The best restaurants serving British food in Topsham Exeter South West

We had a family afternoon tea in a private room here. The food was exquisite and the staff/service excellent.

Was going there 4-5 x per week and spending 8 -12 £ per time . Have a somewhat greedy dog who wanted 2-3 small cheap dog biscuits. Staff made me feel very uncomfortable for taking more than one small dog biscuit. Live in town and never went back and dont plan. So an very cheap poor quality dog biscuit would have cost maybe 5p per week at the most but you lost over 50 quid per week!

Fantastic experience, really lovely staff, helpful & engaging , lovely food & accommodation. Bell greeted us, gave us directions to the accommodation & said to let her know if there was anything else we needed. Josh advised me on the wines & the choices on the menu. Bell, Josh & Daniel all looked after us at the table. A really lovely start to our holiday, Thank you

The order was taken down incorrectly. The soup had run out at 1:30. We had to ask for one of our drinks that hadn’t arrived with the other one. Our dog was certainly not welcome by one member of staff who sat as close to us as possible (for her own lunch) and then complained that our dog was sniffing the floor by her. I should add we were told where to sit on arrival. Not a relaxing time.

Ate with family and found starters overpriced . Main courses were fine , the steak pies were a good size , quality filling and well presented , fish pies were light on fish and no side dish of vegetables . Table service was good. Not the best value for money .

Had an incredible time at Lighter Inn in Topsham! Fantastic food, cozy atmosphere, and exceptional service. Highly recommend for a memorable experience!

As we had lovely meals at the Salutation in the past, we suggested it for a reunion with old friends. Obviously there has been a shift and the restaurant has aspirations of an up market restaurant. Sadly, it didn’t measure up. Very expensive, ridiculously small portions, the quality did not measure up to the price by a long shot. We were not only disappointed but very embarrassed. Will not be returning. .

We come hear to pick up a cake and ended up having my birthday meal hear as the landlady’s let us park at the pub as the parking meter was not working so we had a few drink and a meal as a thank you for halping us out yesterday

Brilliant customer service friendly would not go anywhere else best fish and chips in Exeter always packed Tel orders best on a Friday night
