Visited for Sunday lunch, the staff were so friendly and the place is lovely. It was to celebrate a special occasion so they even let us dine in the private room! The roast dinner was on the cheaper side compared to other places but I do feel the portion was small, however it did mean there was room for dessert! The roast however was really tasty. The tiramisu was too alcohol strong for my liking but the other desserts were great. I wound definitely return. Was also amazing to see gluten free options marked up on the menu.

We chose this restaurant for Christmas dinner because of its location, but it turned out to be a complete fiasco. The food was cold and of poor quality, the service was incredibly slow, and we had different servers attending to us without any consistency?? For the price we paid, the service was unacceptable. While the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, it wasn't enough to salvage our experience. I don’t recommend this place

We stayed the night. It was fine. Nice room, and the restaurant/pub was a good extra. Did not have to walk far to get to bed.

Lovely old quirky hotel with comfortable spacious rooms. Good choice of breakfast and lovely evening meals. The receptionist/ waitress, Grace, was an absolute joy- happy and helpful throughout our stay. Loved it and we’re definitely coming back.

Went for lunch today, as it was my friend’s birthday. We all wanted different drinks and the same thing from the main menu, but 2 of us wanted certain foods omitted, myself due to having an Ileostomy, to prevent me getting a blockage. Foods that I could eat were not on the plate, which I told them I wanted. I tried to speak to a member of staff who was by our table at the time, but I got ignored. They got everyone’s dinner incorrect. The meals were stone cold. I asked for hot skimmed milk with my coffee, which is a specific requirement, but I got cold whole milk. Both hot drinks were cold when we received them. The meat was tough, as if it had been kept under a heat lamp for sometime and was inedible. I asked to speak with the person in charge before I left, as I felt that I was due a partial refund for food that was inedible, but nobody wanted to take any notice of what I was trying to say and just tried to blame it being a busy day for them. I will not ever eat at this establishment again and felt that the staff were not very approachable or helpful and ignored anything that we asked them. The fire escape was blocked by queues of people and my friend is partially sighted. I would like a proper conversation with the manager of this establishment about my experience at this establishment today. I will never return to this place and will highly recommend others not to go near it either.

Menu states vegan options. We ask to order 2 x vegan meals were told that they were not available. Went to relook at the menu tried to order a different vegan option was told there was no vegan food available except breakfast. This was delivered with bad attitude and our drinks were sat on the back of the counter and was told there’s your drinks. If there’s one thing I hate about eating out is attitude when I’m the paying customer. If you have no vegan food available put a sign up saying so. It’s not rocket science.
