It is always an enjoyable experience coming to No Limits in Newton Abbot (Devon). I have food allergies and they have a fabulous menu that can cater for so many whether that be allergies, coeliacs or vegan. I really like their ‘pay it forward’ scheme which helps provide food and drinks for people who are having a difficult time. Most importantly, it is brilliant that they are providing opportunities for people with various needs and it’s a pleasure to be served by such enthusiastic and happy staff :-)

Popped in on a Saturday late morning. Bacon sandwiches were fab, loads of perfectly cooked bacon, soft bread, a portion of really crispy chips on the side. Staff very friendly and efficient. Proper cup of tea. Look forward to returning when in Newton Abbot again.

Cracking little hotspot. Guinness is good. Food is reasonable, and the DJ of an evening is alright as well

I’ve been ordering the mixed grill at JD Wetherspoon pubs for close to 20 years (since around 2005) and somehow survived — until today. This was, without question, the most tragic excuse for a mixed grill I’ve ever had the misfortune of meeting. I should’ve taken a photo, but honestly, it would have needed a NSFW warning. The sausage was the only thing that looked like it had once been part of a living animal. The rest of it? Tiny, burnt, shriveled beyond recognition — like they’d fished it out of a house fire and thought, “Yeah, that’ll do.” When I politely mentioned it to the bar staff, I got the same canned response twice: “That’s the portion size.” Ah yes, because clearly the issue here was quantity, not the fact it looked like an autopsy report. Rather than perform CPR on what was left of my dignity, I asked for a refund. They gave it to me (plus a free Pepsi Max — thanks, I guess?), so for that, you scrape together one lonely star. Well played, JD Wetherspoon Newton Abbot. After 20 years, you’ve managed to serve up a mixed grill so bad it should come with a trigger warning. Bravo.
