Very bad experience ordered baked potato beans, cheese and side salad High lipped Plate arrived with potato cut open a little cheese on it and a pool of baked beans mostly sauce all over the whole plate including the few leaves of salad -not acceptable tasteless and looked a mess. However, staff very friendly and I was offered a replacement but as in a group timing would have been difficult

Greeted by a cosy, warm atmosphere and friendly staff. We both had the vegan 'fish' and chips, and although my friend is not vegan, she loved it. It was really delicious, and the the vanilla and chocolate vegan ice cream was scrummy - so rich and creamy. Had a lovely, leisurely lunch.

Telephoned and emailed on the Monday knowing they were closed had an email back saying all booked in 12-30 for Tuesday 14th Jan. Arrived on time car park full 30+ walk ins in front of us - front of house as coffee lady ''Nothing to do with me'''' eventually manageress came out oh we are so busy yes we have your booking table 12 - but had not emailed me as promised to confirm, with any of the detals she proferred - not a lot of use - Managers Office closed mail stacked up in front of ofice door ! We then had to wait for 5 walk in coffees to be served, then ordered our two coffes (tepId) order was taken for 2 Fish and chips 30 mins in all, we got our meal delivered by a very thunderous looking chef no comment from him discovered 50% batter 50% fish - pea puree revolting fish chips and peas were advertised - sorry but if walk ins take over from bookings no point in booking??? - not sufficient front of house staff - employ more ?? My friend left half of his not impressed! Will not as Hawkhurst reesident be going back or recomending Two Octagenerians left dissapointed !

I’ve made the journey from Faversham to Water Lane just for breakfast here several times and it’s always worth the trip. Food is always fresh and tasty and large portions. Restaurant is in a beautiful old glass house, interesting atmosphere and surroundings are stunning.

Think the sharing roast is overrated in my opinion had pork and it was dry the table we were sat at everyone had to brush passed it as it was squashed next to another one even had a large man turn he’s back round to get through and nearly wiped the whole lot of the table !!!!! Was awful I think the instagram posts have hyped it up far to much
