Finding myself unexpectedly in Weaverham, and wanting something to eat, I found the Devonshire Bakery. I was warmly welcomed, and selected a light lunch from the menu. It was delicious. I was just too late for the cooked "breakfast"; I shall try that when I am next in the village. Free parking is available in front of the venue, and nearby. All staff were friendly and helpful; highly recommended.

Four of us visited on Bank Holiday Monday having heard really good things about the restaurant. We were very disappointed. The toad in the hole was burnt all the way through. How any self respecting professional chef could allow inedible food the leave their kitchen is beyond me. We also ordered the mix grill but the steak we ordered medium rare was overcooked and tough as old boots. It was also missing the egg which arrived separately on a plate swimming in oil. The very small pieces of bream only came with a handful of chips. Service was poor - we were waiting for 10 minutes for our dessert menus while the staff were chatting behind the bar. It certainly didn't justify the £100+ bill.

I visited Dormouse Haven with a friend for the Savoury Afternoon Tea. What a hidden treasure and fabulous experience. The food was delicious and it just kept coming... the decor is unique, the hospitality friendly and attentive; especially by our server Billy. I will most certainly be back.

We have never been to The Hare and Hounds in Crowton before. What a find! A lovely country pub with well looked after cask ales, we decided to have some food, a delicious chilli and cheesy garlic bread, very tasty and reasonably priced. A lovely real fire, relaxed country surroundings, truly a gem! Definitely worth a visit!

We had a wonderful visit to the hanging gate for Mothers Day. We were a large party at 13, with four children. One who required a highchair chair. This was no problem at all for the pub. The table was ready including highchair, as soon as we arrived. Our table was situated near to the doors to the garden area. Which is enclosed, so great for children to play. We pre-ordered from the set menu, all the food was delicious! Especially the roast dinners. Would highly recommend! The staff were so friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you.

We have visited before and enjoyed it so decided to go for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Warmly greeted by staff member and were able to choose our own table. They were very busy as had a function in the dining-room but we were not kept waiting long at all. We both opted for the lunch menu, my husband going for the three courses and two for myself. Our meals included the chilli nachos and the small fish and chips, which were plenty, the sticky toffee pudding with custard and the ice-cream. All delicious and excellent value. Will definitely return in the near future.

Nice location and friendly welcome. Shown to table 3.30pm, drinks and food ordered 3.35pm. Very pleasant young lady. Drinks arrived at 4pm, starters arrived at 4.20pm. Main course arrived 5.05pm. There were a number of people in the restaurant and all getting tetchy with the delays of service. We asked about late drinks and were informed there's a back up! When the food did arrive it was very good and enjoyable. My issue is the time factor. 25minutes to pour 2 soft drinks! 45 minutes for starters and an hour and half for main courses. We didn't bother with desserts as could have been a further long delay. Be prepared if you go to this restaurant for a long wait. The service and food is very good but they really need to speed up the kitchen service, it's appalling. We won't be rushing back!!
