We ordered a large quantity of steak and cheese pasties for a party and they were delivered hot to our venue. It was nice to have a bought pasty with good quality meat and very tasty also with the right level of seasoning. Along with that the service was excellent

Hands down the best pasty I had in Cornwall. Everything was perfect. The pastry and the beef and potatoes were cooked to perfection with plenty of seasoning in the right amounts. Pasties seem so simple to make, but are an art form to get right. This bakery does it right. Mic drop.

I have visited Cornwall every year since I was a wee boy. Every year, we try lots of pasties on the quest to find the best pasty. We visited Chacewater today and tried their pasties, not having read any of the reviews and I have to agree with the reviews that these are the nicest pasties we have ever had. The pastry especially was amazing! Lovely and peppery meat with a good distribution of veg too. Would highly recommend.

Called in on way home for a couple of cream cakes for afternoon tea, very nice but grossly overpriced at £4.80 !, I questioned the price in case I had misheard but no, to my undying shame I paid the price. They were very nice but not worth that price , won't be going there again.

I took a detour to this bakery on the way to Truro as I had read they sold excellent pasties. Well I'm glad I did. My parents and I have eaten pasties from all over the two counties and these are some of the best if not the best we have eaten. Lovely pastry and succulent filling with a gravy that forms in the bottom as you munch away. The cakes and pastries looked lovely as well although I didnt try any. I pre ordered on the phone and found the service was easy and very friendly.

All credit to this local bakery for opening after lockdown and finding a way to stay COVID safe while serving customers. They've simply put a table across the doorway, which now serves as a counter, over which they can pass their baked goods without the customer stepping inside. They make a very good pasty, with pastry of well-judged texture and thickness, stuffed with meat and veg in the right proportions. They're sold hot--I didn't eat mine for a while and it kept its heat, as a traditional pasty always did. Needed a little salt to taste but was otherwise an unexpected treat. My first visit to Chacewater, where there are very few shops; so the bakery is especially valuable in this location.

I think you need to have sampled many Cornish pasties before voting for one 'brand' in particular. I have eaten many from places recommended as being the best. However, it is my opinion that the pasties from Chacewater bakery are consistently excellent. A good amount of meat, seasoning and moistness. I now keep a stock of raw frozen pasties at home and have no trouble getting the plumber, carpenter, electrician etc to come (around lunchtime often)! We had 100 pasties delivered for a family do at 8.30pm on a Saturday night. They were clearly freshly cooked, piping hot and eaten (scoffed in fact) in no time, even by some who claimed not to like pasties!!!

This bakery hidden in Darkest Cornwall bakes the best pasty in the county (which therefore means in the world of course). They also have other savoury bakes such a quiche and tarts but their pasty is the pièce de résistance. They make a variety of fillings but I only every buy their standard steak pasty. The pastry is light and delicate and unlike many pasties I have eaten in Cornwall they never give me a moments indigestion. The vegetables are fresh tasting and the steak mouthwateringly tasty and and cooked just right. I cannot praise this delicacy of theirs enough. Like many dishes, it is a deceptively simple thing to cook because there is art and experience required to get it just right.I advise any foodie to make a detour to Chacewater Bakery (right in the centre of the village main street) for a real lunchtime treat. Comfort food at its best. It's not far from Truro, Camborne or Redruth.

I was first seduced by a Chacewater Bakery pasty shortly after they first opened for business. I have spent over fifty years sampling pasties from all over Cornwall and have reached the conclusion to my exhaustive research: Chacewater Bakery is my absolute favourite and I always recommend them to friends with the result that their previous favourites are batted very firmly into second place. Nor is this standard of excellence limited to the pasty; all their other baked on the premises pastries and pies are great value, tasty and satisfying.Staff always cheerful and welcoming

Hampson's pasties used to be the best around, popped in on Monday 12/08 and ended up paying £9.40 for two Luke warm steak pastys, the pastry was under cooked and hardly any flavor to the filling. I used to rate them 10/10 but now no better than a ginsters. Will stick to philps Now.

My wife and I ate here last night and thoroughly enjoyed the food and a lovely bottle of wine. We had three dishes each (including 5 different ones) and each was as delicious as the last. We weren't sure how full we'd feel after three dishes but it's amazing how quickly they fill you up. We still had room for a plate of cheese and a shared dessert though! Well done to the new owners, a completely different dining experience in the village and we're sure it's going to be a big hit! The service was excellent too! Good luck!

Lovely little cafe to have breakfast at. The avocado on toast is one of the best avo on toasts I’ve had, seasoned very well and the pico de gallo was a lovely addition. The poached eggs were well cooked, with no runny whites. The pancakes were lovely, light and fluffy and the compote and clotted cream was yummy. I also got the halloumi burger, which I wasn’t a fan of. For a big ciabatta roll I only got 3 slices of halloumi, which weren’t overly thick either. It didn’t cover the whole sandwich so there was half the roll left over. The chill jam wasn’t the best I’ve had either. This was 2/5. Everything else, was amazing. Even the latte and orange juice was fresh and the coffee was good. It’s a friendly atmosphere. What I would say is we visited Cornwall during a storm, and the cafe had the door propped open. This made the front of the shop very cold, we got a seat at the back and the cold wasn’t an issue there. They don’t take cash, which is annoying but I guess normal now. I did want to go back, but had no money on my card so it was a shame I couldn’t eat there again.
