London prices in Brentwood, burger and chips and steak bun and chips, 2 coffees was £43 Coffee was ok Chips were overcooked and burger greasey .. won’t be returning

Was welcomed by a lovely polite and attentive member of staff. Tables nice and clean. Ordered an egg sandwich which came in lovely fresh granary bread and a fresh side salad. Will definitely go back.

Very disappointing, it was chaotic, slow and when the food eventually arrived it was not hot! It took over an hour from sitting down to the food arriving, however, Deliveroo drivers were in and out like yo-yo’s evidently taking the kitchen’s time and priority over the customers on site. The shepherds pie was pitiful, hardly any meat, and lukewarm and served with a side of cubed potatoes when the pie was mainly mash. The kids fish fingers were over cooked, dry and hard. Needless to say we won’t be returning and I doubt that several table around us will either as everyone was frustrated by the extended wait but all witnessing the endless stream of motorbike delivery guys walking in and out!

I don't usually write reviews, but I was really disappointed in the quality of food at this place, it's great concept with the small kids' area so people with kids can sit and have their food or coffee whilst their kids play however when eating out and paying £27 for 2x breakfast meals and 2 coffees you'd expect good quality food something a little nicer than you could make yourself at home. The pancakes were the ones you get in a packet from the supermarket £1 for packet of 6 that you put down in the toaster with 2 slices of bacon and half a tin of syrup you'd expect fresh pancakes for the price of £12. The avocado on toast was tasteless really thick white bread with just avocado spreaded on top really poorly displayed for a cafe/restaurant- if you are ordering crushed avocado on toast, you usually get it on a nice piece of sourdough fresh bread with chilli seeds cherry tomatoes and rocket or radishes with feta and balsamic glaze or nice tasting sauce of some kind, it was so basic for the price you pay. The coffee I couldn't even drink, it was also tasteless- I'd also suggest them investing in a decent coffee machine if they are going to charge £3 for a coffee. Also, please note the venue has a black baby gate as you enter via a ramp it's quite tricky to open especially if you are on your own with a buggy.

We have just had a lovely meal here. We rarely have carvery but really enjoyed our meal - two carvery and one vegetarian pie. The meat was beautifully carved and vegetables freshly topped up. Service was excellent. We arrived a bit late but the duty manager soon sorted a table in a quiet area. Without doubt, the highlight of our visit was the outstanding service by Darcy. Service is such an important part of dining out and Darcy is an asset to Toby Carvery

Such a disappointing visit. Kids running around in the bar, throwing balls. These parents leave food all over the floor & one changed the child’s nappy at the table. These parents are clearly of the thoughts ‘out of sight out of mind’. I know not all parents are like this & indeed some families where sat down having a lovely family time. I have brought up an autistic child & believe me I understand about bad behaviour, but this was like a kids playground. No respect for the surroundings and of others diners. Shame Wetherspoons do not have a stricter policy on this.

I visited Rooster Piri Piri with my mum, excited to try it as it looked so good. However, when I saw the menu, I was shocked by the high prices, which didn’t seem worth it at all. After trying the food, I ended up with a stomach ache the next day. The food was flavorless, and the chicken burger I ordered turned out to be a disappointment—a mini chicken wing with a bone was thrown into the burger. I ordered extra hot chicken, but it wasn’t hot at all; it was bland. I felt sick and couldn’t finish my food, eventually having to throw it away. I will never order from here again and do not recommend it to anyone. If you want grilled chicken, go elsewhere.
