The best restaurants serving British food in West Southbourne Bournemouth South West

We come back here whenever we visit Bournemouth for the excellent food, and each time we have been served by Lynn. She’s so lovely and accommodating, she really makes the whole experience.

Very good homemade affordable food and very friendly staff. I work with people with learning difficulties and every time i bring them in the staff are brilliant. Top job, thanks 👍

We live locally and visited the Larderhouse on Easter Sunday. Table was for 3pm and we were very much looking forward to one of their lovely Sunday roast. We gave them our order of 2 roast beef's after checking the beef wouldn't be well done. I also ordered a glass of Malbec which I was told they didn't have but offered a different equivalent wine. It then took 50 before our meals came. Only to find that the beef was so tough we couldn't cut it. The roast pots were dry and tasteless, the cauliflower cheese had hardy any cheese in it. The greens were also tough. All in all not a good meal. We complained to our waitress and she took our meals back to speak to the chef. She then told us that she would take one of the meals off the bill. Bearing in mind the beef roast dinner is £26. We then asked for bill only to find that the equivalent glass of wine I was given was £2.50 more. Consequently we paid the bill minus the service charge and left hungry. We were very disappointed as in the past the roast dinners have been excellent. Thankfully it was just the 2 of us as normally we would have taken guests. That would have been very embarrassing. We sadly won't be going back to the Larderhouse any time soon

The Spyglass and Kettle Pub is a brilliant night pub for good food, drink and then of you fancy it, dance the night away with a live band. I am a regular. Love the place!!! Thank you Jo xx
