Hampsons Butchers in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Went for our weekly pasties and pies, delicious as always, can't be beaten, looking forward to our next visit.

I cannot rate Hampsons, Foundry , highly enough. I rang early one morning to put in an order for that day. The butcher offered most kindly, to make them up there & then for collection later. They were so neatly & beautifully crimped , even carried out to the car on arrival. Many thanks Hampsons.

Wow. The best Cornish pasty I have ever tasted. They were fresh from the oven, and ready to go. Friendly staff.

I went into this shop believing it to be a proper traditional butchers shop. It’s not sadly and hasn’t been for some time. I was about to be disappointed until I started to notice my surroundings. What an absolutely beautiful, well stocked shop, deli, bakery, grocery bit of everything and everything done well. I came out with a proper haul, a feast of deliciousness. Cornish Hevva cake, no idea what it is other than tasty tasty tasty, lovely with a cup of tea. Saffron buns, toasted and dripping with butter, tea cakes will just never be enough again, hogs pudding, some freshly made sausages (still a butcher if you order so the friendly, helpful chap who looked after me said), an amazing hot pair of pasties for my wife and I and finally a gingerbread man for our Grandson, he loved it. II’ll be taking a cool box with me next time to stock up.

Delicious pasties and friendly service. Not a shop that is as noticeable as others in Hayle but great quality grub nonetheless.

I went into Hamptons today to buy a selection of there pasties and pies. We've just finished the pasties, I got the large steak ones and I've got to say they are absolutely gorgeous and tasty and they filled to the brim. These pasties are a meal in themselves. We're on holiday here in hale until next Monday, so we'll be definitely be back for more.

The man who served us was extremely friendly and kind. We had ordered two pasties, one to share. The lovely man cut the pasty in half for us which was very kind. Kind service makes such a difference. The pasties were very yummy and we were really delighted by our visit.

Heard that this place was reccomended so we tried the pasties. They were the best we have tasted. The filling and pastry was really good and customer service with a smile to. We will be back.

Alot of pasties are very flaky greasy and have alot of salt and chewy bits :( but these taste really traditional with beautiful cuts of meat and really nice vegetables. Really nice old fashioned wholesomeness. My favourite so far and I've tried all the best.

Collected my Christmas order of ham, cheese and pies which was spot on. I had to have one of their superb pasties for lunch. Highly recommend local family business.

Went to hampson in Hayle to get 2 pasty 1 large, 1 mediem pasty for dinner at Marazion. Parked up over looking the beach. We got pasty the Large was more extra large it was cut in half and both had half it was very nice pasty we had in a long time. We shall call at Hampson again. The other pasty tomorrow for tea with a few home made chips. Friendly, very polite, good service, and very helpful

Hampsons of Hayle make the best pasties I have ever tasted. My family and I have been coming for more than 20 years! The staff are always so kind and smiley and they really do make the best pasties ever. My family and I travel over 200 miles to visit Cornwall and will always come for a visit to Hampsons! It’s one of the highlights of the holiday! Would 1000% recommend to all! Thank you for what you do Hampsons 😊

Best steak pasties and I’ve tasted quite a few!! Great flavors, filled completely and wished they had a shop in Bristol!! Have been a visitor to Hayle over 30 years and always bring pasties home and also have friends who live in Hayle but visit me in Bristol so always come with Hampton’s pasties for me. Try them, you won’t be disappointed.

We’ve been going to Hampsons for some years now (not frequent but reglar!). They do marvellous pasties; just had a steak one and it was excellent enough to prompt this review. They also do excellent pies, both with meat or without and we’ve tried most of them over the years, including the fruit ones and desserts. We’ve never, ever, been disappointed

Although I live in Cornwall I wanted to send a family member who currently lives in Wales a supply of steak pasties from his favourite pasty shop. He misses his pasties so much! The pasties arrived on time and perfectly packaged, ready to put in the freezer. Really pleased with the service and he is delighted with his delivery! Thank you.

Best pasty I've ever eaten especially the chicken I've had pasties from all around Cornwall and nothing will come near to hampsons.

Stunning steak pasties and huge! You won't go hungry! We also got to try the cake there which was lovely as well! Staff are friendly as well.

Not very happy with your pasties since you re opened from lock down think you should call them veg pasties as thay are virtually all veg not good value have been having your pasties every week but will now go elsewhere

Today our family had medium pasties from Hamptons in Hayle. they was not great, the meat although plentiful was not that good. mine was a little under cooked (it was a little early for dinner when i picked them up) and it had a strange texture. The pasty was better than most but not the pasty i expected. sorry i was so hungry i did not get a picture, it was picture perfect. Was it under cooked i don't know?.

I regularly visit Hayle and always buy a few pasties from Hampsons. Mainly chicken or veg. Always first class. Friendly efficient staff. After many years of pasties I have not found better.

We got a takeaway sandwich from the copperhouse shop for lunch. We were quite late in the day so there wasn't much left but we had a turkey sandwich and a beef sandwich. Both were tasty and the lady working there was very helpful and friendly.

Been coming here for years for meat whilst on holiday but we had walked in to Hayle and faniced a few bits for a picnic in the local park and some meat for back at the caravan. I entered the shop and was greeted as usual but noticed no meat on sale, to which the chap explained due to health and hygene rules they had stopped being a butchers and just made pastties etc, he and a young lady was making them in the background. We bought some pasties and other items for the picnic and the food was very good

called in late in the day and got a Cornish, pastie was dry an the pastry was very hard and a little dried out, the filling was plentyful and tasty, it may be just dried up due to it being late in the day, will try again though, Staff was pleasant and the price was good

Had a stunning pasty and some marzipan pastries for lunch today. I used to get pastys here as a child and recently moved back to the area and am very pleased that I can get them again! This place puts Philps and Warrens to shame! I wholehartedly recommend.

Hamptons it simply the Best pasties in Cornwall !!! I live in Sunny Exeter Devon and we often jump in the van and drive to Hamptons just for a pasty ! And trust me I’ve done my research !! I use this shop whenever I want something really special. It might be some brilliant meat , local cheeses or one of their exceptionally good pies/pasties. I always forget to write a review but I finally got around to it. Hampsons has to be highly recommended.

I travel to Hayle several times a year and always buy a box of pasties to bring back up North. Never had a better pasty.

As a regular we do our best to ensure that good local traders remain in business by using them for our needs .

Great pastry,traditional filling and juicy. Have to carry out the large with both hands as so big. You won't be disappointed!

Best pasties we have tried - recommend Large Steak and Chicken pasties. Quality of meat and presentation is excellent. We ordered Rack of Lamb and Fillet steaks and both were superbly trimmed ready to cook. Also recommend their bags of Pork Scratchings!

We spent 4 days in Cornwall and ate pasties everyday. The meat in the steak Pasties at Hampsons of Hayle was the best meat by a long shot. There are other delicious pasties around but you can’t beat this one on meat quality.

My family and I have been using Hampsons for nearly 2 years now since moving back to Cornwall. The pasties that they make are just perfection you can order different fillings in the morning and have them ready for lunch time. The fillings are very genorous and very tasty. The pastry is the best around and is homemade that day which you can buy from them if you ask nicely!!. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming always serviced with a smile and jolly chat. I would recommend everyone try them once before buying from other pasty shops around as you wont be disappointed.

Whilst on holiday at Haven in Hayle, I popped in to get some bits and bobs for meals. The pork steaks were beautiful and fresh, as was all the other meat like mince etc that I purchased. This is a first class butchers which uses local produces

Nowhere makes pasties like the Cornish; the best ones are made by family businesses like Hampsons Butchers. The texture of the pasty was lovely, and the filling very generous, and full of taste.

i ordered some cheese and bacon pasty's from here because my daughter in law does not like onions, they were made to perfection lot's of bacon and cheese filling , very tasty

Tucked away from the high street is this butchers but it’s not just any butchers it also makes delicious pasties pies quiches and cakes. If you go early in the morning you can watch them making them while you order. Exceptionally clean bright and airy this butchers pasties are not to be missed. They even post them if you order.

Ordered pasties to take back home after a break in Cornwall; i was asked what time I’d be picking up and they were scheduled to be from the first bake of the day.

Bought pasties here to eat on the way home, they were the best we had all week having eaten three during the course of the week. Sausages made on the premises also caught our eye and to save having to go shopping as soon as we arrived home we decided to buy some as we had a cold box, these were also delicious. Would recommend.

Hampsons sells fresh meat, cooked meats, cheeses and pasties as well as cakes and pastries. Everything is good!

Sourced from local farms this butcher offers high quality meat. Also has diversed into cakes.Not as cheap as a supermarket but I've always come here this summer for my BBQ steaks. I can't say more than that.

Come here about once a week. Friendly staff. Allergy friendly. Great prices and very community orientated. Separate counters for cooked and uncooked so very hygienic as expected.

Often heard that these pasties were good but eventually tasted them and well worth the visit. They are well filled and huge. Well filled and not filled with slop like many others that are keen to take your money. Must be the best pasties in Cornwall so go on and treat yourself. BE Hungry.

We had tried other places in Hayle, but found these pasties were by far the best. Freshly made on the premises. Melt in the mouth meat. Delicious.

We were on holiday in Hayle and wanted to take some Cornish Pasty’s home with us. We ordered the day before and they were ready for collection the next morning, hot and fresh. And wow they were delicious. We also got our Sausages from here for our Breakfasts on Holiday and they were scrummy as my 6 year old said. Thank you.

Called and bought a large beef pasty and also a pie for tea. Great food and reasonable priced. You can also buy your meat from here and a very good selection..

Staying just around the corner from Hampsons we were able to avail ourselves of the delights of this butcher/pasty maker with the minimum of effort.

I'm sitting watching the Hayle River with a fantastic Hampsons medium steak pasty. What could be better! You can tell they're fresh as you can see them being hand crimped in the Foundry Square shop. Loads of good meat and perfectly cooked, this isn't my first and won't be my last from them. Cakes are good too!

Very well organised and prepared for the Christmas period. Easy ordering in advance, they seem to know exactly what you need for your family and my word the meat is delicious. Our Christmas Eve tradition is a Hampsons steak pie and Boxing Day pork and herb sausages for breakfast, cannot fault any of it! Well done to all the staff once again.

Hampson's traditional steak pasties are delicious. The medium size ones are huge. There are some pasties that can be a little too peppery for some tastes. But, in my opinion Hampson's are seasoned just right. The pastry is perfect too.

For many years I was a Philps pasty lover until I tried a hampsons traditional steak wow what a great I was missing. No indegestion just pure enjoyment.

Me gusta mucho sus empanadas. Son llena. Normalmente son deliciosos, pero después de haberlo pedido y estaban fríos. Como vivo bastante local tuve que llevar a casa con ellos se caliente.

De lejos, el mejor empanadas de la zona. He comido un gran número a lo largo de los años, de ahí mi cintura. Otros productos de panadería son buenas, como la carne.

Wow! If one wants a very good pasty in Hayle go here immediately. Not cheap but brilliant. Certainly worth every penny.There is another (in)famous pasty shop nearby. Avoid that place as the food is below par and the staff are very rude. Go to Hampsons and enjoy an amazing pasty.

This refers to the Hampsons Shop in Copperhouse, Hayle, which is a satellite shop to the main Hampsons in Foundry.It is always a delight to pop in to this shop.You are always greeted warmly by Emma, who hmakes time to have a pleasant chat with everyone, even though the shop can become very busy at lunchtimes.There is always a good selection of pies and cakes, as well as pasties and sausage rolls. You can have sandwich rolls freshly prepared as you wait, with a good variety of fillings.Emma also has a good selection of sweets to purchase.All in all, avery good place to visit to pick up some lunch or take something home for dinner.

Having searched the area for good bacon ribs, we finally found them here! Also offers a big range of meats, cakes, pasties etc.

Tried Hampsons sausage rolls for the first time, have to say they are without a doubt the best most tasty well priced sausage rolls around, no contest ! Yes I'm a guts so had a pasty as well, absolutely beautiful perfect mix of steak and seasoning. Also had some stunning gravy in the last quarter, that to me is the cherry on top . Mrs Hampson you really are the pasty queen. Please never retire :) proper ansum Also bought some sausages, trust me try them they are outta this world, no gristle, bone in sight just a beautiful taste and the best in my honest opinion in Cornwall. Thanks to all the staff and owners for always having a smile and a friendly welcome.

Popped in at lunchtime for pasties and a quiche and was NOT disappointed. Full to the brim with meat and veg the pasties were succulent and well seasoned. The quiche is also filled to the brim.

Hi!We always buy a whole load of your amazing pasties & pies every year when we holiday in Cornwall. Packing them into whatever space we can find in our car boot is the very last thing we do before journeying home; this has been our custom for donkey's years. However, our insatiable appetite for these delicious goods (the very best in the west) is growing much faster than we can find the time to drive all the way to Hayle from Battle in East Sussex more frequently just to stock pile our freezers. Every year we always think we've bought enough from your amazing shop, but have to report that they run out very quickly once they've left your premises and arrived at our home! We need a quick fix solution. Do you accept orders for long disistance delivery? and would they survive such a journey? My husband and I have been going round Cornwall taste testing every where we can, and now we can truly say Hampson's Pasties are by far the best! Particularly the steak!

I ordered pasties to take up to Derbyshire on the train, so when I collected them Mrs Hampson kindly boxed them and taped the box up to make it easier to travel. They were a resounding success with our friends, do not underestimate the size of them, I got 2 large and 4 medium and my friend and I shared a medium, they were how I imagine proper Cornish Pasties to be, delicious. Service was also excellent.

what better time is there to do a review while eating the goods, the proof is in the pudding after all. delicious as they get while on holiday go visit hampsons. park in asda across the road and take a walk over grab yourself a pasty and enjoy.

each week i travel from penzance to hayle and buy a steak pie and a chicken and ham pie the taste is far better than your run of the mill pies you can buy anywhere in cornwall the lady that makes them should give her self a big pat on the back

This butchers provides the best pasty in Cornwall. Hayle is blessed with Warrens, Philps and more excellent pasty makers but Hampsons are by far the best

We always bring home the steak pies when we visit Hayle. The best by far, even the locals recommend the pies.

if you want the tastiest pastie around you will not get better than this place, if you have the large pasty then you won't need anything to eat for the rest of the day. top quality butchers. I would recommend this Butchers is busy but that is testament to the quality

started going here again after a lot of years living in pz tyats why i have not been any way iv did love philps pasties but have been there 10 time this year and they cant seem to cook them right i Will give more details on a Philips review as this review is to say how good hampsons are good size cooked lovely you actually taste the swede in it proper job will be coming back more went passing throw hayle you got my vote as for Philips please cheak out up and coming report p.s well done hampsons c u soon also like to add hampsons made the pastys for our wedding and they where proper job many moons ago

Best butcher I have been to in ages. Pies are so lovely. No wonder they are so popular. Staff so friendly to. Wish this shop werent hundreds of miles away from me. Must visit if in the area. Had fresh produce such as chicken, sausage & bacon plus their pies and cakes. All wonderful. X

Saw the signs for Hampsons and stopped off for tea... two pieces of fillet steak... yes not the cheapest but excellent treat for tea... little wonder they have a tripadvisor certificate of excellence!

We have Pasties for tea every Thursday. We ring on the morning, they put them by for us & we collect them after the afternoon school run!!Friendly people, fantastic pasties & their pork scratchings are to die for too!!Don't go anywhere else for your traditional, Cornish pasty!!

Local butcher selling top quality local meat. Also home made real Cornish pasties, and a selection of meat pies. Well worth a visit.

Went in with Beryl salivating outside - edged through the queue and ordered. Cheeky cow behind me tried to half inch the last large cheese and onion but I had her number. Boom. Ordered. Paid for. Gave it to my lad by mistake and he had half. Lesson to be learned here folks - listen to the nice man in Anglesey about Barbara, don't be led by Beryl.... She is massive

Great pasties. We got the frozen ones to cook at home. This is the third time we have done this. Great tastes :))

Took the family in to try a local pasty and they were still as good as I remembered.Piping hot well seasoned and lovely pastry .Avoid the massive queues at Philps and venture a few paces from the Main Street and you'll be returning time and time again .Be long queue of locals at lunchtime proves it .

Found this shop after stopping in for fish & chips nearby the evening prior. Went back the next day to check out the pasties. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and these were by far the best pasties we had on our trip to Cornwall. Not only that, but very reasonably priced and use local meats. Would highly recommend!

Excellent pasties, pies, savouries and desserts. Excellent staff and it's not a bad butcher's shop as well. I view it as fortunate I only holiday near to Hampson's as my clothes and shoes would probably all need to be a bigger size if I resided within striking distance!
