The best restaurants serving British food in Topsham Exeter South West

What an amazing find, we had a night here and the food was fantastic, every course is was amazing, the room was so clean and breakfast as good as our evening meal, the staff were super helpful and friendly, we will definitely be back.

I’ve been here on 4 occasions and sadly all have been very similar. This is the last time I will be visiting. £18 for a cup of tea, two cakes and a latte? The cakes were quite dry. But my main issue is the service. The staff lack warmth and you feel like an intruder!

I booked a table for 4 we was very disappointed with the food 2 of us had fish and chips. And 2 of us had a roast dinner . It said with vegetables we where expecting a dish of vegetables no the vegetables where on our plate 1 carrot cut in half I bit of broccoli And 3 small roast potatoes we where still hungry when we left the blue ball Not going back there again

The order was taken down incorrectly. The soup had run out at 1:30. We had to ask for one of our drinks that hadn’t arrived with the other one. Our dog was certainly not welcome by one member of staff who sat as close to us as possible (for her own lunch) and then complained that our dog was sniffing the floor by her. I should add we were told where to sit on arrival. Not a relaxing time.

Used to love coming here. But yesterday not so much. Service was ok but the beef was tough although it was perfectly cooked. And broccoli was undercooked, stalks we’re really Music was too loud and not really easy listening too tunes. It seems to have lost some of its lovely ambience.

Great place to meet family and friends.

As we had lovely meals at the Salutation in the past, we suggested it for a reunion with old friends. Obviously there has been a shift and the restaurant has aspirations of an up market restaurant. Sadly, it didn’t measure up. Very expensive, ridiculously small portions, the quality did not measure up to the price by a long shot. We were not only disappointed but very embarrassed. Will not be returning. .

We come hear to pick up a cake and ended up having my birthday meal hear as the landlady’s let us park at the pub as the parking meter was not working so we had a few drink and a meal as a thank you for halping us out yesterday
