I'm not entirely certain whether Derbyshire boasts the finest pubs and exceptional beer, or if I've simply struck lucky today. My word, the beer here is delightful! The staff are wonderfully friendly, and there's an incredibly relaxed atmosphere. It's a truly lovely place to unwind, relish quality beer, and feel genuinely welcomed.

Lovely boutique hotel. Rooms clean bathroom lovely. Only thing missing a mirror in bedroom. Staff friendly. Cooked breakfast amazing but had to pay extra included in room price continental breakfast seemed a little sparse. Evening meal was satisfactory

It was a huge disappointment. I had planned a relaxing spa day with my husband, but this place was nothing like a real spa. There were only two small cabins with a sauna and jacuzzi, hidden away in a scruffy corner of the hotel. Lounge chairs were awkwardly placed in the hallway. The outdoor pool was freezing, and of course, we got the usual speech about it being a "health pool," but that was just an excuse—it was simply a regular pool exposed to the rain. The lockers in the changing room didn’t even have keys. The moment I saw it all, I felt like crying.

We called in for fish n chips on a busy Saturday night. We needed to wait about 5mins for the fish but that was OK. It was my first time visiting, and was lucky enough to get a table on the busy night. Food was pipping hot and was very nice. The dining space could do with a bit of tlc.

Location excellent, food has never been bad but this isn’t my first experience in this pub where the staff are rude, unpleasant and moody. The pub wasn’t busy today giving the weather majority of people were outside. I had my one year old and the pram next to the table. A kitchen staff member came out and shoved the pram to the side without speaking to me first. If asked to move nicely I would have moved to another seat or put the pram away where asked to. The bar staff looked like they hated their lives and jobs. It could be a beautiful pub for a range of customers. It’s a shame the old lady and angry kitchen staff let it down.
