Hampson's pasties used to be the best around, popped in on Monday 12/08 and ended up paying £9.40 for two Luke warm steak pastys, the pastry was under cooked and hardly any flavor to the filling. I used to rate them 10/10 but now no better than a ginsters. Will stick to philps Now.

Extremely tasty pasties! We visited the main Philps in Hayle as a family of 6 with our dog. Dogs cannot go in the shop, but there is bench seating and table benches to the side of the building. There’s a great choice of pasties, together with sausage rolls, big pigs (similar to sausage rolls just half the length, with 3 times more meat inside) and a delicious cake selection. There is a gift shop and refrigerated drinks available too. We had 3 steak and cheese pasties and 3 sausage rolls. All were absolutely delicious and consumed very quickly. We had two iced fingers and a Rocky Road for pudding. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The main store has parking too! The owner kindly let us keep our car in the car park while we took a short walk along the harbour. We did ask permission)

Early Saturday evening we decided to give Sanders a try. The car park over the road is free after 6 pm so it was easy to access. The eating area was clean and well lit. My wife opted for the “Special” which was Sea Bass, whilst I took the cod & chips. We declined the Drinks List and the Cocktails Menu. My fried cod was very good, the chips I found a little dry. My wife found the Sea Bass served with salad and chips in a bucket very good. The Bill: £38.94 which was fair.

We ate here on a Friday evening on our journey back from Falmouth to Carbis Bay. We read the reviews on Google and thought we‘d give it a try as we were looking for a dog friendly location. We rang and it was suggested we book as it was quite busy being a Friday evening. What a gem, this pub is off the beaten track in a small village but the food was superb. It was full with a mixture of locals and visitors which made the pub very homely. My wife thought the Steak and Ale pie was the best she has ever tasted, packed with meat and light pastry. I had the ribs which were a special for the evening and we followed this with a shared Sticky Toffee pudding. If you are in the area you must go there but don’t follow the sat nav blindly like we did, go via the road behind the shopping centre off the A30 near Hayle.

Disappointed as I've had a good meal from here when I called in a year ago when in the area. This time the small cod (and it was small) was dry and chewy and the chips, although plentiful and well cooked, were an odd bright yellow colour. Never seen chips that colour before. For the best part of £10 it was poor. I wouldn't bother again.

Would be great if it was ever open! Have heard rumours about staff not being paid so guess that's why. Shame as the place does great coffee.
