Have been visiting the DunCow for years and its reputation for food is hit and miss. The last visit was definitely a miss. The ‘Hunters Chicken’ was a very dry chicken burger with a slice of melted orange cheese, 2 rashers of bacon (they were tasty) and a teaspoon of dried on barbecue sauce, a pinch of leaves and 7 chips. I paid the bill and left there is no point in complaining it’s what you have to expect sometimes it’s lovely food other times it’s dire. I have been for breakfast before and it was lovely. The DunCow is always busy which is great very popular for a drink but for food try the Cinnamon Lounge or Green Man.

Four of us for Tuesday lunch. We all ordered a different main course & we were all satisfied with our meals. Service was friendly & courteous. We didn’t feel rushed either. The option to have a small dessert with a coffee was appreciated. Reasonably priced.

At first glance, the venue is appealing, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The restaurant itself feels run-down, and the men’s toilets were filthy, with water leaking across the floor. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who took our order, and while the starters arrived in a reasonable time, we waited nearly an hour for the main course. It was a simple order—pizza, lamb shank, and two steaks—so it’s hard to understand how they could get it so wrong. I could elaborate further, but suffice it to say, the Dun Cow is no longer the restaurant it once was.

I wanted to share our experience from our recent visit to the pub for Sunday lunch. We booked a table in the morning of our visit and arrived 30 minutes early. Fortunately, our table was vacant, so we were seated right away, which we appreciated since we were driving back from Liverpool and were quite hungry. After 15 minutes, we were asked for our drink orders, and the drinks were served promptly. The waitress then took our food orders. My wife, who is vegetarian, ordered her meal with sides of cauliflower cheese and an extra Yorkshire pudding. I ordered a side of pigs in blankets. However, after an hour and ten minutes of waiting, our food finally arrived. Unfortunately, my wife’s vegetarian meal included a side of pigs in blankets, which was touching the Yorkshire pudding. The waitress offered to remove the sausages, but the issue of contamination remained. We decided to leave and requested to be charged only for the drinks, which they kindly provided for free. It was clear that the waiting staff did not write down our order, relying instead on memory, which proved to be fallible. This was not our first visit to the pub; we have dined there three times, and unfortunately, two of those experiences have been poor. As a result, we have decided that we will not return.

Getting the order taken took 15 minutes, getting the food took another 20+ for just two burgers and the beer I ordered turned up as we were walking out to get the bill, on top of that is the price, almost £18 for a burger, totally overpriced. Might have been acceptable if the service and delivery were better, won’t be back any time soon!

Had a lovely time at the Dunn cow, the staff were very warm and welcoming. Hannah especially stood out for me when she helped my Husband to choose a gluten free meal. She also made a BIG fuss of my dog which is why I love this pub in the first place!

Absolutely shocking experience. We ordered 3 kids meals which should come with drinks. We paid extra for 2 but ordered one squash. When we paid we'd been charged £2 for it, I said this should be included can you get it removed. The waiter replied no it should be £1. However didn't remove it from the bill. It's clearly included on the menu. I ordered a rare steak. It came well done. The waiter argued no it's medium. I had to ask for it to be recooked. I then ate alone as family finished. Our sausage and mash for kids didn't come with the gravy. She'd finished her meal by the time it came. I ordered a side order which didn't come and I had to chase. We weren't offered condiments. I'd have been better cooking at home. We left hungry and headed to Sainsbury's for treats as noone felt like they'd eaten

Ordered two starters and two main courses at 7.30, one a well done lamb cutlet. After one and three quarter hours we had only received our starter. Everyone around us was also getting fidgety. At 9.15 we decided to call it a day and ask for a refund. When I arrived at the bar I had to join a queue of customers all asking for their money back. Things verged on the ridiculous when I was told I would have had to wait longer as it was a “well done” lamb cutlet. We complained to M&B but unfortunately the complaint was handled by The Dun Cow and they made a mess of it. Promised us an open voucher for M&B but then sent us one specifically for The Dun Cow and ignored our follow up. There is no way we will ever be returning.

Extremely disappointing. Very poor service. Ordered starters and mains and 2 rounds of drinks. After 2 hours had had starters and one round of drinks. No sign of either mains or more drinks. Water never arrived. Other tables around were having similar issues. We gave up and left. Will be a very long time before we go back. Really disappointing as we've had lovely meals here before. Hope they can resolve these issues before they completely lose their customers.

Myself and a party of 6 stayed at the hotel for two nights. On the Friday night we had an extremely disappointing experience despite returning to the hotel after a previous positive experience. The service after complaining wasn’t great either, the food was poorly displayed, not cooked well and didn’t taste great. On reflection the price of food did not reflect what was given. Later that evening we had two friends who were also hotel guests join us that for drinks and a rather miserable member of the bar team abruptly asked us to finish our drinks as they wanted to lock up. (There is a polite way of asking us to finish our drinks!) We returned for dinner the following evening as options in the area were limited. Thankfully the trip was saved by Rose. A fantastic member of the team who should most definitely be promoted to a higher role. Her enthusiasm and kindness had changed our opinion of the restaurant. Thank you so much Rose for a wonderful evening and making our final evening enjoyable and fun!

We had a superb lunch here. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming (and had a great sense of humour). The food was fantastic: tasty, well-cooked, beautifully presented and generous portions. Most of us had the set lunch, which was excellent value for money. The only pity is that it's not on our doorstep (we met family and it was about halfway for us both), otherwise we'd be back like a shot. Highly, highly recommended.

Sadly, a really disappointing Sunday lunch experience. Many items on the menu were unavailable (scotch eggs, pork, cauliflower cheese, Eton mess). Felt like we were searching the menu based on availability as opposed to choice. We were booked for 6.45pm, so towards the end of service which might account for the lack of availability. Items that we did order were missing items (turkey missing bacon and stuffing, sirloin missing gravy, coffee with no milk) - all dealt with my the staff, but really shouldn't need to be. Sadly felt like they were stretching what they did have to meet demand and as such, was pretty poor value for money... highlighted when we ordered a chocolate brownie, plus a mini chocolate brownie with coffee and both brownies were the same size. Sadly had to chase drink order despite restaurant not being particularly busy. Waiting staff really polite, friendly and apologetic but overall I wouldn't return or recommend. £120 for 4 mains, a couple of desserts and drinks. Needed a supper before bed which is never a great sign after dining out.

We have had meals at the Dun Cow several times previously and they have always been good but Thursday night was very disappointing. There were 10 of us and we had prebooked and selected our menu choices in advance. Only one person in our group had ordered a starter. When the meals came out to the table and we enquired about the missing starter, it was then brought out like a side order. The pizza that had been ordered was so over cooked. You couldn't cut it, it just snapped. It was returned and replaced, without question. I ordered Hunters Chicken; It was unlike any hunters chicken I'd had before. Rather than a breast of chicken it was more like a slice of chicken and was coated in bread crumbs on both sides with melted cheese on top. I couldn't actually taste the bbq sauce if there was any because this too was over done and dry. I asked for a jug of water, to actually help me get it down, not wishing to complain and taint the evening out. This took some time in coming. By the time it had arrived I had already been to the bar and requested a jug/bottle which was handed to me. The service left a lot to be desired. All in all very disappointing for the Dun Cow. Not what we expected. I must say I have been previously when it was much busier and not had any issues. Sadly it will be off my list for a little while.

Our room (2) was just two single beds joined together and the duvet wasn’t big enough, there was like a buzzing noise on our second night it was going all night long so we got no sleep. We did request the room we stayed in last year which was perfect but no reply when requested for the booking. We would have paid more to get that same room???? Breakfast was ok but would have been nice for some fresh fruit as well as the juices only tea and coffee on offer to help yourself, And you had to ask for sauces, not on table like in other places. Not a good experience this year like we had last year such a shame.

After ordering our meals there was a long delay in getting our food. One of the pizza's was totally raw and sent back. The other pizza was so small and the pulled chicken was definitely not pulled chicken! The replacement pizza finally arrived after we had all finished. The burger bun was burnt. I've had better fishcakes from Aldi. The long stem broccoli and spinach was cooked within an inch of its life! Spoke to the female manager who agreed to take the pizzas off the bill and went on to explain she'd had a problem with one of the chefs and she was running around like a chicken to get a replacement. Her words! This was a birthday celebration ruined. Won't be going back. Standards have dropped in the kitchen and management. Felt sorry for the waitress.

We visited the Dun Cow after seeing an offer for £20 off online when signing up to the app. On asking for our bill our server told us that we couldn’t use the offer in the first 24 hours after signing up - which seems ridiculous and wasn’t made clear online. We wouldn’t have visited had it not been for that offer. The staff and the manager were unhelpful and dismissive when we told them and we left the restaurant not wanting to return. We also thought that the quality of food had gone downhill since the last time we visited. The sirloin steak was very tough and hard.

I’ve been to the Duncow many many times over the years and historically used to love it there. However this is the 5th consecutive trip now where the service was really slow, as was the food, but when the food eventually came it was massively underwhelming. In terms of the meal we had yesterday. It took us a long time to get out drinks (to be honest, I’m not sure that area staff knew we were there, as she seemingly never came into our room). Once we had ordered, it took 30 minutes for our starter to arrive (which were at best warm). We then had the roast dinner and it’s was unfortunately one of the worst roast dinners I’ve ever had. The beef was SO over cooked, it was charred black on one side. The potatoes looked straight out the freezer (and barely saw the oven by the anaemic look of them). The seasonal greens included 2 pieces of broccoli. We ordered some cauliflower cheese as a side as well, the cauliflower was undercooked, yet also someone super dry. And in general was the driest (even though covering in gravy) and blandest tasting roast. We then had to go to the bar to ask for sauces, and more drinks as again our waiter disappeared and never came back. We actually didn’t bother eating most roast in the end, it just wasn’t enjoyable enough to bother with. I know sometimes things can go a bit wrong throughout a service. But I think after us giving it 5 attempts (which vary from breakfast, a meal on a week night, to Sunday roasts). That is quite enough chances. It’s just not the pub it used to be.. we won’t be back again sadly. (And I really do mean sadly, as that is where my partner and I had our very first date, so we had also loved coming historically).

I thought you would appreciate being made aware of our appalling experience at the Dun Cow, Rugby last night. My wife had booked a table at 7pm for my son’s 18th birthday. He is studying away from home in Rugby. When booking, it was proposed by your team that we could take a particular table given the special occasion. We felt that was a nice gesture. We arrived promptly at 7pm having made a 2 hour journey. The place looked to be in chaos and we were told our table wasn’t ready and we should wait at the bar for 5 minutes. That was fine and we ordered a bottle of (warm) champagne. 40 minutes later the previous occupant of a table (not the one that had been proposed - we were told unceremoniously that tables couldn’t in fact be reserved) were ushered away and we took our place. We left at 9.45 - that’s almost 3 hours later - having waiting for so long to order, then to get our starter and then the main courses - they came after a couple of hours. The table had been partially cleared. They were awful. For example Fishcakes like ice pucks chucked on a bed of boiled potatoes alongside wilted and partly decaying broccoli. Chicken snitzel on burnt ham and gloopy cheese which some chips chucked on the side. I won’t go on. It was all grim. At the end of the evening we were brought the cake we’d arranged to give our son - that was appreciated - but the scope for happy birthday had really gone. No offer of coffee or anything like that. And it turns out this morning we were overcharged for a bottle of wine that wasn’t in stock. It feels like insult to injury and we’ll have to pick that up separately and waste more time. We spoke to your team who I’m sure were doing their best. They apologised and explained 2 people had called in sick and the manager was doing the cooking. I think your training should extend to better communication of what to expect up front - we would have chosen to go elsewhere if those issues had been explained to us at the beginning. And you may want to review the entire management of the establishment. It was truly awful. You have an important responsibility in the hospitality sector to make these important occasions special. It has a huge impact when you make them third rate. Please don’t worry about offering a discount for a next visit - we won’t be returning and will be advising others to avoid. I hope you are able to intervene and ensure others don’t have to experience the disappointment and upset we did. Lancaster Family

Arrived without a booking on a Wednesday night at 7pm hoping for a table for two with my son for dinner. The place was very busy but did have at least 8 free tables that we could see. The scruffily dressed female manager seemed absolutely delighted to tell us that they were not taking any food orders because they were too busy and full suggesting we go over the road to an Indian restaurant instead which we found bizarre..I pointed out that we could see at least 8 free tables to which she replied no they are all booked which turned out not to be true in the end . I questioned with the bar staff how a chain pub cannot be serving food on a Wednesday night at 7pm and who made that decision and why didn't their website say that because had read the website prior to arriving nothing said that stop serving food when they feel like it or if it gets a bit busy? We were about to leave and the manager stopped us at the door and said she DID actually now have a table and we could eat.I presume because she was worried because I had asked those questions ? However I wish we had left it was awful awful awful. Ordered Sirloin steak, pie and mash and a side of Mac & cheese all of which were inedible and had to be returned to the kitchen. Steak was ordered medium ..came out rare, cold, full of fat with over cooked greasy tasteless chips that looked like they had been cooked in old cooking oil. Pie was not a pie ...was a casserole with shop bought puff pastry lid that was bone dry and crispy accompanied by half a scoop of dried up cold mash & two slices of cold dried up carrot. Mac & cheese side was baked to a crisp, rock hard and inedible. Called the waiter over explained and showed him the horrible meals...he said nothing, zero.nada just took the plates away no apology nothing he couldn't of been less bothered. I didn't want replacement because I knew anything else would be f the same quality. My son had a replacement steak which was slightly better but still woeful, the side of Mac & cheese was forgotten we had to ask it came after he had finished the new steak but again it was rubbish. The inept female manager never came to our table to apologise throughout instead rushed past giving a bizarre thumbs up asking if the new steak was ok...it wasn't actually but we couldn't be bothered by this time. I had no meal my son had two rubbish steaks served up . So in conclusion avoid at all costs. Beautiful building but the fires were not lit on a cold January night except for in the bar ...why not ? They charge restaurant prices but can't light the fires in winter ? Why not ? it makes such a difference to the whole atmosphere also the tables all had tea light candles on them but none were lit, why not ? The manager seems to revel in telling you it's chaos she can't cope and isn't that hilarious, welcome to the mad house ha ha she actually said suggesting we go over the road for a curry instead. Totally unprofessional and out of her depth for such a large busy establishment. She doesn't look the part, she doesn't act the part. Who turns customers away and seems to delight in the power that gives them ? Just odd behaviour. She also didn't look or act like manager she looked scruffy unkempt and un bothered. Needs a more competent manager to grip this place. As we were leaving we overhead the table off six next to us say ''oh well at least the desserts were ok'' !! suggesting they too were underwhelmed by their dining experience. We will not return ....probably go for a curry over the road instead !!

I would suggest that if a certain items on menu is not available , then diners should be told when given the menus not after waiting to order only to be disappointed. I am afraid my family will not be eating at the Dun Cow again as for the third time, service was slow, food unavailable ( how does a supposed competent hotel run out of fish and steak ? ). To top it all, the food we did receive was cold in the middle and hot on the edges. On notifying the manager who seemed nonplussed , the meals were removed but we then sat and waited too long for replacements . So told waitress and left , she did apologise. So being hungry we found a lovely pub with friendly smiling staff and steak and fish on menu, good service and reasonable prices. Good bye Dun Cow.

The village of Dunchurch is a lovely place and the Dun Cow is right at home there. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pub/diner had a great ambience and feel about it. The food that we had was excellent but there is a big BUT in all of this. On the list of the main courses there was a choice of 10 dishes, that all sounded delicious, but NOT ONE of them was vegetarian. The vegetarian options consisted of a burger (that can be bought at Tesco), a pizza or a salad. Really....! In this day and age the best you can offer is a burger or pizza.....! The menu online lists a veg ravioli as being available but this wasn't on the menu that evening and from what the staff said a vegetarian main course option hadn't been offered for a while. This would have been a 5 review but with the limited menu available for vegetarian/vegan customers only a three at this point. We would go back again but only if the menu is updated with more options.

Popped into the Duncow for a Saturday afternoon catch up with friends, and had pre booked a table. On arrival greeted by the duty manager Megan who was professional and friendly who explained about scanning and the track and trace protocol and to use the hand sanitizer available. Shown to our table where upon she took our orders and spent a very pleasant couple of hours. A good atmosphere with friendly and polite staff who where always on hand to take our orders. So a big thanks to Megan and the rest of the crew , Ryan, Dan , Luke for making it an enjoyable afternoon in these uncertain times.Pete.

We booked here for our second night in Dunchurch. Manager Danny gave a warm welcome on arrival. Our waitress, Niamh, also gave a warm and friendly greeting, she popped back a few times but not overdoing it. We were informed by both that was a slight menu alteration. Food was plentiful and delicious. A proper pub atmosphere.

This was a great pub dinner after a walk. The menu is as you would expect for a pub, a decent range of classic dinners but also with a number of different pizzas to choose from. The quality of the food was good, as was the service. Around a really good choice for dinner.

Haven't been to the dun cow this year so far but will definitely be visiting again soon. One of the best meals I've had and there were 6 of us that all eat out regularly and all the meals were fabulous. I had rack of lamb and others had steaks and fish. The service was amazing with one of the nicest waitresses who was attentive and thoughtful moving us to a quieter area so that we could chat together. We will be back very soon....

Ordered the duo of lamb and the shepherds pie had no lamb it, it was all potato, and the veg looked old and dry and discoloured, The salmon was extremely dry did not come apart easily had no flavour. I doubt we Will not return as this cost £70. For a place quoting fine dining this is definitely not the case. We were seeing family that we hadn't seen in a long time so felt it ruined the whole experience

We decided to have a late Sunday lunch today and booked a table at 4.00pm. It was very busy and we usually don’t go there at a weekend. We ordered fish and chips and a Sunday beef roast. The beef was inedible with a huge chunk of the end of a joint which was mostly gristle! My husband told the waitress and she said it’s probably because it’s late in the afternoon and the end of a joint. She suggested it would be better to come when it’s quieter in the week and the kitchen is less busy!! What a statement.....We were still asked to pay full price for a very poor roast. So disappointing and not what we had come to expect from the Dun Cow. We could have at least been offered a free coffee or tea but nothing except for the helpful suggestions from the waitress!

Tonight we dined at The Dun Cow at Dunchurch....my Son and and I had the chicken pie in Chardonnay sauce, which is a white wine sauce, but we were served a red wine gravy...why were we served a red wine sauce when the pie was cooked in Chardonnay??...My Husband had a sirloin steak which was absolutely full of gristle!!...the fried runny egg arrived 12 minutes after dinner was served...My Son is a chef, and I myself am a chef-de-rang silver service waitress...We do not recommend this restaurant...although Sophie the waitress did give us 50% off the steak and is to be recommended for her excellent service

It's our new local (pub) in the sense that it's local to our 2nd "home" which is a narrowboat that we keep at Dunchurch Pools Marina. They are well organized on the COVID front and the service was friendly and attentive. We had to opt for the vegan burger because the only other one (vegan Sunday roast) sounded a bit dull. More vegan options (and preferably a vegan menu) would be greatly appreciated.

The warmth and interest of the cosy pub was the only saving grace for our Sunday Roast. Undercooked veg, tasteless thin gravy, the worst roasties any of our group have ever had. Pre-prepared med veg on a roast? No love or care on the plate at all. Great atmosphere for a post-walk pint, or maybe a dessert, but avoid the roast.

Visited the duncow on Saturday evening with my mum. Good social distancing measures but still had a nice atmosphere. We had steak which I’m always a bit worried to get in a pub but it was lovely. Had a free bottle of Prosecco for my birthday too! We were served by Dan, who was great, really friendly and polite and let us know about the sanitising situation really well, which is nice actually because both my mum and I were shielding so it’s always a bit nerve wracking going out these days! I wanted to leave him a tip but didn’t have any change so this is your tip Dan! Take note management and give him a treat :) thank you for a nice evening!

Booked a table for 4 at 1.30 got to the restaurant in time and shown to table, waited about 15 minutes for drink order to be taken and around 30 minutes before food was ordered. The starters came at 2.20pm and were not very good but hungry so we ate them, at 2.50pm I enquired when we would get the main meal the waitress said she would find out but she never came back to us. At 3.00 I asked to speak to the manager to find out what the delay was and she said they were short staffed in the kitchen but shortly after the various main courses appeared. The food was very poor and not very tasty and considering the cost was overall not value for money, The manager agreed to give us a complimentary round of drinks for our slow service. It would have been nice if when we got to the restaurant if some member of staff had told us there was a delay in food orders then we could have made a decision whether to stay or not as we were going elsewhere and time was tight.Don't think it will be somewhere we will be returning.

Ate here a few weeks ago and food was good, decided to give it another go....Prawn cocktail to start....described as a mango salad...5 prawns on lettuce with 4 mango chunks thrown on isn’t a prawn cocktail in my opinion. Mains arrived, my partner had lasagne, I had steak. The lasagne was burnt on the whole bottom layer, they also served it with a garlic naan as had run out of garlic bread, not that they told us.My steak was ordered rare with veg instead of chips, steak arrived medium well with overcooked veg, cabbage brown. Both meals sent back.My steak came out cooked as requested but the lasagne was just cheese and pasta layers, no sign of beef. The waitress that served us was great, back and forth to her manager that didn’t make an appearance until we asked to speak to them. He was very pleasant and admitted he had seen the food we sent back and agreed it wasn’t what he expected to be served. When questioned about the lack of meat in the lasagne he admitted its brought in and not made on site so wasn’t the kitchens fault. Completely understand that the heat today hasn’t helped but from a professional establishment I would expect more. After avoiding this place for years as the food went downhill is unfortunately back on the avoid list.

Booked a table for sunday lunch Impressed with the customer service and the waiter was brilliant . Our beef is well with the beef My husband just had 3 lumps of gristle that had to go back to the kitchen and was given another little slither . We continued to eat and then it was my turn . I know I should have commented at the time but the waiter was so busy . Basically you do not get a lot of meat at best . We walked away disappointed . Tipped the waiter because he was sound . The menu states unlimited gravy , You dont get asked a second time so if you are a gravy fan I suggest you request upon ordering . During these times if the waiter needs to go off polishing the salt and pepper pots each time someone has used it I suggest you use disposable sachet with container wrapped up and disposed off . People will understand

Our whole experience was great. We were able to reserve a table in the bar area as we had two small dogs with us. We were a bit wary as this was our first meal out sitting inside a pub since the COVID outbreak. Everything was done well though on that front. The service we received was friendly and efficient. The waiter took the time to calm my nervy dog (he has a problem with unknown men) and was happy to provide the dogs with a bowl of water. The barman also noticed the pubs and bought them some treats later on. The food was delicious - the beef bourguignon especially. Deserts were equally as good (not your usual pub mediocre crap) - the brownie was to die for. Overall, we had a lovely meal in a lovely pub.

Went here expecting some really nice pub food but i can honestly say I have never been so disappointed with a meal. I ordered a meal which I had to instantly send back, only to be given another meal which was worse. Management were belittling and made us feel as though it was our fault we didn't like the food. It was essentially a wetherspoons standard heat and serve meal yet they were charging between £15/20 for it. Would recommend everyone to stay clear of this place.

We've visited this pub periodically for at least 35 years, and it's always been very pleasant, with log fires in winter, outdoor garden tables in summer, and plenty of parking, right in the centre of a busy village on a crossroads between Daventry, Coventry, Rugby and Southam/Banbury. During the past few years we think it's become exceptionally excellent, with a wide choice of meals, and plenty of offers and imaginative specials. Staff are consistently courteous and attentive, and there always seems to be room, although we generally book in advance. It's rare for anyone in groups who accompany us to have any complaints about any of the food, and most are absolutely delighted with it. There are few long delays either. Our only regret is that, like all eating places, it's currently closed due to coronavirus, so we're missing meeting here with friends and family during the current good weather.

Booked a table . They were very busy. Staff looked very busy. 20 minutes before I managed to flag down a waitress . 30 minutes before drinks arrived(with a big apology) total of an hour since we arrived and the meal arrived. Very nice food - well laid out . Table staff very helpful. Big shame about the service (which for the meal prices) was very poor hence the poor rating. Shame - we try and use local eating places to support them. Just not a good experience if you were looking for one hour and fifty minute Dinning experience then it would be right up your street

Took 2 members of my family for what use to be a fabulous restaurant. We arrived for sunday lunch at 12.45 as booked. Put us in a small room on the side, no one came and at 1.30 I went looking for anyone. Gentleman coming towards me wrapping an apron around his waist telling me that he didn't start until 1.30. Took drinks and food order. Another 15mins wait for drinks and then plates arrived with meat, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, parsnips and 4 roast potatoes. Sat another 5mins waiting for vegetables. By now all cold. Waiter came and asked if everything was ok. I am not usually the type to say anything but I was embarrassed and disgusted and told him so. Another one of the party told him it was the worst sunday lunch he'd ever had, the result was an offer of three free sweets. Declined asked for the bill and left. I certainly will not be returning. What a disappointment.

3 dishes ordered.Establishment could only manage to serve 1!!Went to visit at lunch time and ordered 3 dishes...one of which was a starter. Other 2 a main and a dessertAsked for the 3 to come out together as limited to an hours visit. One of the 3 came out quite quickly.Chased after 40 minutes(!!!) for the other 2.Gave it another 10 minutes and then had to ask for a refund as ran out of time and friend had of course finished eating long before. We asked the manager on shift if he had even chased up the order with the kitchen and he admitted “no as (we) are busy”.I would go back .... a table for two.One for me and the other for the person pointing a gun at my head ...

Attended on a Saturday night for a meal with my partner. Setting is pleasent but it is let down by poor service. Our meals arrived together which was a good start. I was surprised that they had no mayonaise but this wasn't an issue. I started to eat my meal and realised the hamburger was warm at best. They offered to replace but by the time the replacement arrived my partner had eaten her meal. This ruined the evening. A very poor show indeed. Furthermore there was no offer of discount or recompense. We certainly won't reccomend and won't be eating here again.

I booked a room at this amazing place as I was training at newbold revel. The room was amazing very clean and comfortable. The shower is incredible with strong water pressure and enough space to move about. The walls must be thin as someone was snoring very loud and this kept me from sleeping through the night but this is not the hotels fault. The room had coffee making facilities and the adjacent restaurant serves a complimentary breakfast but I opted for the full English for under 7 pounds. I would definitely recommend this very hospital and friendly place.
