I had booked the Ash Tree Farm for a family birthday. It was a Saturday afternoon so we expected it to be busy, however we were still able to get a free parking space and as soon as we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome and shown straight to our table. There were eight of us, so quite an order! But Sam, who was on the till taking the details from me, was polite and friendly and made everything really easy. We were seated near the play area which was great for the young children in our party. The food arrived and everything about our order was as we wished, and those of us having the carvery were delighted with the selection. All in all a great experience, thank you!

Arrived for Sunday lunch at 1 pm , told can’t order Sunday lunch because they had used all the meat for a kids party. Waited around 10 minutes then we were able to order. Food came around 20 minutes later, it looked lovely, unfortunately it wasn’t very hot, no stuffing on my turkey dinner, and the veg was very hard, the meat was nice and when I eventually got some stuffing it was nice and hot. The staff were lovely, on the way out I told the lady behind the bar that it was all cold . Was it worth £35 no definitely not.

My mum pops in when out shopping to buy treats for the kids, they make lovely gingerbread biscuits, the latest she bought were Paw Patrol characters, my 3 year old daughter loved her Skye gingerbread. Mum also gets pies and sausage rolls for an easy lunch, all very nice.

Went for the afternoon Fish and Chip deal. Food arrived promptly and was very hot and tasty. Batter was a bit soggy and greasy on this occasion, so not as good. As now no San Miguel and not so keen on the Angelo Poretti replacement tried the bottled World Beers of Tyskie and Staropramen instead. You get more than a pint (650ml) and it is stronger than the draft lager so when included with the meal @£9.11pp it is exceptionally good value. Cannot beat Spoons for prices these days.

We recently had a festive menu lunch at this restaurant - we were disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were uncomfortably cold, and were glad to put our coats back on at the end of the meal. Some of the food was poor, with vegetables undercooked - sprouts hard as bullets. Our Christmas pudding dessert, whilst tasty, was the smallest portion of pudding I've every seen in my life - it was barely 4 spoonfuls. Another dessert we ordered arrived in a sensible sized portion and was very tasty. The non-festive food options looked very nice and with hindsight they would have been a better choice. My advice is save yourself some money and order from the standard menu.
