Decent fish and chips, slightly on the pricier side and seemed quite slow service (10 minutes for an order) when the shop was very quiet

Food is simply amazing 🤩…… the batter was exquisitely fresh so the crispness was inherent. We ordered a hallomi slices battered , that was the best I ever had in my life. The presentation and the taste of that dish was next level. I will definitely come again to this place on my return to Cornwall. ❤️

Sensational. Ordered 5 meals and some sides on line. Arrived at stated time and the all the food was ready in 5 mins. Very tasty and delicious, the gluten free batter was banging too.

We ate here tonight. Never like to write negative reviews but the food was so poor, I simply had to. Not only was the pizza, fish and chicken the cheapest and nastiest (and thankfully smallest) you will ever likely taste, the chips were just, well, bad. Seriously, any chippy, anywhere, is better than this. For the prices they charge (fish and chips £22!!) I was kind of shocked. Utter, utter rip-off. Avoid.

Ordered on click and collect. On arrival food wasn’t ready Then fish was cooked but had to wait 10 mins for more chips so all of the order was late with cold fish and chips and half had cold scampi and hot and cold chips

We are down on hols and on our way to a different fish&chip shop we always use but it was closed so went to sanders hayle. Clean /fresh looking,staff very friendly and food was amazing thankyou sanders we will definitely come bk again 😀

Just returned from 2 weeks abroad and was tired and hungry. Was passing Sanders and thought I need fish and chips! First time ever trying their food and have to say it was fantastic! The cod was whale sized and cooked to perfection and the chips were also great. I enjoyed it so much I was almost tempted to go again the following night as I still hadnt been shopping 😂 will definitely be going back soon

Lovely fresh fish and chips and piping hot but a very small portion of chips one portion of chips was practically scrappy bits of chips - not value for money due to small portion - will go to take away in future better value

10/10 fish and chips. Milky white haddock, crisp batter that melted in the mouth. Crispy chips, good portion sizes. Clean and modern shop. Special mention to the head fryer (sorry I didn’t get your name) who was happy to take the skin off the fish for me and was very friendly and accommodating. We will return!!

Good fish and chips but service not brilliant

Visited here twice once for a sit down meal & one take out & both times the food was fabulous. Fish fresh & juicy how it should be & chips just right & a good standard portion. Highly recommended to anyone visiting this establishment. Plaice was the stand out in terms of taste according to my wife. Restaurant was friendly efficient & welcoming & we hadn’t booked as Saturdays was busy yet the waitress found us a table. Excellent service alround 👍

Amazing service, great waiter and great Atmosphere and restaurant lovely seating and just an excellent vibe. As for the food my pizza was huge it tasted amazing ! When the bill was given there were jellibeans. Nothing below excellent it was outstanding.

Best fish and chips I have ever eaten. And I've eaten a lot of fish suppers! Crisp, golden chips, lightweight batter and fish with taste!! Five gold stars and a merit mark!

Service was good,but food very average for quite alot of cash.No flavour really.Wouldnt go again.Everything is extra,peas etc.Soon adds up.

Early Saturday evening we decided to give Sanders a try. The car park over the road is free after 6 pm so it was easy to access. The eating area was clean and well lit. My wife opted for the “Special” which was Sea Bass, whilst I took the cod & chips. We declined the Drinks List and the Cocktails Menu. My fried cod was very good, the chips I found a little dry. My wife found the Sea Bass served with salad and chips in a bucket very good. The Bill: £38.94 which was fair.

Based on today's experience and have to say I wasn't really impressed. I have a slight disability where I occasionally need the toilet without much warning. Both of the toilets ran out of toilet paper which could have been embarrassing if unnoticed. I had to mention it 3 times and even then the lad didn't place any paper in there. I've noticed over the last couple of months that the standards have dropped slightly and I only went back today for the benefit of the doubt. I won't be going back as it clearly showed that he wasn't too bothered about making sure that the toilet facilities were fit for purpose. I went in after 15 minutes of opening and should have made sure something like that was checked before the doors opened. The food is not as good as it always used to be. Quite disappointed with Sanders.

I’m not a local so perhaps it’s standard for Cornwall but will probably try somewhere else next time to get more value for money.

Firstly the price, thought it was expensive for what you got. Portion size not that great which is an easy win if you're charging a lot at least you can easily give the perception of better value. Service was ok and food came relatively quickly as it was cook to order for pretty much everything. Fish was lovely, chips average and peas tasted like they were tinned. I'll try somewhere else next time as I felt I got little value for £12.90 for fish chips and peas to takeaway. Too many fish & chips shops spending lots of money on fancy boxes that just go in the bin and we are paying for them in the price!

We sat in the restaurant. Staff were polite, and quick (as it was nearly empty). Food portions were good sizes and tasted nice and fresh. For fish chips & small amount of mushy peas, and one burger with two soft drinks it was just shy of £45. They don't add a service charge, but when you pay, they have an option to to add 10, 25 or 50% tip if you wish. Next door they have a take away which was much buisier and the prices seemed a lot lower. In my opinion the restaurant is very overpriced, and possibly why it was empty.

Ordered online for collection. Food was freshly prepared and ready on time for our collection slot. Ordered regular cod and chips x 2, jumbo sausage and chips, a child's cod & chips, 2 pots of curry sauce and a pot of mushy peas. The portions were really big and the food tasted amazing. It was all packaged well and was still piping hot when we got it back to the holiday park we were staying at. Staff were lovely and friendly and couldn't ask for better food or service. Prices were also fair for the quality and portion size. Thought it was amazing value for money. We will be back for more when we are here next on holiday.

We were recommended Sanders and were not disappointed. We pre-ordered hake and chips and jumbo sausage and chips to collect. Although they were very busy on a Friday night our meals were only 5 minutes late. The fish was excellent and the batter on both the fish and sausage was delicious light and not at all greasy. The chips were also very tasty. We would recommend.

Lovely fish, chips and peas. Decent size fish and good potion of very nice chips, mushy peas lovely too. And gave me a huge bag of scraps (unsure if charged) Cost £25 for Cod, chips, mushy peas, bag scraps Small cod, small chips, mushy peas. It wasnt cheap but I don't think any fish and chip shops are these days. Would definitely return

Excellent, a place that does supply what it states on the menu ie Cod+Haddock not a substitute like Coley, staff service with a smile.

I've just had the most perfect meal in Hayle Sanders Fish + Chip restaurant: pan fried salmon fillet with salad + chips. Followed by a gorgeous fudge cake + cream, not too rich or sweet.

Another but better visit to sanders good atmosphere and friendly staff but best of all the food I had homemade fish cakes and they had lots of cod in them and homemade slaw was yummy would definitely recommend if your in the area it does get busy well worth the wait . Take away or eat in .

The best fish and chips by a mile - absolutely outstanding haddock, fluffy batter, salty chips. We click & collected our order, everything was piping hot and well organised. Nothing to improve!

Very disappointed, ordered for pick up, and found the food just sat on the shelve waiting and going cold. The food wasn’t even warm. Must of prepared the food soon as the order come in, even though I order for pick up at 3pm to collect at 4pm. No common sense, to pack it much closer to the collection time or even put it under the hot plate. Got home and binned it all.

Great food, it was a takeaway so can’t really score the atmosphere. The service was good, they had run out of bottles of vinegar to sell. The lady behind the counter went out of her way to give me some in a curry sauce pot. We actively pursue fish and chip shops wherever we go and this is one of the best. The batter was excellent, the chips were excellent. I am critical in my reviews and the fish was almost a five and not quite a five but great nonetheless. You have to be very careful in many touristy towns. The food is often mass produced. I like finding places like this as I know I’m getting real food. You cannot go wrong going to this place.

Lovely place but wow do you pay the price to sit in, the staff were lovely and understandably busy on a Friday evening in the Peak of the summer holidays, a long wait and incredibly expensive for small portions, topped off with being charged £1.65 for a small glass of tap water. As local as we are unfortunately would not come again which is a shame.

The word "Elite" comes to mind. Honestly the best fish and chips ever. The curry sauce is phenomenal

The food was really nice good portion for both adults and kids. But the service was horrible the women sat around talking amongst themselves I had to repeatedly try and get their attention but they would look and not acknowledge me. Until I had to raise my voice to grab their attention but even still they did not serve me. The only waiter who did serve us was David. I did feel slightly discriminated in service compared to the other customers that were present at the time.

Lady in Tesco garage Penzance recommended and so glad we followed her advice. Lovely tasty food which was enjoyed by all. Waited a little while but it was busy. Would definitely go again when in the area.

Good food and lots of choice, not just fish and chips. Well worth waiting for. My daughter and I shared half a roast chicken and large chips and couldn't finish it!

Visited here a few times on a our week in Hayle. Great choice of food and Gluten Free options are available too! The 1/2 chicken was delicious, highly recommend. Portions were generously sized.

We were late looking for something to eat last evening and happened to find Sanders. We were greated by a friendly lady, and took our order without any fuss. The cod supper was hot and perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend Sanders.

Not recommended. Walked in to order. Waited 45 mins before chasing up my order. The young lady who served me shrugged her shoulders but a more 'mature' lady apologised as it hadn't been processed. Chips soggy when arrived. First & last visit

Ate here on Monday evening, the place was busy with a great atmosphere. Service was top notch with explanation of specials and a new dessert menu option Fish was the best I’ve had and being from Ireland that was a surprise! Bottomless chips is another great addition to the menu. If you are visiting Cornwall this is a MUST!

Fantastic fish and chips which were very very tasty, what annoyed us was the fact that when we asked for kids meals the lady asked if we wanted fish goujon’s or a small fish and chips. We elected for the small fish and chips, unknowingly these were almost double to price! Overall nice food but very expensive.

First place we tried for fish and chip supper and can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed it. The girl that served was friendly and so helpful, even made us a peppercorn sauce for the chips. She also recommended where to get the best Cornish Pasties.

Delicious fish, chips and curry sauce, don't forget the gerkins. 2024. We walked into the chip shop and wow its had a complete overhaul. It's bigger, brighter, with more choice on the menu. Its even more welcoming. The staff are friendly and the fish and chips cooked to perfection.

Newly refurbished and easy to collect takeaway, only shop that uses just oil for frying so suitable for those who don't want beef dripping used : vegans or others who have a medical or dislike for that.

To be fair the food is good BUT .... and it's a huge BUT .. Why oh why does it take so long from ordering to actually getting the food ? It's like iv been the only customer in the shop , she takes the order then I wait ... the guys out back cooking NEVER have ANYTHING ready even chips are cooked to order, I order chips and curry sauce for my lad it takes a good 20 minutes.. other people walk in and we literally stand there looking at each other thinking why is it taking so long ???? Some people just ordering sausage and chips waiting a good 20 / 25 minutes ???? The warmers are EMPTY EVERY TIME NOTHING PREPARED NOT EVEN CHIPS ?? sorry but its not acceptable and come high season they are going to find customers walking out , if its like this in the take away I dread to think how long it takes in the restaurant ??? Seriously guys pull your finger out and take it seriously, at least prepare chips ??? Also not accessible for my sons wheelchair

Fish was lovely, curry sauce was nice but not very warm. Not keen on the chips, were of dry consistency like oven chips, I personally prefer a slight greasey chip. But all was extremely clean and well presented.

We visited the newly built fish restaurant at Sanders on Friday .Our group of four sat by the window and were impressed by the new and bright decor making the whole atmosphere very welcoming. The food was excellent, specially the sharing fish platter, the service was friendly and speedy . We will certainly visit again !😀

Ordered two fish and chips via their app. arrived at the pick up time and the shop and restraurant was full, it was their reopening evening. walked in and picked up the order, very good service and fair play to the management the new set up looks fantastic. Good sized portions the chips were nicely cooked as was the fish with a nice crisp batter. well worth a visit
