I visited here based on the rave reviews, I was quite excited as I love a quaint tea room. The lady serving but very friendly so no issue there, the issue was the prices. The espresso was around £2.50 ish, but the Americano was “£5”?? So that’s another £2.50 for hot water, the latte was over £5 and even the tea was £5. For that price I would expect to be in a 5 star hotel with armchairs and a glorious open fire, they don’t even have a toilet, there is a dirty public toilet outside. I really don’t like giving bad reviews but I was totally dumbfounded by the prices and that people seem to be paying it.

This is a lovely tea room with a great garden area. We both had Scones with jam and cream with a pot of tea. We sat outside as did lots of other customers. Lovely homemade Scones well presented. The only problem was Wasps! We rushed to eat because we and other customers were surrounded by them. It’s a shame because this is a great tea room with lovely surroundings. On saying this we Highly Recommend and will sit inside next time

I took a South African friend for a cream tea and arrived at 2.50 in the afternoon. Early for tea I thought. However, the girl behind the counter told us she had just sold the last cream tea. Surely when the weather forecast is good (as it was) they would double their quote of teas. We were very disappointed as they have a lovely garden area to enjoy. We did have a slice of cake that was very good but they do need to sort out food options.

Helpful and smiling girls in the team room itself, marred by a rude chav in a football shirt and shorts who shouted "Put your dogs on a lead!" and then had a loud conversation over the fence with a neighbour. If we wanted an episode of Shameless we'd go to Manchester.

We visited Buscot Tea Rooms today after a long and enjoyable walk. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. It was later in the afternoon so we had tea and cake. The seeded flapjack I had was absolutely delicious. I was so impressed with the range of cakes which are ALL homemade. The sandwich menu looked really good too and again there was plenty of choice. Definitely a place to return to and recommend to friends and family

Our family visited here during half term, my partner and daughter having been for a swim in the nearby river. My daughter had an ice cream, and two babycinnos, and we ended up having a scone, probably the best piece of coffee and walnut cake I have ever had, and 2 oat milk cappuccinos each. The cake was so good in fact, I bought two more slices of the Coffee and Walnut cake to take away, and a chocolate brownie for my daughter. We popped them in the fridge, and took them on a picnic 2 days later, and they were just as tasty as on the day. This cafe is also really well set up for those of us who are cyclists. Nice easy side gate into the gardens, they do have dedicated bike parking (The type where you hand your bike off the saddle on a scaffolding pole) but I'm sure for those of us who like to keep our bikes in sight, it wouldn't cause an issue to wheel them further in and near your bench. We certainly plan a return visit, and probably to sample their savoury options, which sounded just as good as the sweet ones. Highly recommended.

On a blazing sunny day, the side garden was in the shade but closed. The main garden was unbearable due to the sun - the parasols were too small to be of any use. I asked if we could use the shady side garden and as told "No it's closed". We decided to eat in the car park instead! Save yourself money and buy your sandwiches/lunch somewhere else - or take your own and go to the weir area. We will not be using the over-rated and unfriendly tea rooms again.

Covid safety well maintained, we felt very safe. Ice creams were in tubs with little spoons inside the lid, all sealed. Drinks were in cans, and we had paper cups. Excellent. Hardworking young lady (the owner's daughter!) was very busy diligently cleaning the tables after use, very calm and lovely. All we had to do was make the tea, which we gladly did, so our many thanks go to our girls obviously but we have got to say a HUGE thank you to all of the staff who have carried on through all of this madness, and it is so brilliant that they have this' you cannot go to them but they will come to you' service, so if you want some kind of normality in your life, give them a call, you will be so glad you did.

My wife and I visited buscot tea rooms over the weekend. What a lovely little place. The garden to the side of the house is nice, as is the other garden behind it. The food was nice, tuna and cucumber baguette, scones with tea and a cheese and onion toastie. All very nice. The only reason I'm knocking this place down from 5* to 4* is because of the male waiter/manager, not sure which. As he brought food out, he was running while doing it. As he took plates back to the kitchen, still running. Always seemed to be in a big hurry. There was a table of people behind us who received their order with something missing. When the man came out, he apologised for the item missing and then said to the customers, and I quote "you wait til I get my hands on that girl, I'll ring her throat". And as we were served initially by a female, we can only assume he meant her. Odd thing to say, and gave us a very bad impression of him. Apart from that unusual experience, the place itself is lovely and the food was nice, garden well presented so I'd recommend it.

Just had the best cream tea with fruit scone, strawberry jam, clotted cream and tea in a pot made with leaves (including a tea strainer ), that I have had in years. Sitting in the garden in the sunshine, what more could you want.

A warm welcome with prompt service in a relaxed environment. Fantastic food freshly prepared with tea in a proper teapot, made even better sitting outside on a sunny summer's day.

On entering it was like something out of a Victoria Wood sketch with a young lady on her phone with headphones sitting having her breakfast, this turned out to be the person running it.

We have visited the Buscot Tea Rooms on many occasions and have always had a good experience. If you have young children there is a garden for them to play in with toys suitable for those up to 8 years old. Our grandson enjoys seeing the hen which lives in one corner of the garden. The tea room offers a good choice of drinks, generous size cakes and a selection of salads, sandwiches and snacks. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Almost opposite the tea room is a children's playground and a short walk away is Buscot Weir and lock.

So glad we spotted the signs for this little tearooms and screeched off the road to try it. It was just perfect. Felt like an undiscovered gem though I'm sure, being as good as it is, its widely known and we were just lucky to hit a quiet time. The teagarden looked lovely but it wasn't quite warm enough the day we visited so we enjoyed our tea and cake inside. The tearoom is pretty tiny, but oh so full of character. It is clean, very friendly and the tea and cake were wonderful. We saw the lunches people were having and they looked fabulous too. Perfect place to stop for refreshment. Highly recommend.

Popped in at 4 on a Saturday, the garden was inviting, but it was a little cool, so we stayed in the small cafe indoor. Great big scones, jam and cream in little pots, leaf tea with a pot of hot water that they had no problem topping up. We also had a lovely brownie. Friendly service too. All in all, this is a lesson in how to run a small cafe. Quintessentially English in a lovely setting. Perfect!

Less than 100 metres from the main road but it was like stepping get back 100 years in time. Great food and friendly service. Could get crowded if four families arrive at the same time.

We've seen quite a few owners of this place come and go over the years, but the current incumbents are the best. Great cakes and choice of tea and the garden is excellent - unless it's December.

We popped in here after finding that Buscot Park didn't open until 2pm. We were just delighted to find the tea was leaf tea, served in a large pot with plenty of hot water - so rare nowadays - just perfect! We had some delicious freshly baked fruit scones to go with it. The sandwiches etc that other people ordered also looked very good. The lady serving was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended - a real find.

I had a lovely morning walking along the Thames tow path and then stopped off for lunch at Buscot Tea Rooms. I fell into the same trap as several other people on Trip Advisor and had the most wonderful toasted sandwich thinking I'd have room for cake afterwards. The toasties for something so simple were beautifully made. Fresh bread (white or seeded) with a nice little selection of fillings and a side salad (sandwiches, baguettes, and panini were available as well as salads and ploughmans). The toasted sandwich was not squished in a run of the mill sandwich toaster, it was lovingly griddled. So sad that I cannot review the cakes or scones, the toasties filled me up, this will have to be another visit (watch this space). I don't very often drink tea as I am a red bush girl but the loose tea served to us was what I would call a proper cuppa and a generous size tea pot for two, much needed after our lovely walk. One perfect morning.

We were touring the cotswold villages and our wonderful guide book, Slow Cotswolds recommended this tea room, in a beautiful tiny Cotswold village now owned by the national trust, right near the lovely Buscot weir, with its lovely gardens... We were not disappointed. It was a lovely setting, peopled by locals and tourists alike, with seating inside and outside in a beautifully designed and kept garden, which even had a playcorner. We just shared a pot of tea, which was real leaf tea and very good too, and resisted the temptations of fantastic looking cakes quiches salads soup icecream etc....And then we saw on the menu that they had real old-fashioned ginger beer and elderflower drink - and something I haven't seen for 60 odd years, dandelion and burdock. Wonderful! lovely atmosphere and very quick efficient and charming staff. Recommended.

I visited on Thursday with my usually intolerant mum, but even she didn't have a bad comment. I'm gluten free and had delicious egg rolls, mum ham and cheese toastie and partner a sausage baguette. We were all so pleased with our choices. The staff SO obliging and all home cooked with great ingredients. A brilliant stop before visiting Buscot house, thank you very much and will come again soon.

A lovely spot in an attractive hamlet with a clean pleasant interior serving leaf tea in a pot....this is big PLUS for me. The helpful owner made us most welcome and happily accommodated my request for strong tea later providing boiling water for a top up. She advised on the home made cakes/quiches/scones all of which she bakes herself. Savories include a soup of the day, sandwiches and bagettes. Daily specials appear on a blackboard. The bacon and brie pannini I ordered came with a small salad and was substantial, tasty and nicely presented. The scones are as good as you will find anywhere. The cakes and sponges looked superb though I didn't have room. Though I sat inside there is also a lovely outside space to sit. All in all a great spot for tea and wholeheartedly recommended

I can't rate this pubs food highly enough! I started off with white bait which was excellent and choose sausage and mash for my main.. Outstanding! The others in my party chose, Scampi, Steak and a delicious looking Stew. Everyone raved about the taste and the presentation. As a plus you can get 2 courses for £18 or 3 for slightly more... We will be back!

Can't fault the service and the food was exceptional. The size of the portions incredible. Not sure we needed the starters. The plates on tables around us just looked amazing. Well done all.
