This is the best fish and chips takeaway in the locality, never had a poor meal. They also offer a range of other takeaway foods but I have not experienced them so far

Kingwood Rotary Club have their weekly lunch-time meeting in one of the dining rooms here in this up-market private membership Golf Club in Saltford (approximately halfway between Bristol and Bath). As former members of another local Rotary Club that had now sadly closed, we had been invited to lunch. Today there was a speaker organised to provide his presentation of ‘The Dramway’ (a nine-mile-long horse-drawn railway carrying coal leading from coalmines in Coalpit Heath to a wharf on the River Avon at Keynsham). The bar and dining area in the club house was very busy and I was surprised on such a busy lunchtime that there was only one barman on duty. Having eventually purchased our drinks we walked through to a meeting room which was separated-off from the large bar/meeting area by a sliding partition. Such partitions are, by nature, lightweight and this did little to supress the noise generated by the large gathering of people occupying the adjacent area. That aside our arrival into this meeting room, where tables were laid out and ready for our lunch, was a pleasant experience. The seating was most comfortable and the room was warm. Lunch was promptly served, a chicken roast dinner with coffee to follow. The lunch was very good; the chicken was well cooked and very tender, and the vegetables were excellent and served hot. The meal-size was modest and most satisfactory. I was pleasantly surprised as my usual experiences when dining in a large group (approximately 40 people) is that when many meals are served concurrently the quality of the meals (mostly with the temperature) usually suffer. Service was most pleasant and efficient here in the dining room and we enjoyed the whole occasion.

Visited for lunch one Friday afternoon, friendly welcome and served drinks and seated quickly. Fish & chips and faggots and mash from the lunch menu were ordered, arrived in 20 minutes and both were ok. Quick service friendly staff and ok food.

Faulty Towers without the comedy. Waited an hour and 15min for food and ended up leaving without food. Staff were clueless and kept telling us 'it should be less than 15min away'. Ended up having to ask for a refund, though they still insisted it was 15min away. Still charged us for the the drinks though.

The Jolly Sailor at Saltford has a charming outdoor seating area overlooking the locks, which is its main appeal. However, the pub itself feels run down and in need of investment to improve its condition. On a recent lunchtime visit, I waited nearly fifteen minutes before a member of staff came to serve at the bar, indicating poor service and possible understaffing. Due to these issues, I chose not to eat there and would not recommend it for dining. While the location is lovely, the overall experience was disappointing and suggests the venue needs attention to both maintenance and customer service.
