The best restaurants serving British food in Yeovil South South Somerset South West

We are not from Yeovil, but had been recommended this pub as somewhere to hold my Dad's wake. I took my Mum for lunch a few weeks ago to check the venue out, and Tam showed us around and made our lunch so perfect. The food was really lovely and so was the room, so we decided then and there this was the right place. When we arrived on the day of the funeral, everything was already set up and and the whole room had been decorated really tastefully. The food was amazing (we agree with previous reviews that the home made sausage rolls are out of this world!) and plentiful, and Curtis (our lovely dedicated barman) just put out tupperware containers for us to take any left over food home at the end - which I thought was a really nice touch. They also made the extra effort to connect our own MP3 player to their sound system, which really meant a lot as it had all of Dad's music (and we didn't have time to do a Spotify Playlist). So - thanks everyone for making a hard day very easy and making us feel so welcome - and letting us stay as long as we did with no rushing us out. We'll bring Mum back very soon for lunch for sure!

Cake selection good and tasty. Just a pity about state of seating area. Half of the tables look tatty as do the chairs. Half of seating area needs a refurb.

This hotel is a little gem. We held my sister in law’s wake there a few days ago. Meg’s organisation and attention to detail was exemplary, nothing was too much trouble and she was so kind and welcoming on such a sad day. The buffet food she provided and beautiful home made cakes were delicious and amazing. The barman was very friendly and helpful too. All the guests who attended were very impressed with this venue and I can definitely recommend it to anyone who wants excellent service. Thank you so much Meg, you are a star !

Outside seating undercover so dog friendly. Inside seating spotless We always plan to have something new from their very extensive menu but.... the breakfasts are just so good that despite visiting almost every other month, A No % breakfast is a must. Amazing value for money, good quality sausages (the standard we judge every breakfast by) and always piping hot. Nothing fancy, more of a working cafe but spotless and great food at a fantastic value. They also do delivery and are very popular.

Such a lovely experience. Will definitely be back. The food tasted great and was really hot when it came out. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

A great place to eat, great beer and cider and the landlord is a fantastic bloke! You will love the place!
