The best restaurants serving British food in Talybont-on-Usk Powys Mid Wales

We have been going to this little gem of a restaurant for the last couple of years, and it never ceases to disappoint. A very warm welcome from Katie & the girls as usual. Another delicious meal yesterday & very good value!! I had the Spicy Chicken Sizzler which certainly warms you up on a cold day, washed down with a couple of pints of Butty Bach. My mother had the BBQ chicken melt which was very tasty & chocolate brownie for dessert. We shall look forward to visiting again soon. Keep up the good work 😊

Excellent service fitted us in without a booking though this is not recommended. staff were very friendly food was top quality & plentiful.top quality ingredients. Catered for GF too will call again when in the area

We walked along the canal and stopped for lunch. Dog friendly and they welcomed us even though the dogs were a little muddy! Roaring fire and food excellent. We would be happy to return.

We parked to have a good lunch. Went to entrance with our dog....this is walking country. Even before getting to door, met by barmaid saying that pub was not dog friendly....perhaps hoped we would leave our dog in car. We left......what a most unwelcoming place.

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop

Great location as it’s just 5 or so minutes away from the car park at the bottom of the Pen Y Fan start point. We stopped off for a pint before heading back home and it was a cosy pub with nice staff who served us.
