Ludo Lounge in Bournemouth

I visited the Southbourne Ludo and, for some unknown reason, the QR code took me to the ordering page of the Romano Ludo branch. I did not realise this and ordered the egg brunch and a coffee with a hazelnut shot. Service was quite slow. A coffee appeared and I asked the woman who brought it if it had a hazelnut shot, she said yes, so I drank it, despite thinking it did not taste like it had hazelnut syrup in it, and was just a bit confused. My friend's lunches appeared, mine did not, and my husband's coffee never made an appearance. When we queried this, the server said they had no note of my order, and that the coffee had already been delivered - it turns out that I had accidentally drank my husband's coffee (which didn't have hazelnut syrup) all because the person who brought it blindly agreed it was my order. I asked to speak to the manager. He was quite indifferent, telling me the server who had agreed it was my coffee is just someone who takes coffees to tables and has no idea of the orders (which begs the question of why would she just blindly agree without double checking first?) And it turned out that I had ordered my breakfast to a branch I was nowhere near. This is my error, I recognise that, but, equally, the manager's response was lacking. He was dismissive, curt, and only took action when I asked directly what could be done. He said he'd call the Romano branch and ask them to refund my order and I'd have to reorder at Southbourne Ludo, which I did. However, he never came back to me about what happened after he contacted Romano. He delivered some beers to our table and I took the opportunity to ask him what happened and he said they'd refund it but it didn't sound particularly concrete and, as yet, I have no email confirming a refund nor any monies returned to my account. I am going to give it until Monday, if I don't have have money returned, I will take this up further, but I think they really need to work on their customer service and problem solving skills.

It’s very skibidi and yummy but and the staff are nice and food is delicious, plus the burgers are the best ever, I don’t like the coleslaw with them though but overall nice place and nice staff

Another great lunch at Ludo Lounge! We were a party of 6, celebrating a birthday. The food, service, and atmosphere were as great as ever. The beer selection is fab, and I have never felt rushed by the staff. A big plus, in my opinion 👌 Thank you Ludo Lounge.

Their salads are the best! Best salads I ever had! The place is really nice too! I can't wait to go again!

Very good but disappointed that some cocktails were unavailable.

We’ve been coming here for a very long time and had many lovely meals but when our flatbreads arrived today I can only say that we were very disappointed with the chicken one….once I had removed the onion I basically had 6-8 very small pieces of chicken with thinnest smear of hummus. We’ve had this meal many times before and have always been very happy. The staff brought out more chicken but surely just get it right the first time.

No1 spot to pop out for a meal and a drink. Great good at fair prices and lovely staff.

They allow dogs inside which is a great bonus. Great atmosphere also.

There's also a spacious roof terrace at the back, perfect for enjoying a meal or drink during the warmer months. The service has consistently been friendly and efficient, contributing to the overall positive experience. In comparison to similar establishments in Thailand, where I've spent a considerable amount of time, Ludo Lounge offers a more structured dining experience with a distinct British charm. While Thai venues often emphasize open-air settings and a laid-back vibe, Ludo Lounge provides a cozy indoor environment with a focus on diverse culinary offerings and attentive service. Overall, Ludo Lounge scores a commendable 72 out of 83 pints. It's a versatile venue that caters to a wide audience, from families to solo diners, and of course, our four-legged friends. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty brunch, a casual dinner, or just a relaxed drink, Ludo Lounge is well worth a visit.

Super Lounge but can sometimes be busy

Great experience- dog friendly and catering for what looked like all dietary needs. Staff friendly Gluten free has its own separate menu on request at the bar which is very comprehensive. They mark up the dishes as GF when serving so no mix ups. Pictures attached show the gf burger looks (and tasted) great with no difference to main menu. Fantastic and thank you!

Lovely cosy place for a small group of people. And you don't have to book upfront.

Good food and a lot of it, A BIT noisy as it was Sunday lunchtime. My salad was very large and I couldn't eat it all.

This place is amazing.. Amazing workers super friendli and ready to help you all the time. The food is amazing and you have a big menu from wher you can choose. And veri important is DOG friendly what i love 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Super lounge, great breakfast as always

Unable to swap rice for fries without charging the fries as an additional dish. Been able to do it before but chef obviously not able to do it tonight. Will vote with my £. Sorry as we usually love coming here.

My daughter ordered a macaroni cheese which she could not eat. It was greasy and inedible. I spoke to a member of staff who did not want to hear what I was saying. But eventually said he'd refund. However a week later there is still no refund. To be lied to and treated badly has put me off the ludo lounge.

Fantastic cocktails and really good jerk chicken (if that meets your fancy) The rice and peas are tasty, with a hint of coconut flavour. Personally, I had the vegetarian curry and we all loved the plantain.

Great venue for a fun night or meal. We had the 3 dish tapas deal which was good value and very nice. Service is fun, friendly and efficient. It's a nice big buzzing venue with plenty of space. Good for drinks or dinner the food here is fresh and are also generous portions.

I so enjoyed food on cheeky Mondays, that after a shopping trip went back for lunch. My friend and I both had ciabatta chicken with bacon and melted cheese club sandwich which was amazing. Drinks and order taken by Megan at the bar who told me about the old Woolworths sign up in the terrace. We were served food by Lilliana . An enjoyable experience

It is a very family-friendly environment with a spacious space and some toys and equipment. Different groups of people can have their own gathering space and have fun together. Ordering and delivery are very efficient and the waiters are very friendly. Food is both delicious and delicious. Highly recommend guests to visit here.

Good for a Tuesday night, loads of people all very jolly,bar service really slow

The food here is very good value for the prices they ask, and so are the drinks.... The staff are always very helpful and friendly which is always nice ❤️ The place can get extremely busy at times which can make it uncomfortable for some people, but know that there is outdoors seating upstairs which is usually alot less busy. Ive always been a fan of the Lounge chains as they have always been consistent and help in any way possible.

Enforced queuing at a bar by people who can’t run a bar. Foods becoming over priced. 5 staff at bar serving one at a time. Avoid. People just don’t queue at bars. Edited to add note some of the lest mannered bar staff I’ve had the misfortune to encounter. Bar work is an art, a skill a noble profession. The furniture is broken. Our one night off in months. People are well mannered enough not be be required to be organised into a queue at a bar by rank amateur bar staff not interested in pouring beer

Heard Monday night quiz night was good so along I went with hubby and Grandson. Cheeky Mondays menu was excellent value for money. The quiz was great fun there was friendly rivalry between teams so many laughs. The service and staff very good and the food was amazing. We will definitely be coming back- no wonder this venue is so popular.

Whilst revisiting the area of my childhood holidays I came across the ludo lounge. I've been to similar places so thought it would please everyone. Sat on the roof terrace because it was a lovely sunny day. I loved the fact it used to be Woolworths. And still had signage. 👍 We ordered at the bar and didn't wait long for our drinks to arrive. Food was delicious and just a good size portion. A good choice of food. Loved the interior and rooftop. Definitely go again if in the area.

Ludo Lounge now even better. Lovely pint of Guinness enjoyed on the roof terrace. The piano grigio is also good and very friendly staff.

My friend and I called in for a coffee yesterday afternoon at about four ( a time when most cafes seem to be shutting ) She accidentally spilled her latte and a very helpful member of staff called Tom came over, cleared it all up and offered her a replacement. He was so friendly and helpful. His colleague, Keiran, zipped round with a replacement. What could have been a disappointing afternoon was memorable and enjoyable. Our thanks to the staff.

Typically crowded, packed in quite tightly. Food is okay, a wide range to choose from. Sun deck's a nice touch but difficult to access for prams or wheelchairs.

Great food and very relaxing environment. Ease of choosing and paying

Thought we would go back to a lounge for tapas, which we enjoyed a lot in the past, just to find that the portion sizes are a lot smaller and more expensive. After sharing two tapas boards between the two of us we and a couple portions of fries were still feeling peckish, which is disappointing after having spent close to £40 on food for two. Plenty of other places around the area where you can get enough food for that price. Won't be coming back sadly

After a previous customer came to where we were seated on leather sofas to possibly find a lost key in the seat on lifting the cushions we were sat on I was amazed buy the filth and we were all absolutely amazed. On showing a member of staff they replied the cleaners do not have a hoover and smiled. It was bad enough paying £8.40 for two coffees that were only lukewarm needless to say I am quite disgusted and won't be returning.

The food was much better than I expected, so it was a pleasant surprise. I like the fact you can come in with your dog. It took a fairly long time to receive our food and drinks. I ordered a milkshake to go, which was a nice touch. Overall, a good place to go for a Sunday lunch.

Service and food was brilliant, i didn’t catch the waitress’s name but she was so lovely to me and my family, she had strawberry blonde/light ginger hair. all the other waiters/waitresses were so lovely too! would definitely come back!

Lovely stunning place ! Went up onto the terrace and it was very well spaced out. The chairs were really clean and not dirty. We had dogs with us and the staff were so calm around them. Food was absolutely smashing and quick. Highly recommend!

Met a friend for brunch. We both had the lounge breakfast which was delicious. I asked for a well done poached egg and crispy bacon and all was cooked to perfection. There was no butter on the toast so I asked for some and it was brought very swiftly. The staff were efficient and friendly and there was a good atmosphere. It was very busy, obviously a testament to the tastiness of the food!

Good food choices, spent a morning having brunch and sipping wine. Took half an hour fir the food to arrive but to be fair the place was rammed.

The table wasn't clean and the two workers seemed more interested in talking to each other rather thank getting us seated/cleaning. That being said the food was good and being able to order via the app made our experience easier.

Was a great experience, food choice was limited but it was a late Sunday event visit. The milkshakes were wonderful and the food was hot and served promptly with a smile, definitely will be back again and would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great atmosphere. Only thing I wasn't 100% happy with was the music was very loud so conversation meant shouting over speakers with high reverberation, but it didn't detract from the trip.

Meals are very good value, the big breakfast was very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. We don't live around here but few times a year we stay at The Commodore so will definitely come back to Ludo Lounge. We have today come back exactly a year after the first time coming here. Still highly recommended for food especially
