No worry with waiting an hour or lack of sauces ordered. The fact the chips tasted like they were cooked yesterday and the chicken meat non existent made me write this review.Poor quality

We went for Afternoon Tea for 2. Having been before we were confident we were in for a real treat, and we weren’t disappointed. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST AFTERNOON TEAS WE HAVE HAD. AND THE BEST VALUE. From the minute we arrived the staff were so accommodating. Had set a table up for us inside. We asked if we could sit outside and absolutely no trouble for them. The afternoon tea arrived and the quality and choice was as usual excellent and very well presented. 8 well filled and fresh finger sandwiches. 2 large fresh warm and tasty scones with plentiful jam and cream. And if you manage to get through that, 2 lemon desserts (delicious) 2 fresh cream chocolate muffins and 2 strawberry cheesecakes. Believe me if you can get through all that you’re doing well! Needles to say we took some home with us. Please don’t miss out on this, go on give yourself a treat.

Been going to the Manor House cafe for a long time but was very disappointed with today’s visit (06/11/2024). Whilst the food is still good they have brought in a new policy with the tea they serve. Instead of getting a pot of tea you now get a tea bag and a pot of hot water. Fair enough you might think. However when I asked why they were doing this, the answer was ‘people ask for more hot water and are therefore getting an extra cup of tea for free’. How petty and how bad for business. £1.95 is not cheap for one tea bag and a little milk. The staff should not refuse extra hot water (after all, they can’t refuse a glass of tap water) or begrudge an extra ‘free’ cup of tea to customers who are also spending a decent amount on food. I was not alone in my thoughts, several other people were making the same comments. Also, new cafes and coffee shops are opening all the time in Solihull so there is a lot more choice. The Manor House should not be alienating customers like this or they might find they will go elsewhere.

Given up ,no longer go into the conservatory due to the debacle that is ordering/leaving dog tied up !!! Decided whilst waiting for shop to open I would get a coffee from the pantry (as I had my dog with me )stood at door ,requested oat decaf cappuccino “ we don’t do oat milk” was the response Really !!! it’s all a joke now ,what’s happened to what was once a very special place to enjoy quality food and hospitality ?I have given up now.

If you want a meal, make sure it's not on a Wednesday evening. Empty pub and still denied a table as it was "quiz night'. Wouldn't mind but I was there an hour before the quiz started and they didn't even check to see if we could have the table free by the start of the quiz. Laughable really, oh well had two meals at a nearby pub for less than the price of one on the set menu here anyway.

We came out for my birthday dinner. Myself, partner and 2 children. The waitress was beyond amazing, took our drinks order and was so quick! We ordered our food, I ordered a lot of sushi, my partner the lamb chops and both kids had the kids burgers. The lamb chops were tasty, the kids enjoyed the burgers but my goodness - the sushi was absolutely mind-blowing!!! I enjoy my sushi and have it regularly and this was the best sushi I’ve had in a long time!! I do not understand why this restaurant isn’t busier!!! They deserve to be busy all the time! If your nearby give them a chance!!!

A belated birthday celebration for myself and my husband accompanied by our son and daughter who loved the decor. My husband and I were given a birthday prosecco which was very much appreciated and enjoyed. The food was all well presented and well cooked. We all enjoyed our meals but the highlight was the attentive and friendly staff, all with smiles on their faces

visited here as my mother in law said the food was very good. Well the food was acceptable but that’s as far as it goes. 1. The staff are all dressed in scruffy washed out black sweat shirts , jeans and shirts or blouses that hadn’t been ironed or just didn’t fit. 2. One waitress decided that her chin needed to be protected more than the customers as we constantly watched her tuck it under her chin when talking to customers. 3. We were placed in the corridor without any windows and directly opposite the kitchen and toilet doors where the staff congregated and talked so loudly we couldn’t hear our own conversation. 4. The wine was served in cheap crappy pub glasses which you find at a boot fair. 5. There is attentive and bloody annoying. We were asked 9 times by different staff if our meal was ok ??? They clearly don’t work as a team and it’s a free for all because 3 different members of staff tried to take our dessert order ‍️ 6. We ordered Auction House Chardonnay and were served something else . When I questioned it I was told they had rebranded it ???? This could be such a nice place if they decorated it properly and not like it had just had a 60 minute make over. Smarten the staff up and train them on the content of the menu. Give each waiter/waitress their own tables so that the customers feel like you care and not just passing by the table and casually ask if everything is ok on their way to the kitchen. The whole experience felt rushed , from the moment we arrived to when we left the total time spent was 1 hour 15 mins , it felt more like a conveyor belt meal than a Saturday night out. Would we go back , absolutely NOT !! And my mother in law was going to take her friend for lunch on Wednesday, not now !! Go to Tripadvisor | Privacy Policy | Contact Us

We waited an hour for 3 meals and one was wrong. Every time we go in there the waiting time is ridiculous and you can hear people complaining. My advice to the owner do not take orders without making it clear your waiting time. We would only go back for a drink as you dont have to wait and your less likely to get the order wrong.

Lovely setting and after reading the reviews, we were expecting a nice meal. Service was good but the Sunday lunch was mediocre. Warm, not hot and tasteless. Have had better Sunday lunches, paying less than £20 per meal. Won't be rushing back.

I live in Lichfield and eat out frequently. This isn’t a place I usually go to and I certainly won’t be going again. Vegan lasagne according to the menu arrived smothered in dairy cheese. Good job I don’t have a dairy allergy. Waitress walked past and bumped the table spilling my drink all over the table and over my clothes. She dabbed at me with a serviette and that was it. Didn’t replace the drink or offer any other apology. Appalling food and service. Avoid. Lichfield has many wonderful places to eat and drink. This isn’t one of them.

The best Indian in the area has moved from the Joey to the Granny and the food is better than ever! Eating outside, with a fresh pint and sun shining 👍
