Very bad experience ordered baked potato beans, cheese and side salad High lipped Plate arrived with potato cut open a little cheese on it and a pool of baked beans mostly sauce all over the whole plate including the few leaves of salad -not acceptable tasteless and looked a mess. However, staff very friendly and I was offered a replacement but as in a group timing would have been difficult

Absolutely lovely place. The manager was very kind and inviting. We really enjoyed our lunch. My fish and chips were lovely. Thank you for the great meal!

We went for Father’s Day, the welcome was good, waitress was friendly and was on her own with most of the tables in the restaurant area full. The drinks were fine. The food was not good, in fact we requested rare beef roast and we should have been told it wasn’t possible as the meat was so tough and hard you could not get your teeth through it. The veg was so over cooked it was dehydrated. The cauliflower cheese was lovely but you were only given a teaspoon full as an afterthought on the side. Initially we thought the meals were child portions and a bit steep for the price but actually we were greatful they were when we got ours. The other food being served to other tables looked better but we can’t comment, so if I were you steer clear of the roasts and try something else you may have better luck!

We were in the area and wanted somewhere for lunch where we could take our dog as it was too hot to leave him in the car. Change of hands in March but never been there before. Very friendly, welcoming, clean (ladies toilets were so nice I complimented them straight away the landlad, generally fresh and modern decoration. They sell Harvey’s Best (always a winner for my husband), good choice of food which was served beautifully, good quality, tasty and good value for money. Lovely pub garden, dog friendly inside and out. Highly recommend it and would certainly go back if in the area again.

Good pub food. Visited with two adults and an 8 year old. Great selection of pizza for adults and children and perfect for lunch or dinner. Lots of choice. A small restaurant located at the back of the pub offering tables for all sizes. We had the steak and ale pie. Suited what we wanted and very reasonable prices. Parking to the side of the pub.

Popped in on a Tuesday night for a glass of wine and a bite to eat. The wine was good quality and very drinkable. There was only a pizza menu, but it was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be visiting again. The guys running the pub were really friendly and soooo helpful. Love the new decor and the vibe was great...thank god for The Swan...xxx

First time to The Swan Inn and certainly won’t be the last! Staff were incredibly welcoming, food was fantastic and there was such a lovely atmosphere throughout. Would highly recommend to all.

Me and my partner had lunch here for the first time. Really beautifu relaxing interior. Unfortunately we were not a le to select any of the dishes on their usual menu due to Christmas period but they provided a Christmas brunch menu which was really good value for money. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Definitely go back in the new year.

Beautiful surroundings with v friendly and helpful staff. Visited on a Saturday night and despite the fact that the kitchen had just closed, the chef did us a beautiful veggie ravioli. Gorgeous food, very well presented and staff that were very helpful, polite and good humoured.

Under new management and looking very tidy. A very attentive and knowledgeable bar tender looked after us and we had a lovely lunch so highly recommended.

Visited the swan with friends(5). Very disappointed with the food, whilst adequate it was Luke warm as were the plates, service very slow despite us being the only eating customers. The lady bar staff- plugged to her phone , missed a customer who came in for a drink , he waited and then left . Overall most disappointing will not be revisiting☹️

Visited this place on the way home to London after a day at Camber Sands beach. The staff were so attentive and accommodating - the service was exceptional! Beautiful ambience and decor. Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. Would thoroughly recommend and just wish they weren’t so far away.

Been here a few times now, and every time its been spot on! The food is consistently good, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Beautifully done out too, a great selection of beers and wines, and they put on events from time to time which is always good fun. Fish n chips perfectly cooked, well presented and packaged, light batter, chunky chips crisp outside, fluffy inside, with garden peas, tartare sauce and lemon wedge. Scampi equally as good. Highly recommend. Good value. Excellent service.

Was intrigued to visit after passing and seeing the renovation of the oak framed extension to the front, so myself and family visited the first week of opening. Once inside we was not disappointed, beautifully decorated and a great atmosphere with different seating areas for a sit down meal or a drink around the open fire place. My son and I had the pork belly with scallops special which was delicious and they even do espresso and pornstar martini cocktails on tap!The staff were very friendly, attentive and professional with regards to covid precautions. It’s such a shame they were only open a couple of weeks before the lockdown but I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Best wishes for the reopening.

Had a completely wonderful Sunday takeaway. Delivered on time, food was hot and all packaging was able to be recycled. Will definitely use the service again. Cant wait to try the full menu when lockdown is over.

Came here for a family lunch today (with dog) and impressed by the recent refurbishment and fabulous oak framed extension which is stunning and very light. Great atmosphere and a very friendly welcome from the staff. Well set up with COVID precautions and felt very safe. Food options were all tempting and the food was delicious. This is a really good pub restaurant and we’ll definitely return after lockdown. For locals, they are going to be doing takeaway deliveries during lockdown - I wish we lived nearer and could take advantage. Highly recommend this pub and it is extremely child and dog friendly.

I went for lunch today at the newly refurbished Swan inn. I couldn’t recommend it more not only is the decor beautiful and the atmosphere welcoming the food was outstanding.

The Swan Inn has recently been taken over by new owners and has been extensively renovated with a gorgeous new oak framed restaurant extension out the front. I was excited to see the changes. It’s beautifully decorated inside with a very warm and cozy feel. The managers and bar staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu had a nice selection on it with both vegetarian and vegan options. The food was delicious, especially the Chocolate Brownie! Good luck to The Swan team. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

We had heard good things and were intrigued to see for ourselves what the new owners had achieved after their top to tail renovation of the Swan at Sandhurst near Cranbrook.The evening got off to a flying start after we received a friendly greeting, welcoming smile and a reassuring explanation of the current house 'COVID etiquette' (please sign in, masks worn when not seated, hand gel on every table etc.) as we were shown to our table.Our first impressions were excellent. The pub/restaurant has a lovely warm feeling to it and a convivial atmosphere. You could see the staff were very attentive without being intrusive and there was a general hubbub of happy punters enjoying their food. Talking of which, the extensive list of offerings should cover most diners needs, including dishes clearly marked for gluten-free, veggie suitable etc. Having said that, we both had the slow-roast belly pork with scallops and crackling on a bed of celeriac and it was absolutely delicious. I just about managed to squeeze in an apple and blueberry crumble with custard at the end and was really pleased I did as it was mouthwateringly perfect!All in all, a delightful evening out with an excellent meal and service and we would highly recommend The Swan to others. We will be back!

We visited The Swan on the second day after it reopened. It has had an extensive refurbishment and now presents itself as a contemporary village eatery. Great food and lovely atmosphere with friendly happy staff. Well done. Will come again.

Popped in here one evening whilst holidaying in the area after a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Lovely friendly bar lady and locals. Home cooked food was excellent and great value. Nice open fire at one end of the large bar. Plenty of seats and parking available. Easy to drive by this pub on way through to other villages but would recommend you stop and enjoy the same experience/hospitality we received.

The Swan is one of the cosiest pubs around, open fire at one end, Woodburner at the other, warm glow of candles, and friendly warm atmosphere, not to mention superb home cooked food. The chap that left the bad review below visited in the middle of a busy memorial function of a local young man who had been tragically killed in a car accident. The slide show on the tv were of the young man and his family, and emotions of the customers in the pub were running high as you’d expect.

To the comment below. I agree the bar staff are fantastic. Before you judge that evening in particular the pub was host to a unveiling of a memorial bench to mark the passing of three locals tragically killed recently. The slide show of family members was a dvd made by one of the locals which was being watched by one of the deceased mothers. In the circumstances is 40minutes really to long to mark for the comfort it brought to the grieving mother! To regards to the decor we all like it! Good luck to the best pub you visit next.

My husband and I took our 15 month old for dinner this evening and we couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome! We had the beef lasagne with garlic bread and chips and it was delicious! The desserts were wonderful too. Highly recommended!

Go on in! The exterior may put people off this pub but inside it's really lovely. We had a lovely meal for four (veggie meal was lovely too) scampi and chips were very nice indeed and the service was top notch and really friendly.

The swan is a lovely village pub with a nice atmosphere family friendly and the food is hearty inexpensive and delicious especially the pies

No esperábamos mucho, pero eran muy agradecidos por 1 almuerzo vegetariano campo principal. El casero queso y cebolla pastel era delicioso y un buen trozo de pastel. Servido con hojas opuestas y un buen aderezo de ensalada fue una agradable comida barata entre grandes lugares y atracciones turísticas. El pub real es muy luminoso y moderno y acogedor.
