Excellent food and really helpful, friendly staff.

Stay away!!! I prefer not to pick at other peoples work but this was bad I’m confident chicken in the curry was FAKE chicken it was slimy, rubbery and just disintegrated no grain or muscle fibres to it just a lump of jelly They likely used CREAM in the Curry sauce which had separated from being sat under a heater for so long The sweet and sour sauce appeared to be 50% sweet and sour and 50% KETCHUP to bulk it out Tiny selection of food and options were filled with massive chunks of onion and carrot to fill out the dish and make it cheaper the food was room temp and clearly was being microwaved as they kept topping it up with small dishes every 5 minutes I dread to think how long it had been out there Glasses for drinks were dirty and had solid bits of food stuck on them I wouldn’t feed it to a starving child if they begged me for it

Tried for the first time. They started doing a buffet option on Sunday only, which I tried. You still have the option of ordering from the main menu if you prefer. In my opinion, the buffet menu was really good value for the money £20 per person, To start with, They brought prawn crackers out with a sauce, while we waited for the starter, the starter came out on as a platter, which you can order more of, the mains you go up as much as you like, afterwards they offer a tea or a coffee on the house, I would highly recommend the food was delicious, constantly checking and filling the buffet station up, inside is stunning, drinks plenty of choice, the staff are very friendly too they can't do enough for you, I've got to say I will be returning again.

Nice place, well worth a visit. Sunday offers buffet which is reasably nice, with a variety of food. Little dated. Cold plates, and bathrooms could do with a freshen up and soap. But really nice service from staff.

Easy to book, had the set menu for 4 which was very tasty and very filling. It was fairly busy and the service was good...only asked us once about drinks though and had to get their attention to order more

Went on spur of the moment while staying locally, so glad we did the food was excellent and the surroundings and staff were lovely.Had a set meal for 2 which was more then enough to eat.And definitely good value for money,Only slight issue was the time between courses was quite long,but that gave us time to prepare for the next dish.would definitely go again if in the area.

Most expensive Chinese in the area. The food was just very bland especially the egg fried rice and vegetable dish, the chips were a smaller portion than I would have liked and also they were only luke warm, although on a positive note I could tell the food was decent quality and the service was good and came at the estimated time

A Really tasty Chinese and gluten free meal. i was very impressed with the flavour of the Chinese as I usually feel like it’s bland and this definitely wasn’t, I loved it. The Staff was friendly and accommodating…Thankyou I’ll be returning!

Wow what a departure from what used to be. The place is a shambles now. I’ve had quite a few nice meals here, staff used to be excellent and it was a great experience. As of late though staff are really not trained well enough to be front of house and seam to barely know why they are there. This place has gone very downhill and can’t hold a candle to what they used to be. Service is poor, they seem to rely on the buffet and hope that staff don’t have to do anything to serve you. Staff can barely understand what you’re saying and in mine and my family’s case we could barely understand them either. But not only that, don’t expect to receive a menu without asking for one, drinks will take forever to get to you and forget a meal check they don’t do it. They used to welcome you in with a set table and fresh prawn crackers, now they don’t have your table ready for you when you arrive (despite booking) and you’ll be lucky to get prawn crackers even if you ask for them. Food ain’t too bad, but mine was lukewarm. It’s really the service that’s letting them down. Hopefully they work on it and improve, but I’ve been back one too many times and received the same dull sloppy reception and poor service that I’m unwilling to accept. TLDR: sloppy poor service and staff members that don’t seem to get what it means to work in a restaurant or be bothered to be there, makes for a meal experience that feels like you wish you would have just got a take away.

We went last night a table of 9. 3 of the mains was disgusting and inedible. Gone down hill since new owners took over as had many a fantastic meek here in the past. Definitely won’t be retuning. Don’t waste your hard earned money in this place. You have been warned

Well what a pitifull drop in standards since my last visit. Went in for the buffet just to be turned away for not being ready as they had a late order (open for 30 mins), was told to come back in a hour ! I returned 90 mins later for them still not ready. They offered me something for free but couldn't understand the gentleman as he barely spoke English. Told him I was told you had a buffet on still today but he shrugged his shoulders... THIS USE TO BE A GREAT PLACE NOW IT'S A DIVE

We went for the Sunday buffet, which was freshly made, a ontray of starters to share which was cooked to perfection then a 10 dish buffet with majority of our favorite dishes. Service was amazing from the moment we got in, waiters were funny. They also had a high chair, only comment for the atmosphere it's overly busy inside which is a shame as everything is fresh and taste amazing and good service provided. All around lovely.

I don't get where all of these good reviews are coming from! We visited very recently & it wasn't nice at all! These lovely food pictures on here definitely weren't on the menu. There was bearly any food & to be honest it looked like it was days old. Far far too overpriced, 100% eont be visiting again.

This restaurant deletes bad reviews on its Facebook pages... Numerous times I have posted on there,they dissappear. I don't know about the weekly food offerings but the Sunday buffet food is absolutely dire,with a spongy strange type of chicken(it's definitely not chicken)only about 10 tin trays with a badly assorted range of food there to start with,all of it only luke warm which is worrying,with them bringing out top ups in small dishes to slightly refill,clearly microwaved offerings. Only the veg in the dishes seems ok. At £20 per person for the buffet and considering what's there and the poor quality,its absolutely not worth it. If you live in Nottingham then take yourself off to MaySum in town and get a real buffet!!!

We visited here as a group of three on a Friday night. We were welcomed and seated immediately. The waiters were very attentive, frequently visiting our table to check whether we needed anything and certainly gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. The service was very prompt. One of us just had a main whilst the other two ordered a set menu which was great value and the amount of food included was generous! We all enjoyed our meal and all the food was delicious. To top it all off the waiter offered us complimentary teas and coffee's! Good food, good service and good price!

My partner and I went for the Sunday buffet, as we have wanted to try the restaurant for a while. Even though the staff were friendly, We were very disappointed as some dishes not as hot as we would have liked. Chips were cold as not on the hotplate. Starter was a plate made up from the kitchen, there was not much choice of main dishes and a few desserts. Didn't think it was worth £20 each.

Visited as a group on a Saturday night. We had a warm welcome and were soon seated. Great choice of food on the menu. All food ordered was fresh, beautifully cooked and delicious. The service throughout was friendly, attentive and efficient. Would recommend and will definitely be back.

If I could give zero stars I would. Our reservation was for 19.45hrs, table for 2 to celebrate my birthday. Firstly they couldn't find our booking. When we were seated, we ordered our starters and main course. The starters arrived about half an hour later with apologies it was taking too long. By 9pm, we were still waiting for our mains so I asked for the bill for what we had consumed. A man came and spoke to us apologising and said the chef will start cooking it now. By this time we had been waiting nearly 90 minutes. I insisted on the bill. They didn't even provide a discount for their incompetence. My birthday meal was ruined. We will never go back

Recently moved to the area and tried all of the Chinese’ and this one is the best by far. The chicken skewers (with extra satay) and salt and pepper chips are amazing, will be a regular customer. Also very reasonably priced compared to other places

Whilst the outside isn't particularly welcoming , the inside tells a different story. Very friendly ,clean , quiet ( I mean in ambience not popularity) . Service was great , food was greater! Highly recommended...

I've lived within 6 miles of Dragon Wells for a large number of years now and up until a couple of weeks ago didn't even know it existed.. and due to just pure luck I found it online.. and after visiting it for the first time I was extremely impressed.. Walking through the door it oozes a very stylish oriental vibe with its very tasteful interior design, once seated the service was excellent, never intrusive but there just when needed (even though ibusy) The food was delicious an definite great value for money.. I will be visiting it again in the future for sure..

First visit and it won’t be the last, a group of us and we shared two of the set menus. Everything was cooked fresh end all excellent quality considering there were so many dishes. All the staff were friendly and efficient. We also got complementary coffees and two glasses of wine and when we told the manager they were missing off of our bill he said they were on the house which was unexpected but lovely. Prices very reasonable too and very busy. Definitely recommend a visit

Been going to this restaurant for a few year's now and found it to be a relaxt atmosphere, with fantastic authentic Cantonese food. The manager is very friendly and attentive. The staff on the other hand seem to take advantage of the new owner being inexperienced in a Chinese restaurant.

My experience was absolutely disgusting. The boss was screaming at girls in front of the whole restaurant, telling them to f*ck off. Then they walked out on me and my family were speaking to them and they said that the boss touched them disgusting. The worst part is that the girls were 15 and 16 and were being treated like trash, never going again.

manager JACKIE needs to be reported. This guy have verbally abused waitresses and he inappropriately touches his waitresses in which happened more then once (they are under 18). Disgusting behaviour manager need to be in jail. Don’t dine at Dragon Wells.

We went for Sunday lunch on our Wedding Anniversary; the food was very tasty and the service was excellent, the atmosphere would have been 5 stars if more people had been in the restaurant, there were only 4 of us eating. I would imagine it's busier of an evening. We did get 20% off our meal, which was a bonus though. Would definitely visit again.

We came here for a friends birthday last weekend! The food was great authentic Cantonese, there was a good atmosphere and the staff were all very attentive, they even gave us a free drink after our meal which was a nice touch. It was also reasonably priced. Would highly reccomend and will definitely be going back soon. 10/10

was not welcomed correctly, service was shockingly slow, my chips were undercooked, and had a hair in my food, I expected better from a high rated restaurant and it’s very overpriced, the manager also seemed a bit creepy i over heard some comments made to the waitresses from the manager which were unprofessional and worrying

We have had excellent meals over the last few years here, we are always greeted by the wonderful owner. The value for money for the excellent food is outstanding. Every meal we have had has always tasted so fresh and full of flavour, there is also plenty of options for everyone on the menu, we will definitely be returning very soon.

Love this restaurant. The owner is absolutely wonderful always comes to chat to us. My dad is elderly and has dementia but loves coming here as made to feel so welcome. The food is delicious really nicely done. Beautiful traditional Chinese restaurant we're very lucky to have so close to home ❤💯

A group of us came here on a Friday night for a friend's birthday. It wasn't massively busy. Parking is available around the corner. The young waiting staff aren't the friendliest and looked lost and disinterested at times. Our table was laid out extremely close...
