We went here for our company's Christmas lunch, and couldn't have had a better time! The food was delicious, the pub was cosy and festive and their team were so welcoming to us and our office dog! Previous years we've headed to the 'bright lights of Rye' but this was way better - thank you!

The staff were very friendly and the pub was clean and tidy. However there were only 2 tables of diners in the pub, and they decided to jam us all in the same corner despite the pub being nearly empty all evening. We ordered 2 homemade lamb pies as there was only 1 steak pie left, but when we started to eat our pies, it soon became obvious they were both beef. This was raised with the waitress, who said when she asked the chef about this, they said they did not know how this had happened. I would suggest the pies are not made at this pub. No actual resolve was offered or real explanation, and although we were happy to eat the pies, it was a bit disappointing. Maybe a complimentary dessert would have been nice to have been offered. Overall, the food was average at best. I would say if you want a drink, pop in and have one, although the wine was a bit pricey, but for food, maybe not so much.
