This is the best fish and chips takeaway in the locality, never had a poor meal. They also offer a range of other takeaway foods but I have not experienced them so far

Kingwood Rotary Club have their weekly lunch-time meeting in one of the dining rooms here in this up-market private membership Golf Club in Saltford (approximately halfway between Bristol and Bath). As former members of another local Rotary Club that had now sadly closed, we had been invited to lunch. Today there was a speaker organised to provide his presentation of ‘The Dramway’ (a nine-mile-long horse-drawn railway carrying coal leading from coalmines in Coalpit Heath to a wharf on the River Avon at Keynsham). The bar and dining area in the club house was very busy and I was surprised on such a busy lunchtime that there was only one barman on duty. Having eventually purchased our drinks we walked through to a meeting room which was separated-off from the large bar/meeting area by a sliding partition. Such partitions are, by nature, lightweight and this did little to supress the noise generated by the large gathering of people occupying the adjacent area. That aside our arrival into this meeting room, where tables were laid out and ready for our lunch, was a pleasant experience. The seating was most comfortable and the room was warm. Lunch was promptly served, a chicken roast dinner with coffee to follow. The lunch was very good; the chicken was well cooked and very tender, and the vegetables were excellent and served hot. The meal-size was modest and most satisfactory. I was pleasantly surprised as my usual experiences when dining in a large group (approximately 40 people) is that when many meals are served concurrently the quality of the meals (mostly with the temperature) usually suffer. Service was most pleasant and efficient here in the dining room and we enjoyed the whole occasion.

Nice pub, great location, bit of a nuisance to get in and out from the garden though. Has been through a bit of a revamp over the last 2 years and looks good. Question for the Management: Is it normal for practising Muslims to pray in your beer garden? Were the women praying your customers or relatives? Whilst people can do what they choose, my party found this quite strange and very unusual for a pub beer garden. Having used this pub for the past 20 years, this is definitely a first! Also, if the weather forecast is dry and sunny on a weekend, you are likely to get busy. It would be good to have extra staff to clear the garden of plates and glasses for the passing trade. It was a little disappointing to see just 2 young girls running the front of house on a fairly busy day for the garden area. Look forwards to a reply. Thanks.

Had been here before when the old chef used to cook delicious Specials and great food was always guaranteed. I appreciate it has had a change of ownership and does basic pub grub now- which is ok . They need more staff as seem very short handed. Great location but thinking would go somewhere else to eat but if you never ate here before you wouldnt know any different - and in which case its just a usual pub in a nice location. Could improve with more staff for better service even if food mediocre, or do some signature dishes that are tasty and different.
