It was easy to place an order over the phone and delivery was on time delivered by a friendly driver. Must try the chicken in black bean sauce with egg fried rice, it was epic...restaurant standard. We ask for it to be spicy. Compliments to the chef. Also, the owner was extremely helpful going through dishes for gluten allergy. Therefore, top marks.

Food has really gone downhill. Crispy chicken was as hard as a rock. Curry is just full of raw onion and raw pepper. Chips were 'recycled' - burnt and inedible. Avoid.

Absolutely the best Chinese in Beeston! We discovered this little gem back in September 2022 after driving past and deciding to give it a go. We chose the set menu for two and waited patiently. The lady serving us was lovely, explained in detail each dish and said it wouldn't be long. We waited around 10 mins and took our food home. I must say at this point that we normally have food delivered and it's normally luke warm when it arrives. This was steaming hot after a 10 minute journey home. The food was incredible, the rice wasn't greasy and wasn't that awful brown colour that so many chinese takeaways dish out. This was cooked to perfection. The sweet and sour chicken balls were huge chunks of chicken breast in a light and fluffy batter. The whole meal was amazing. We have since used Golden hill on numerous occasions having the food delivered and it's always steaming hot.

Ordered 2x portion of ribs, we got exactly what we ordered ribs. Only problem being is they where vegan ribs and had no meat.

We Waited 90 minuets for food !!! Rang after an hour to be told it was with the driver and would be 15 minuets, which it didn’t arrive for another 30 minuets, I only live 8 minuets from the shop so I was lied to, when the food arrived it was so cold! Even though the woman on the phone had assured me it wouldn’t be cold, the chips looked like standard frozen chips that were overcooked and some 5 spice powder added, not even proper salt and pepper chips, the egg fried rice was like microwaveable rice from the shop, chow Main wasn’t like the normal you would get, food was not worth £25 at all !!

Worst Chinese we have had! The food was tasteless, the crispy chicken had never seen a chicken and the rice tasted like it was microwaved. We won’t be ordering from here again.

if you are in the food industry you do through passion and heart. Customer satisfaction is what keeps your business going but not to this business....after a very disappointing experience my partner left an honest review stating we had over a 2 hour wait and excuse after excuse but did state he had gotten a refund to only have the manager ring him quite a few times as all he wants is the review taken down as its damaged his star rating and he wants it to be higher. I'm sorry but if you worked on your honesty on order updates and getting customer service right your star reviews would increase genuinely not telling people to change it.

wasn't allowed to put a minus score. waited over a hour 15 before i rang for a update. was told delivery driver on way. 30 minutes later. rang again... more excuses. never got to actually taste the food . they had the nerve to say if we ordered again we could have 30% off. i mean it should be free just as common courtesy . shame they couldnt deliver as fast as they took my money.... the only positive is they did refund my money .

I usually order from this restaurant all the time, I have ordered today the same thing I ordered last time but the large instead of small. My food has arrived and it's got the same amount of food in the box but I've paid more money. The manager then comes on the phone to me to say that it has the right amount of food in so he knows he is skanking people because tge small and large box are tge same! Extra money for no extra food. I'm now left with something that is not going to fill my family up! Nearly £30 the food had cost including delivery! Absolutely disgusting as I know I've had the large one before and it should have more food in it. Talk about cut backs! Deffo won't order from here again!

Special fried rice was egg fried rice probably microwaved with a tub of chicken and beef in bbq sauce. Instead of meat spring rolls they sent veggie spring rolls. They sweet and sour sauce tasted like vinegar and wasnt thick like its supposed to be! I'm never ordering from here again, I wouldnt waste your time either!

Absolutely amazing been using Golden City for a few years now, food is delicious and piping hot. We also request low / no salt in certain dishes for health reasons and Golden City are happy to comply with this request.

Food was lovely piping hot and tasted great but took nearly 2 hrs to be delivered we ordered just after 6:30 and never arrived till 8.25pm and by then tbh we was past hungry and didn't enjoy as much as we should of

Been coming here for years and last few times food not very good at all ie I've just had food from golden city on bramcote ave beeston Nottingham... it was worsed chinese I've ever had!! I've had food from there before ie (2016) and it's nothing compared to that. ....foo young well if you want nothing but scrambled egg and bit of meat that tastes like it's nothing !! And doesn't have wot it should have in it!!! Ie no taste!!! And my hubby had house special chow main but didn't get wot it says on menu and just nodles nothing else yet we tiped driver as though would be really nice meal but too No we could of done better at home yet it cost £15.00 for food that got put in bin!! Please don't eat from here at all trust me!!! And I will be getting in touch will health and safety as food served not fit or as decribed on menu at all!!

Food ok. Service very poor. Do not appreciate being asked to wait in the take away,having taken the trouble to make my way there, while Phone calls taken from other customers. The person taking my order got it wrong I was charged wrong. When I rang to ask them to deliver remaining item I was told 45 mins till rest of order would be delivered. I told them this was unacceptable. So they put the phone down !!!!!. Well I guess that's one way of dealing with an unhappy customer. Shall not be back again. Used to go a lot as it is local but there are plenty and better near by. Andy

Best Chinese in Nottingham, great food at a great price. After busy day at work decided to have a Chinese with friends, was recommended so gave it a try. Will now be a regular customer.

I love this place. Their food is consistently excellent quality and tasty. It's not swimming in grease like other places in the area. Only problem is I can't stop when I'm full lol. Been a customer for a good few years now. The staff are efficient at taking orders and the delivery staff are always polite. Their satay chicken starters are a must have! 😍

Good value and consistently great food. Never had a bad meal from here and in my experience, the wait times have always been much quicker than stated on the phone.

Best Chinese food in Nottingham

Found this place after all my usual takeaways started getting really expensive. This is easily the best takeaway in the area and the prices are really reasonable. The food is stunning and i wish i had found it earlier.

Best Chinese food ever! they are so good that they are very busy and sometimes I have to wait an hour, but it's worth the wait!

Overall decent takeaway, wasn't too happy with the house special fried rice as it's quite obviously microwaved but other than that most dishes are fairly nice.
