The best restaurants serving British food in Wollaton West Nottingham East Midlands

I expected more from a Greeneking pub but was met with a packed and noisy pub, where we had hoped to sample the reputed good food. It was horrendous. Booked a table which was then not reserved and taken over by a family, so we finally found another table which we hoped would be ok. When finally deciding what to eat we were informed it would be at least an hour. What’s the point of booking then? The staff were busy and uninterested so we walked out and had a great much quieter dinner five minutes away where time and trouble was taken to ensure we had a lovely dinner despite not having booked. The whole experience here was appalling.

Venue is pleasant enough but the rest was very disappointing. I ordered the turkey Sunday dinner that was supposed to come with bacon wrapped stuffing. When the plate came out it had three small thin pieces of sliced turkey, and the plate was mainly filled with a Yorkshire pudding and the grave boat. There was no stuffing ball so i went to query this and the waiter had to look at the menu to confirm this. When it came out it was one small ball of stuffing, wish I'd not bothered. No body came to our table to see if everything was ok and the staff seemed non existent all "hiding" in the kitchen. Atmosphere wise it was very quiet for a Sunday afternoon but was also very cold. i realized after a while that the draft we were feeling was coming from an air conditioning vent in the ceiling blowing out cold air. We have eaten at other Ember Inns and enjoyed it but this was the worst we have ever been to, so won't be going there again.

Food was terrible, oily and greasy, upset stomach.

Service was very good, food was hot and delicious and we had a lovely time for my birthday. 4 adults, all food came together and was correct even though we made some adjustments to the standard menu which is appreciated.
