Really enjoyed this place, for the first (first of many) time today! Ideal setting, on the edge of Dartmoor. Perfect for cyclists, walkers, workers, but especially families, who love food and animals. I’m a big lad with a large appetite, so I had the Cob breakfast with hash browns and a side of chips (for the table 😆), all very nicely cooked. Just about managed my fair share, but upset I forgot to leave room for the desserts, which looked amazing 🧁 🍰 Will be back soon 😁

Stayed at the Fisherman's Cot for 1 night and good job as the hot water wasn't working, reported this to staff at 4 pm ish and were told they would get a manager never came, then told they were waiting for the maintenance and would take 2 hours to fix, so decided to have dinner which was very nice and the waitresses very friendly, unfortunately the problem wasn't solved and were told it couldn't be fixed but we had hot water for the sink, not once were we offered anything and were told to contact the booking agent, once we had finished our dinner we went back to the room and about 5 minutes later we were offered a different hotel a drive away this was not possible as we both had a drink while at dinner and didn't want to go somewhere we didn't know. Real shame as the place is lovely but obviously don't really care about their customers and as we don't get to spend time just us very often very upset and angry the way the situation was handled.

We ended up here after a very unsuccessful morning of trying to find a cafe to have breakfast on or near the moors so as we were heading back into Plymouth we thought we'd stop here for some food and we weren't disappointed it was a really nice breakfast and the lady that served us was really nice, I haven't been here for a long time so it has changed since I was last here and I really like what they have done with it.

Been going here for years but today was the first time since a change of management,it's always been excellent,Not anymore.... The meat at the carvery was scraps instead of slices and there wasn't much of it,the veg was rock hard,Yorkshires were doughy and hard to chew, they ran out of gravy and said they will bring it to us,the roast was already luke warm and we had to ask for it to be warmed up,it came back still luke warm but hopefully the gravy would come soon and warm it up,wrong it was also luke warm and tasteless The price was £17.95 which is average these days but was no way worth it Such a shame as we used to love it here but won't be going back for a long time We don't usually complain but felt we had to and they knock half off The one star is for the coffee
