Since the centre was refurbished we have gone to a concert and weekly Pilates class. The refurbishments are fantastic providing an excellent warm studio space for the Pilates class, I have noticed that the room is also used for dog training, so I’m really pleased that the studio is well cleaned before our class

We visited the Fig & Olive before our ferry from Cairnryan to Larne as we wanted a spot to relax after a long car journey before the ferry. It’s a great spot- plenty of free parking available nearby, just a short walk to the cafe. The menu is perfect; really tasty, fresh food & lovely strong coffee. It’s also dog friendly which was a big bonus for us & our Cockapoo was quite happy chilling by our side there We liked it so much we decided to stop again on our return trip. If getting the ferry again, we’ll very likely return.

A lovely restaurant and bar serving freshly home cooked food. Portion sizes are good and the food was excellent. My wife is very fussy about her steak pies but loved the one she got here. I had scampi and it was good as well. The decor and surroundings don't scream "modern" but that is part of the charm. A warm welcome from the hosts (and the locals) in what clealy is a well loved community hub. The prices are very reasonable and while it's not the most extensive of menus you should be able to find something you like.

We always used to love visiting the Mount Stewart with our dog for food & drinks. When we booked recently for an evening meal we were told we could only eat outside due to the bar having been refurbished. As it was a cool evening it would not have been possible to enjoy hot food there, so sadly we had to cancel and go elsewhere in the village. Having looked into the bar it seems almost all the seating is now at high tables, which is not suitable for many people to access - sadly the previous welcoming comfortable and cosy ambience of the bar seems to have been lost in this update.
