The best fish and chips by a mile - absolutely outstanding haddock, fluffy batter, salty chips. We click & collected our order, everything was piping hot and well organised. Nothing to improve!

Really good fish and chips. The fish feels more lightly battered than up north but I actually liked that.

Very disappointed, ordered for pick up, and found the food just sat on the shelve waiting and going cold. The food wasn’t even warm. Must of prepared the food soon as the order come in, even though I order for pick up at 3pm to collect at 4pm. No common sense, to pack it much closer to the collection time or even put it under the hot plate. Got home and binned it all.

Great quality food, little bit of a wait, not too long at all, but well worth it to have everything freshly cooked. Thoroughly recommend.

Great food, it was a takeaway so can’t really score the atmosphere. The service was good, they had run out of bottles of vinegar to sell. The lady behind the counter went out of her way to give me some in a curry sauce pot. We actively pursue fish and chip shops wherever we go and this is one of the best. The batter was excellent, the chips were excellent. I am critical in my reviews and the fish was almost a five and not quite a five but great nonetheless. You have to be very careful in many touristy towns. The food is often mass produced. I like finding places like this as I know I’m getting real food. You cannot go wrong going to this place.

Lovely place but wow do you pay the price to sit in, the staff were lovely and understandably busy on a Friday evening in the Peak of the summer holidays, a long wait and incredibly expensive for small portions, topped off with being charged £1.65 for a small glass of tap water. As local as we are unfortunately would not come again which is a shame.

The word "Elite" comes to mind. Honestly the best fish and chips ever. The curry sauce is phenomenal

The food was really nice good portion for both adults and kids. But the service was horrible the women sat around talking amongst themselves I had to repeatedly try and get their attention but they would look and not acknowledge me. Until I had to raise my voice to grab their attention but even still they did not serve me. The only waiter who did serve us was David. I did feel slightly discriminated in service compared to the other customers that were present at the time.

Came in on a rainy day, friendly staff, seemed quite high end but prices were still reasonable, lovely place for lunch, fish was fresh and pizza pretty good

Lady in Tesco garage Penzance recommended and so glad we followed her advice. Lovely tasty food which was enjoyed by all. Waited a little while but it was busy. Would definitely go again when in the area.

Good food and lots of choice, not just fish and chips. Well worth waiting for. My daughter and I shared half a roast chicken and large chips and couldn't finish it!

Visited here a few times on a our week in Hayle. Great choice of food and Gluten Free options are available too! The 1/2 chicken was delicious, highly recommend. Portions were generously sized.

We were late looking for something to eat last evening and happened to find Sanders. We were greated by a friendly lady, and took our order without any fuss. The cod supper was hot and perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend Sanders.

Not recommended. Walked in to order. Waited 45 mins before chasing up my order. The young lady who served me shrugged her shoulders but a more 'mature' lady apologised as it hadn't been processed. Chips soggy when arrived. First & last visit

Ate here on Monday evening, the place was busy with a great atmosphere. Service was top notch with explanation of specials and a new dessert menu option Fish was the best I’ve had and being from Ireland that was a surprise! Bottomless chips is another great addition to the menu. If you are visiting Cornwall this is a MUST!

Fantastic fish and chips which were very very tasty, what annoyed us was the fact that when we asked for kids meals the lady asked if we wanted fish goujon’s or a small fish and chips. We elected for the small fish and chips, unknowingly these were almost double to price! Overall nice food but very expensive.

First place we tried for fish and chip supper and can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed it. The girl that served was friendly and so helpful, even made us a peppercorn sauce for the chips. She also recommended where to get the best Cornish Pasties.

Delicious fish, chips and curry sauce, don't forget the gerkins. 2024. We walked into the chip shop and wow its had a complete overhaul. It's bigger, brighter, with more choice on the menu. Its even more welcoming. The staff are friendly and the fish and chips cooked to perfection.

Fish n chips were very nice. Needed more Salt n Vinegar if anything. Still enjoyed and would def go there again

Newly refurbished and easy to collect takeaway, only shop that uses just oil for frying so suitable for those who don't want beef dripping used : vegans or others who have a medical or dislike for that.

Superb lunch stop, best haddock and chips ever, so fresh and delicious! Perfect batter, crispy, fresh oil, everything is just quality, don't change a thing, thank you, we will be back.

To be fair the food is good BUT .... and it's a huge BUT .. Why oh why does it take so long from ordering to actually getting the food ? It's like iv been the only customer in the shop , she takes the order then I wait ... the guys out back cooking NEVER have ANYTHING ready even chips are cooked to order, I order chips and curry sauce for my lad it takes a good 20 minutes.. other people walk in and we literally stand there looking at each other thinking why is it taking so long ???? Some people just ordering sausage and chips waiting a good 20 / 25 minutes ???? The warmers are EMPTY EVERY TIME NOTHING PREPARED NOT EVEN CHIPS ?? sorry but its not acceptable and come high season they are going to find customers walking out , if its like this in the take away I dread to think how long it takes in the restaurant ??? Seriously guys pull your finger out and take it seriously, at least prepare chips ??? Also not accessible for my sons wheelchair

Fish was lovely, curry sauce was nice but not very warm. Not keen on the chips, were of dry consistency like oven chips, I personally prefer a slight greasey chip. But all was extremely clean and well presented.

We visited the newly built fish restaurant at Sanders on Friday .Our group of four sat by the window and were impressed by the new and bright decor making the whole atmosphere very welcoming. The food was excellent, specially the sharing fish platter, the service was friendly and speedy . We will certainly visit again !😀

Ordered two fish and chips via their app. arrived at the pick up time and the shop and restraurant was full, it was their reopening evening. walked in and picked up the order, very good service and fair play to the management the new set up looks fantastic. Good sized portions the chips were nicely cooked as was the fish with a nice crisp batter. well worth a visit

I ate here with 2 friends recently. We all had standard fish and chips. We thought the Fish was tasteless and very small. Given it cost over £50 with 3 soft drinks it was not good value for money. Also there were quite a few bones in the Cod which is not what we expected. We definitely would not eat here again.

Great food and nice surroundings.

We arrived at the new restaurant to a warm welcome, the place looks amazing, the staff were so accommodating and the food was outstanding, every course. We had the king prawn starter and prawn cocktail both generous size , For main we had the dish of the day the treo of fish with salad and truffle oil chips ( soo good) and cod with salad and chips. For dessert we both had the creme brûlée. I can not praise them team enough, it was a wonderful evening with excellent food, so lucky to have such quality close by

Only went to Sanders because highlanes are closed . Sanders is no comparison to highlanes . Sanders are bland and left an aftertaste which isn't nice.

Excellent fish and chip shop, take away or eat in. We ate in and the staff were all lovely and friendly. Very good service and no complaints at all about the standard of the food. Prices in line with other similar shops in the area, not too expensive. Can recommend if you are at the Viaduct end of Hayle.

The worst fish and chips ever? How can it take so long to produce something that is so dry it’s inedible. Surely if it’s that dry it must have sat around for ages so how can it take so long to be put in a box? The final insult is how can you run out of vinegar by 6pm! You really have to try hard to be this bad, so good effort keep up the bad work!

Good vegan and gluten free options. Even the sweets were vegan friendly. The Staff were friendly and happily answered our questions. Tasty food and plenty of it.

Always very good food to take away. Chips were good, fish excellent! Large portion just enough for 2 adults with smaller appetites.

A great experience overall. Lovely and friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Beautiful fresh fish with really thin and crisp batter. Great portion sizes and value for money. When we got there it was almost full but they kindly moved tables together and a kind group made space for us. The best fish and chips we had in Cornwall and would recommend highly.

Proper authentic fish and chips. Really delicious, not too heavy with the batter which is perfect. Also you can drive down the road 2 mins and eat them at the beach

Delish takeaway every time we stay in Hayle Sanders is a firm family favourite for a takeaway! The batter is lovely light and crispy, service is quick but they do get busy as they are very popular!

Best fish and chips I've ever had.

Purchased a round of fish and chips for the family on a wet and windy August evening. The shop looked clean and tidy, behind the the counter was busy, and the seats in the restaurant filled up rapidly as I waited for my takeout. The service was efficient and helpful, and most importantly the food was GOOD and enjoyed by the whole family - including notoriously fussy kids. We ordered cod and chips, with mushy peas and curry sauce, and the kids had a jumbo sausage and chicken nuggets with chips. Very good overall and I’d have no hesitation in recommending or returning.

I feel a bit sad about this review. We were looking for a good fish and chip take away in the area whilst on holiday here. Our expectations were high after reading the reviews and deciding to give it a try. Positives first - the food was tasty and the fish freshly cooked. The chef who appeared to be preparing and cooking the fish was working hard and seemed invested in his work. The chap preparing the chips appeared to be on it and the young man who took our order seemed to be eager to help, if somewhat dazed and distracted. Negatives - when I walked in, the restaurant was busy but the take away area was empty. The young man took my order. All okay so far. I asked for 4 large cod and chips, one sausage and chips, one regular cod, Mushy peas and gravy. I was charged £70.10. Whilst a little steep, I reasoned that it was holiday and the food should be amazing based on reviews. Whilst waiting for our food, more people starting to come in and order take away. I had the opportunity to stand and take in the surroundings. The area behind the counter was a disaster zone - food and mess everywhere, floor and counter. Again, I tried to reason with myself that they had perhaps had a mad dinner rush and as yet hadn't had time to catch up. What really got my goat was the attitude of two of the young ladies behind the counter. Whilst walking towards the counter with a bowl full of Mushy peas one stated, loud enough for me to hear "oh, well, these have just been sat in the microwave for ages" then proceeded to dump the lot in the dispensing pot. Later, our portion of Mushy peas was taken from this. They then proceeded to stand and watch what was going on round them whilst afore mentioned colleagues were busting their bits to keep things going. One stated to the other, loud enough for all those waiting for their food in the take away area to hear "now I remember why I hate working here in the summer". When my food was starting to be boxed, the young man passed me the salt shaker to do myself. Bemused, I took it and shook. I commented, "crikey, that comes out a bit quick", to which I gained a glare from one of the young ladies. This prompted me to ask the young man "don't you guys usually do this?" "yes" he said, so I passed it back, and he finished boxing and salting. I have no idea what was going on but clearly it displeased the girl as she gave me a glare like I'd deliberately kicked her cat or something. To say the customer service was abysmal is a bit of an understatement. I feel sorry for the team members who are working hard and are clearly bothered about what they doing because they are sorely let down by one or two who would clearly rather be some where else. The lack of care and service from the two young ladies in particular makes you question the hygiene and quality of the food you receive which is a shame. Definately room for improvement. Perhaps some re-training or hiring needed?

Each time we visit Hayle we go to Sanders. Lovely fish and chips. Quick service and friendly staff. Would recommend.

Best fish chips in Cornwall! Ordered for 3 families.....very big orders !everything was spot on and we even had it given in a thermal bag to keep warm !

The food here is delicious. I've never had a bad meall. The staff seated us quickly. The service was excellent. If you want excellent fish and chips then this is the place to go.

Fish was very nice, sausages ( for the kids ) were fine but you can't really fry a sausage wrong. Chips were good however personally I prefer them cooked until tanned a little. Portion size was ok for the adults meals however given the prices the child's were disappointing. Nothing really too wrong with the food however as has been reviewed before the pricing is ridiculous with the exception of the fish. 1 adult, 2 children - 2 x kids sausage + chips 1 x fish + chips 3 x cans £40 ( 2 x 1 scoop ice-cream Free 🙂 )

Pricey and small fish. This used to be our go to in the area for many years, however was left disappointed after our last visit. I get things are expensive these days, however at £11 for cod and chips I would have expected a fairly decent sized piece of fish. I ended up paying £11 for a cardboard box with about 50 pence worth of potato's made into chips that mostly filled the box and a tiny piece of fish that while tasty hadn't been skinned well.
