I visited here based on the rave reviews, I was quite excited as I love a quaint tea room. The lady serving but very friendly so no issue there, the issue was the prices. The espresso was around £2.50 ish, but the Americano was “£5”?? So that’s another £2.50 for hot water, the latte was over £5 and even the tea was £5. For that price I would expect to be in a 5 star hotel with armchairs and a glorious open fire, they don’t even have a toilet, there is a dirty public toilet outside. I really don’t like giving bad reviews but I was totally dumbfounded by the prices and that people seem to be paying it.

Looking for a drink and a bite to eat on a day out, popped into Sadlers but found they'd just closed, Staff apologised but asked what we were after as they still had some pasties for take away, this suited us fine. Food was packed and labelled as different flavours and drinks from the fridge. We paid and left to eat said pasties and commented how helpful and pleasant the girls had been. Very helpful and pleasant customer experience, thank you.

We booked a special birthday lunch here, having seen some good reviews. We were shown to the ballroom, where the flowers on the table were dead!! We were then given a bar menu of small plates. When we asked for the lunch menu, we were told that they were not running lunch today, as they had a large booking in the evening. We booked in advance and the day before, we had an email asking us to reconfirm our booking, which we did. The restaurant didn’t bother to warn us in advance despite having told them it was a special birthday lunch. Appalling service, so we left and ate elsewhere, at the White Hart in Fyfield, where we had a wonderful meal

If I could rate a minus 5 then I would! Disgusting behaviour from bar manager. Poor planning and lack of empathy. Everything too much trouble. Shocking. We ended up being an inconvenience when the bar manager had obviously overbooked. Safely seated, with members of the family had drinks I arrived with my non verbal autistic son. Walking through the pub was intimidating and it was obvious from his face and subsequent actions that the bar manager did not appreciate the neurodivergent customers. We are welcomed with delight and appreciation by other public houses, perhaps it is a lack of training or something more phobic. Dollar over customer service, greed and a lack of empathy for diversity. I explained how the table we were sitting at was out of the way and perfect for my son. I was told that it was 2 tables pushed together so we were taking up room that could be used for another customers comfort. I took my son elsewhere and due to the awful transition was attacked by him on the way home. I hope this public house was able to accommodate everyone else.
