The food took us all by surprise! It was really really nice! Though the interior was a surprise to say the least, being very modern and minimal compared to the classic British pub we were expecting from the outside, the food was great! I had chicken with a cream sauce and potato cake which was divine, and all the other meals got high praise - a steak sarnie, steak and chips, and cauliflower fritters too. All lovely. The staff went above and beyond for us, and despite a lengthy wait, it was so worth it! Thanks so much, and if you’re looking for a well-priced quality meal in the area, I don’t think there’s much better!

Went for lunch on Easter Sunday not very busy..but service quite slow .My friend ordered a large portion but was given small, although they did exchange it .My hunters chicken was very dry and the salad was limp and clearly not fresh ..the lettuce and cabbage was tinged black around the edges. We recieved a complimentary coffee but when I spoke to a waitress re the salad she went off to speak to the chef but we had no feedback .Second time I have left a poor review poor quality and the food wasn't very hot either .This pub need to ' up their game ' in the food department

On holiday nearby, always visit this weatherspoons pub whilst shopping in Bridgend, however on this occasion and just hope this is a one off but has put me off weatherspoons pubs even where I live, but was made to feel very unwelcome especially by the managers attitude whilst serving, maybe it has something to do with me being English I don’t know but would gladly welcome Welsh people if I had my own pub and restaurant, my gramp was Welsh and I thought this part of Wales were welcoming and it’s a shame cuz most locals around here are welcoming and friendly, anyway I may be overthinking on this score but I felt that the manager was unfriendly and there were a group of middle aged men who looked rough and unfriendly who were not using the pub but were smoking as the first table I sat at was by a window and in a space of 2 minutes 2 of the men were looking through the window, no apology or trying to get anyone’s attention not even looking at me but I felt my privacy was being invaded and made me feel really uncomfortable, i wouldn’t mind but my mother was with me I felt uncomfortable for her so we moved tables, even tho it was outside of the pubs control which I understand still puts me off especially visiting this pub again!
