The front of house staff were very friendly and helpful but the chef wasn’t and in fact didn’t have a personality at all. He’s clearly not picked up on the friendly service that’s always been given to us by Adrian and some of the other chefs over the years. The beef was lovely but the roast potatoes were like bullets and inedible and the dinner wasn’t very warm. What a shame, as we’ve been dining here for years.

Lovely setting and delicious food. The breakfast menu has lots of variety and options to pick from to suit different tastes. We will be returning in the future, especially as it’s only a stones throw away from the quantocks.

Quite busy, which isn't a bad thing. At the time of booking, wheelchair access was requested, but it may have been overlooked. The staff resolved it by moving 2 tables to accommodate 8 guests. To be honest, it's a bit tight for 2 wheelchair users to move around, and there are steps to different levels, so the choices of eating areas are quite restricted. Food ordering is QR code and smart app. The carvery was simple and tasty, reasonably good choice of vegetables. Desserts were good, and the table service was fine. The accessibility for the toilet (singular) wasn't the best. The wheelchair had to be left in the hallway because there was no room for the chair and user to be in there at the same time. Pricing was about average. Might be a while before I go back, but I probably will at some point in the future.

Have been visiting the DunCow for years and its reputation for food is hit and miss. The last visit was definitely a miss. The ‘Hunters Chicken’ was a very dry chicken burger with a slice of melted orange cheese, 2 rashers of bacon (they were tasty) and a teaspoon of dried on barbecue sauce, a pinch of leaves and 7 chips. I paid the bill and left there is no point in complaining it’s what you have to expect sometimes it’s lovely food other times it’s dire. I have been for breakfast before and it was lovely. The DunCow is always busy which is great very popular for a drink but for food try the Cinnamon Lounge or Green Man.

Just awful…. So so expensive. Kids menu is a rip off, £5.20 for the lunch box, and you don’t even get a full sandwich (you get two little triangles) Garlic bread and kids food came out first, garlic bread was cold and mains came out 10 mins later. Chicken in the panini was terrible quality and full of black chunks, the jacket potato was also cold, no butter on it, and a small pot of cheese on the side which was covered in flour so out of a pre grated bag. Had a side of chips which were also barely warm when they came out. For £30 I expected more. Really pricey for what it is and I’ll also add that the cafe was practically empty so I dread to think what the food is like on a busy weekend.
