Fascinating visit to a great resteraunt. History and good food, both provided by knowledgeable and professional Tina - thank you very much, we’ll be back!

The only negative is that we didn’t find The Clink sooner. Warmest of welcome into an incredible building- kitchen was about to close but no problem serving us just made us feel instantly relaxed Food was all delicious… and our server - Hannah was so lovely! Super helpful with recommendations from menu (she nailed it!) and really pleasant and polite attitude Sad this incredible restaurant is closing in July but we will definitely be back!

Amazing food, amazing service! Came Easter Sunday for a meal with the family, was very busy, but nothing was too much trouble! Always very warm and welcoming! X

We had an excellent lunch having walked from NT Quarry Bank (only 15 minutes). We both ordered the soup of the day; cauliflower, chickpea and ginger soup. We had a little chuckle with the lady about '2 soups' (a Julie Walters/ Victoria Wood sketch). It was delicious with just enough 'kick' to it and served with crusty chunky seeded bread 😋. Nice crafty items for sale in the little village shop. Excellent community cafe, highly recommend.

The most appalling 'meal' and service that I have ever been subjected to. We ordered steak and ale pie and this was brought out to us and placed on our table and described as a pie. However, there was absolutely no pastry, just a bit of gravy in a dish. When I called the waiter back he said 'to be honest, we've ran out of pastry' - are these people for real? To add insult to injury, the manager actually tried to charge us for the pies we never received!!!! Shambolic and not for the first time, but definitely for the last. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY!!!!

Nice pub with outside seating, member of staff who served us was very nice and helpful. My only criticism was the food, unfortunately we ordered the crab pot dip and bread, the bread was as hard as rocks and couldn’t be eaten and you could not taste any crab, at £11 for this starter I expected better. We mentioned it to the manager who basically just said he would “mention it to the chef”, the main course was ok but our friends both had the chicken burger and it was mainly hard , burnt crust which had to be cut off and unedible, the chips I would have expected a choice of chunky chips or fries instead we got a few skinny fries on the plate. At the end of the day it is a pub meal which turned out to be a very basic pub meal.

Our first visit and it won’t be the last. Great for a Sunday lunch. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.
