals along these lines. So disappointed and totally different experience to visiting Hot pang BBQ down the rd.

The best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. If your in beeston it is a go to, it is a must visit! It is tucked away and is missed my many! It’s family run. The ladies are lovely so polite and kind. Very good, Value for money. Very clean too

Would love to support but service speed varies greatly on each visit. On our last visit it took half an hour to serve the beef noodle soup when the restaurant was not full. Taste of the dish is mediocre.

I've been going to this restaurant for about 10 years now. Food is always great with reasonable price. The staffs are lovely too. The only thing is it's very cold in the restaurant so some of us had to eat with our coats on but the taste is always good so I won't stop going there.

Disappointed. Vinegary and spicy is a main favour of Sichuan cuisine but can’t tasted here. Bland and tasteless. Not my cup of tea, sorry.

Amazing authentic Chinese would 100% recommend

Hidden away down an alley off Beeston high Street is this cafe serving exceptional Chinese food. An extensive menu with dishes both familiar and not so. We had a long wait for food (I suspect due to the dishes we'd ordered and it being a busy Friday evening) although there was an apology when it arrived they probably didn't need to as once we tucked into the "Chinese cabbage, vermacelli, pork and tofu" all was forgiven! Fresh noodles in soup with Roast Duck was also delicious. Portions are generous and probably ordered too much so opted to take it home - they do offer takeaway boxes at a small charge.

A good chinese restaurant with lots of exotic and delicious dishes. Would recommend to HongKongers or Chinese people who move here. You can also get water and refill your cup for free without having to ask for somebody to fill the cup for you. And quite responsive staff to. Tho some of the prices are quite high, I ordered one bowl of noodles which costed 8£ and could have gotten the same bowl of noodles for around 5 - 6£.

We've come here twice at the times they've listed on Google as open and it's been closed. Might be the best food in the world for all I know but it's not much good if you can't eat it.

Beautiful food suit and sour fish beautiful had beef in chilli oil bit hot for me but beef was beautifully tender. Definitely recommend. Could do with some heating though.

This little place serves really good authentic chinese food. A no frills place but very pleasant. I like it!

My wife and I usually order food from Nosh and we love it. However, the service today was terrible (no service at all actually). The reason why I feel like I have to write this review is because they lied to us. I ordered food on the phone today. I asked them to have it ready for collection in about 45 mintutes to 1h (=13:45 - 14:00). We went there at 14:00 and they said it was not ready. The asked us to give them another 10 minutes. We said it was ok as we still had to do some shopping, so we left. 15 minutes later we went there again and... surprise! They were still cooking and needed another 20 minutes minimium. That makes me think they had not even started to cook our food when we first went to the restaurant. Terrible service. We had our money back (thanks at least for that) and we left. Not sure if that's a new management or not, but terrible. Will have to think twice next time I want to order some food from them again.

Very bland chow mein - hardly a variety of vegetables and a fairly high price for what you get (£6.50)

Try the dragon aubergine!!! This little restaurant in the back of an alleyway is a really cool treat for the taste buds. Genuinely authentic Chinese cuisine - there's a lot of Chinese students who seem to eat here. Note that it's cash only, but there's a cash machine right across the road.

This place is fantastic. I've lived in Beeston/Chilwell for many years and walked past the signposted alleyway leading to Nosh countless times but, until recently, never ventured inside. Since covid-19 caused the (possibly permanent) closure of my favourite noodle soup place (Lanzhou Noodles on Market street in the city centre) I've been on the lookout for a new one, and I think Nosh is going to fill the gap. I've been twice at lunchtime and enjoyed delicious beef brisket noodle soup. The food is good and the price is good. Admittedly, I haven't tried anything apart from the beef brisket noodle soup, but I'm recommending it on that alone. One minor downside is that it's cash only. I had to leave and come back to pay on my first visit since I hadn't brought any. I say minor because there's a branch of Santander just over the road.

Just give it a try, amazing authentic Chinese food, honestly its just lovely. Like other when we walked up and nearly turned back but im so glad we didn't, the staff were amazing. They helped with all our question, especially as my husband has allergy. We loved it and our daughter who studies in Nottingham has been back since. We cant wait to go back

This is a great little Chinese cafe, very popular with the town's many Chinese student. It's definitely more of a cafe than a restaurant, but that's no bad thing. Nottingham and the surrounding area has a good few of these more authentic Chinese eateries and this one is one of the best. The staff are very friendly and the food came quickly. Best dish was a whole roast aubergine in a sweet and spicy sauce. Not totally sure what it's called as we got it by accident and we'd started eating it by the time they noticed it, so we asked them to add it to the bill. They are also happy to provide takeaway containers for leftovers, which is good as we seriously over ordered. Good portion sizes!

One of my favourite chinese eatery in Notts. A pity it doesn't do delivery. Love its noodles, dragon aubergine and beef brisket! Walking through the aisle to the restaurant feels like I am transported through time to a place out of UK. Its a little hidden because of the narrow walkway but many people in Notts that love Chinese food would know this place!

If you are looking for good portions of inexpensive authentic food this is for you. Alternatively if your looking for silver plates and chandeliers give it a miss. This place is an honest small hole in the wall that just delivers on the food. No frills. I got the shredded pork and ended up ordering dumplings to take with me as well. They will see me again!

Me and son favorites is Beef Brisket with Udon and double cooked pork belly with leeks.

We had the beef brisket noodle bowl and loved it. Ask for a small amount of chilli oil as a tasty garnish. Great price for a filling lunch. The man who served us was very friendly, and they had plenty of precautions in place by way of sanitiser stations and dividers.

I’ve been to Nosh numerous times and always loved it. Food is delicious, service is fantastic and dishes are cheap and plentiful. Perfect if you are after authentic Chinese food.

I had the beef brisket noodles portions was big and pork and Chinese leaf dumplings tasted freshly made. Definitely recommended its worth the wait and staff was friendly.

Nosh is truly Beeston’s best kept secret. Having grown up in Hong Kong, I thoroughly enjoy Nosh’s authentic yet reasonably priced Chinese dishes. I did not grow up with many of the food served in Nosh, but it makes me homesick and I bring all my friends here at least once. Now I’ve got all my housemates hooked and we have Nosh regularly! The staff are polite and kind, work hard to keep the place tidy even when they’ve got their hands full. The only issue I’ve ever had with Nosh is that it’s cash only, but there is an ATM just across the street anyways. My favourite dishes are aubergine in yu Xiang sauce, Chairman Mao’s Pork and the Coca Cola wings. I have been coming here ever since I moved here for university 3 years ago. I look forward to the lifting of restrictions so I can enjoy another meal there!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Nottingham in my opinion. Don't be put off by its alley-way entrance! The food is absolutely top quality! Equal to, if not better that of Mr Man's of Wollaton and the City centre. The interior is nothing to write home about, but the food MORE than makes up for that! D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S

Really great food and affordable prices! The menu was both English and Chinese (unsure which specific language) so you know it's authentic. Great service too :) definitely going again (I recommend the beef with leek and pan fried veg dumplings!)

Cheap and cheerful no frills chinese food. Food is delicious and value for money for what you get. The dragon aubergine and the fried pigs intestine is pretty decent. If you are dropping by for lunch, you can't go far wrong with the beef noodles as well.

Loved the chairman mao pork really hot but sooo tasty . We ordered two portions of rice one each but this was far too much so one portion for both would suffice . Crispy beef was nice too would definitely go there again really nice food 👍

I've been a few times for lunch and every time the serving staff have been polite and helpful, and the food has been brilliant. Their lunch menu prices are such good value for the portion size (you could fit a head in the noodle soup bowls) that the slightly lacklustre venue doesn't matter.

You have to look hard to find this restaurant, but it is worth the effort. It is down a little alley off and behind the other shops on the High Street. It is always a good sign for a Chinese restaurant when there are lots of Chinese people eating there; for most of the time we were in the restaurant, we were the only Europeans there. There was a wide range of dishes on offer, all cooked to order, and very tasty. It was my father's first real taste of Chinese cooking and, once he had got used to how it was presented, he enjoyed it. Forks and spoons were readily available for those less adapt with chopsticks! The only thing to stop 5 stars is they do not take cards - it is cash only.

If you are looking for a restaurant, it's not for you. I would describe it more as a plain cafe. However, the food was excellent a tasted very fresh. I would definitely return, most likely for lunch.

Not been but been told nice food and good service

不知道为什么点餐员好像没把我的要求写进去。全部加辣单子上只写了一个菜加辣，不要香菜也没有写进去导致两个菜有香菜。大厨可能对凉粉有什么误解，做成了凉皮。水煮牛肉还有一点甜…所有菜分量都很少，价格也涨了很多。真的很失望，和两年前的nosh不是一个水准，感觉换了大厨。这是我吃过的最不好吃的辣子鸡了，感觉肉有些隐隐发臭，也一点都不辣…地三鲜只有两鲜。只看到了土豆茄子，而且全部裹粉炸到分不出什么是什么。唯一能吃的大概就是红烧肉了。很失望，不会再吃了。 Really disappointed, thought they had changed a chef. It was in a high standard two years ago, but not today. The waitress didn’t listen to my requirements AT ALL. Not fresh food, and not delicious as well. Normally I don’t really write reviews but today I couldn’t control myself. Wouldn’t go back again.

A friend recommended this place to us, and as we were in the area we decided to pop in for lunch. It got very busy very quickly! It’s not a huge space, but all the tables were filled by about 12:15. We ordered seafood ho fun, chicken chow mein and pork and cabbage dumplings. It took a while for the food to arrive...and to be honest it was very average. We’ve definitely had better dumplings in Nottingham - these ones were bland. The same can be said for both the noodle dishes - there wasn’t anything special about them. On the plus side, the meal didn’t cost much at about £5/6 per dish. Perhaps the evening menu (which looked much longer) offers better dishes. All in all it was an alright lunch for a decent price, but nothing to phone home about.

Came away quite disappointed after looking forward to trying Nosh for the first time. I had heard several people rate it, so decided to go to lunch one day. We ordered a main each. Waited almost an hour and a half for the meal - Didn't mind the wait given it was a takeaway rather than eat in. But both dishes were very greasy, tasted the same as each other despite being different, and both contained meat of which quantity wise there was very little. I'm hesitant to return but feel like trying again. Perhaps a place for eating in rather than takeaway. Service was ok and pleasant enough staff. Disappointed.

This place has three out of five on the FSA health inspection. The food was underwhelming, the menu is authentic which means it’s full of offal. This is obviously a cost cut back experience and I’d not risk it.

Love this place! Great food, great quality. We just love their soups or twice fried pork. I highly recommend!

Great family run restaurant that serves authentic Chinese food at affordable prices. Simple décor but it's all about the food really especially the homemade soup noodles. Baby chairs available too. Look out for the sign on the high street because it's easy to walk past this alleyway and not realize this gem of a restaurant. It gets busy so make sure you get here before you're really hungry or when its prime eating time.

No vas a Nosh por la decoración. Vas a Nosh por la autenticidad de la comida. Si quieres decoración entonces ve a un restaurante elegante. Si quieres una gran comida china casera, ve a Nosh. Hemos estado comiendo allí durante años y nunca nos ha decepcionado (excepto quizás cuando no hemos podido conseguir una mesa). Recomendación definitiva

¡No dejes que la entrada te desanime! Por un callejón oscuro y parece un café de camioneros PERO la comida es increíble.Entorno básico y BYO si quieres alcohol. . . . Me encantó este lugar. Éramos los únicos no chinos en el lugar lleno.Tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para los platos pero valió la pena la espera, deliciosa comida, porciones frescas y grandes. La mejor carne picada crujiente que he comido y las albóndigas al vapor. . . podría haber comido montañas de ellos! ,¡Vale la pena una visita! ! !
