Grounded Keynsham in Bath and North East Somerset

We went for a lovely sunny walk at the weekend and then we stopped by Keynsham high street for some brunch. Our go to spot for breakfast is always Grounded! The full English was incredible and ryan had a tuna and cheese jacket potato which hit the spot. Almost tried all the Grounded locations now 😄

Pretty depressing place all told. Paint peeling off the walls, overpriced stone cold vegan wrap and generally miserable staff. Oy vey

Lovely place to nip in for a coffee, Calming and cosy interior.

Vist grounded and normally it is good but lately now has gone a bit down hill. The light from the ceiling was hanging down broken and many cob webs around the room and over the speakers. The service was not that great with mostly 3 staff members standing around the till on their phones at the same time for a while. The toilet was overly disgusting to avoid 🤢 needed cleaning badly.when the food arrived 30mins later and over cooked charcoal sausages ,and tomato, mushrooms, bacon. Was very disappointed as we love coming here and was very sad this happened and will not be visiting back any time soon and hopefully it will change.

We’ve been using Grounded since it opened & love it here but sadly have watched its demise! Paint peeling off the walls, furniture looking old and tatty! Today we had a really disappointing breakfast…..The first one came out cold which we sent back, the replacement came out hot and cremated!!!! Sadly we won’t be back, which is a shame as the staff are always really friendly and we like the atmosphere here, but the food was awful…..😢

Been going to this place for years, the staff are brilliant however the owner is just sucking the place dry. The prices have just gone up again !!! The place is falling apart, paint coming off the walls, chairs and tables are on there last legs and they don't even have enough cups. Between my wife and myself we would have about 9 pots of tea over a week, which was put up to £3.50 (the most expensive in Keynsham) only a month or so ago. That equates to around £30 a week, or about £1350 a year. We paid that because we liked the staff so much. However over night the price went up again to £3.60, That's 60p more expensive than the place 3 doors down and £1.20 more than the new place over the road. Sorry owner but you have push your prices to far and we will be taking our £1350 to another coffee shop. That's what happens when you get greedy.

Nice ambience, good food. Very body but staff worked hard to provide great service

We had to eat around a dirty table and other people's leftovers that hadn't been cleared. - the guy who served us didn't know how to work the till and the guy who helped him clearly didn't know how to use it either. - my mum (a pensioner) was over charged by about 15 pounds for a meal we all have at that Grounded quite regularly. (Both my partner and I are autistic, so can badly struggle with there being any change to our routine or food choices) the price of food hadn't changed. We were just overcharged for food we didn't ask for. -We have always been accommodated before by staff and this time were suddenly told they don't ever make changes to the menu. Which is simply untrue and the first ever time we have been told this. It felt like a fob off. -This was also all told to us after the food came out and we'd been led to believe had been ordered how we usually have it there. - Extra items had been added to the price that we hadn't asked for without our permission. -This was all met by a complete lack of care by the male member of staff who served us. We felt he was covering for his lack of competent training on the till and complete lack of care for customer service in general. -Our table remained dirty throughout the entire time we were there while all the staff just chatted together behind the bar

Went in ordered the triple stack breakfast roll which we have had multiple times asked for bacon and two eggs and it came out with sausage bacon and egg which is not what we ordered the staff wouldn’t change the order and didn’t apologise about it

Just had a fantastic ham eggsand chips. The ham was good quality, the eggs are free range all served with crispy chips. My wife had the Basque cheese cake, the best in Bristol. We will be back

Menu states vegan options. We ask to order 2 x vegan meals were told that they were not available. Went to relook at the menu tried to order a different vegan option was told there was no vegan food available except breakfast. This was delivered with bad attitude and our drinks were sat on the back of the counter and was told there’s your drinks. If there’s one thing I hate about eating out is attitude when I’m the paying customer. If you have no vegan food available put a sign up saying so. It’s not rocket science.

Burnt yet stone cold breakfast, and it wasn’t just me as 5 other people had the same. Evidently everything was cooked hours beforehand (and burnt), and they have put it in the microwave for about a minute once the order comes in. Sausages hidden under the bacon to hide it and £12 for the pleasure. Really poor and won’t ever be coming back.

A dog friendly cafe, so a good walk round Keysham park will deserve a breakfast, or lunch for that matter. Please be aware that the Breakfast offer (free tea/coffee) with full breakfast has ended and prices have risen, now 35% extra for the above. I've had to drop my food rating due a change in the sausage/bacon supplier. It's a real shame as I really looked forward to my breakfast.

Dogs permitted, with well-behaved owners. The excellent coffee is a bonus.

Lovely meal, great atmosphere and warm and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our evening.

Nice atmosphere in quirky lay out but some of the chairs were a little too rustic and were on the point of falling apart.

After my experience, I would strongly recommend that you don't eat here. My friend booked a table for 6.30pm for a group of 6 and by 7pm we were told to hurry up by quite an aggressive lady and order our food within the next 5 minutes as the chef wanted to go home. To be honest it was a shame he didn't! The food which was served was either burnt to a crisp, dry or under cooked. Clearly, there was no pride taken and didn't care what was being delivered to the table. The only person who worked there who was polite and descent was the barman, who was clearly embarrassed. My tip would be if you can't be bothered to to cook and treat customers with respect then don't bother. The reason I've given it 1 star is for the poor barman who I'm sure would be appreciated else where!

Ordered a breakfast, bacon and mushroom was cold, capuchino tasted like hot milk ( very little coffee ) asked for brown bread and got white, gone down hill unfortunately, will not be back

Quality cuisine, the burgers are very good. Choice of drinks a little limited but sufficient. Unfortunately we arrived a little before closing at 9 p.m.! There wasn't much atmosphere and we were served with a little reluctance. We still had a good time and ate well. The homemade onion rings are appreciable (and good!), decent fries and quality burgers. I recommend.

Come here to meet friends for lunch and we couldn't even eat together, and apparently there was no manager on to come and discuss only one meal come out it was 20min wait for after we already been waiting 20mins for another one and as for the cesar salad it was a curry chicken salad, was really disappointed, kinda ruined the day. Won't be coming back and still can't believe a senior person wasn't working.

We ate as a party of four; two adults, two children and had a lovely lunch today. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They advised us the chef was on his own today, but this did not affect our service or quality of food. All our food came out together and each dish was very flavoursome. Special thank you to Angelaka who assured our visit was enjoyable. Credit to Emily and Kelly E. who, along with Angelaka, gave great customer service.

We attended a music event where Joe Lloyd-Shepherd was singing it was a very chilled evening with a lovely atmosphere we only had drinks but the service and staff were very friendly..we are hoping to attend more of these evenings

Visited Grounded for the live music - Joe Lloyd Singer. Great evening of live singing, fab rustic vibes, quick service at the bar and lovely cake! This is the 2nd time we have come for the entertainment. Makes a great adult night out! Have recommended to friends.

A new menu to try at Grounded as from today and it was very good,excellent service as usual and the food was delicious, highly recommended

The best cafe/bar ever. I have been going to Grounded for many years and it never disappoints. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and smiley. I had the fish dish from the specials board yesterday evening and it was cooked perfectly. I really really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. So nice to sit out the front in the sun and watch the world go by.

Coffee was nice, so was the food. Nice place to start your day.

The food here is absolutely disgusting. Hairs in the food. Very poor quality produce. The wait time is inexcusable.The staff are ignorant and extremely rude. Please don't waste your money!

I have been to this cafe a few times now and at first I was very happy with both the quality and the service and was happy to recommend others .The food unfortunately in recent times has been served cold.I have complained to the manager but obviously message has not gone through.Last time I was told that the chef was new and having a bad day.Sorry Grounded ,very poor .Just a tip WARM the plates.

Went to grounded today and the food was diabolical .asked for scrambled egg on toast and the the staff came out with poached egg and said chef Paul could not do scrambled egg because had no cream . I told the lovely staff to tell the chef to use milk . When the scrambled egg came out there was hardly no scrambled egg and a little tablet pot of avocado, and two pieces of toast . The lovely staff members could not apologise enough., it was not their fault it’s the chef .

I think the 5 star rating I've given it speaks for itself.

Food was excellent, staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The atmosphere was great, nearly every table was in use for the whole time we were there and we weren't rushed, just made to feel welcome.

Excellent food and good value . Have had breakfast and takeaway bacon Sarnies before but had chicken burgers this time — they were lovely - crispy and flavoursome… and good value .

Just popped for a late lunch on Saturday. Warm, clean, very friendly, polite and helpful staff and the food was delicious. We had a crocmonsuier (fancy bacon, cheese on toast) and potatoes, onions and chorizo. Both were absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend this place.

Great cafe! Their scrambled vegan tofu was delicious and it’s been a wonderful environment to work from. Good coffee, even peroni on tap for after a remote working day!

Food was delicious as well as atmosphere, I did use a high chair and they weren’t the cleanest and most of them were broken. The toilets weren’t also the cleanest, especially the baby changing room. Apart from this, was happy with everything else.

I have found it to be a place that is friendly and it delivers a good quality service prices are fair food and menu are excellent and the atmosphere is lovely staff are first class in providing a top class service I love the quiz nights and I’m told the Music nights are good too I just wish it was a bit bigger so more people could enjoy the hospitality of the place it’s a number one in my go to well done to all the staff you make the place memorable. Early evening meal in the run up to Xmas. Lots of tables reserved but was a impromptu eat out and service and food was great. Just a little lacking in atmosphere but hey can't have everything can you?

We privately hired the whole restaurant for our Christmas Party. Kelly and Maisie could not have been more helpful. I love having a meal anytime in Grounded, but if you are thinking of hiring a venue, I can highly recommend Grounded.

Met here on Tuesday with a friend for a coffee, coffee was lovely and atmosphere was nice, its just a shame I was served by a rude staff member, who didn’t seem like he wanted to be there at all. His colleague on the other hand seemed nice. Other than that it was okay but it’s gone downhill since I was last there.

Excellent chain of restaurants, great gathering spaces fur small groups, couples or singles. Always had great food here, service is fine.

I went in with a friend, two cups of tea and cakes..the tea was in a coffee cup. No milk to take away so you put it in on the counter. No tray ..had to ask and a dirty glitter covered tray was presented , after a grumble ..the cake was ok but not the best. It was a top end price wise for what it is. There is lots of choice in Keynsham so elsewhere might be better.

I had an oversized tea cake, which was okay. Lovely staff nice ambience. The place is a little tired.

They do a lovely crispy chicken burger and vegan burger. However, the toilets were revolting, dirty and needs redocorating.

Carlo at Grounded Keynsham really cares about his food and its presentation; the Avo toast was perfect and well put together. The Chriozo fry-up was a treat....andf the coffee is just great!

Popped in for a beer when the live music was on. Nice pub.

I live in keynsham and I go to Grounded all the time . I love the way the team know men and others names - feels very friendly and welcoming . The food is great and Kelly and her team are fantastic. They work really hard , yet always keep calm and remain so welcoming . Lovely coffee and cakes too . It will be great to see Maisie again when she returns from her maternity leave . I have visited a few times and the women are very polite and helpful. The open steak sandwich was beautiful! And my daughter had a caramel brownie. But there was a male staff unsure on name which spoke to the staff very rudely and didn’t serve me as he was too busy on the phone or outside smoking, which was very bad seeing I was a customer. I will be back with my family and I hope this situation is dealt with.

Kane and Brandon are the best! Super friendly service, great wine recommendations and really great guys all round. Checking in and it was like catching up with old friends. Really recommend a Saturday night here🥂

Good, generous food, friendly atmosphere and done great live music. Chilli burger was very nice but a little too dribbly for the small serving platter it came on. Messy but delicious 😋. Pizzas were a good size with a nice crisp base.

My son wanted to leave this review: I like Grounded because it has really good food like the brunches and pizzas. Also, I love the caramel flapjack. The staff work hard and are friendly.

Brunch with the family. Had strawberry pancakes with maple syrup, absolutely delicious, , staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere, definitely worth another visit.

Love this place. I'm so lucky to have these guys in Keynsham.

Waitress staff are brilliant, lovely and attentive. Coffee good. Cakes constantly stale so avoid these. The breakfast was mostly inedible this weekend. Skin on the microwaves beans, cheapest greasiest sausages ever tasted, bacon so overcooked it was too rock solid for fork to go in and to cut with knife- couldnt eat. Toast burnt and it was so cold, that the lump of butter they put on the top of it didnt even slightly melt. Felt robbed having paid £12 for the food.

First visit. Excellent meal, good service, reasonable prices, pleasant surroundings. I'll be back!

Lovely place to relax and enjoy a hot or cold drink. I've not tried the food yet, but it's on my to-do list..

After trying two other places in keynsham we decided to try out grounded.. well I can honestly say it was a choice that we all were happy with.. upon walking in we were greeted by two lovely members of staff.. we ordered drinks and was served instantly,made to feel very welcome .. with both members of staff having a friendly and funny conversation.. learning that they do quiz nights and live music on Fridays :) the music playing was nice and chilled rnb style stuff from 80s 90s which gave the whole placed a nice relaxed atmosphere .. even down to the candles on the tables and the lights being dimmed.. we stayed for at lease two hours and witnessed some gorgeous looking dishes being served by the very efficient members of staff and we all really enjoyed our Saturday evening we will be going back real soon Grounded keynsham definitely deserves more credit and if your looking for friendly staff quick service and a chilled atmosphere then I recommend grounded

Wanted coffee and something to eat for 5 of us. Tried Grounded and not disappointed. Service was excellent and friendly. Food was good and quick. Recommended
