Really enjoyed our lunch here - a little bit out of the town centre but seems very popular and the food was good. The cafe was clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Mill House tea rooms all ready have a large following on face book. New to the Castle but didn't disappoint, the attention to detail and service was very good. Beautiful music by a local gentleman added to the ambiance which was lovely , and provided on the day we went. Really impressed with the tea, sandwiches and huge variety of cakes! You will not be disappointed.

Lovely time as always we go every Wednesday for dinner/supper. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly, I had ordered a plain burger and wanted to double up with the patty but it came with bacon, a waitresses named Carole was so kind as to get my order right for me and the issue was resolved quickly. Definitely recommend its a very good place cater to your every need if you're fussy with food like me 😊, also great for family's looking for somewhere to go to eat for any occasion or meal time very spacious too. My #1 place to eat out.

My Aunt and I were looking for somewhere to stay while we visited my uncle (her brother) during summer 2024 and, after I did a search on the internet, I found this place. It looked like a good place from their website but we'd never been before. We stayed 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis and dined there on an evening. We were very impressed with the location, the building, the staff and the food and drink. The parking was somewhat limited (some parking spaces onsite with additional parking across the road), and the accommodation is accessed up a bit of a steep staircase but those are the only two things I would mention, not as a complaint but in case there are people looking to visit who might have issues with stairs, etc. They are also dog friendly, so I've put it on my maybe list if I'm ever this way again with my dog but would definitely book again in the future if I'm ever in need of accommodation in this area again.

My wife and I visited the Club for Sunday Lunch on 06th June 2021. We were very impressed with the hearty welcome of the staff and the way we were treated in general. After reviewing the comprehensive Luncheon Menu I had the traditional Roast Beef and Y/Pudding and my wife had the Steak and Ale Pie. The meals were very good and presented as well as any first class Restaurant. All the ingredients were cooked perfectly to our liking. The drinks we ordered were very reasonably priced,as was the menu meals and deserts. will be visiting again for sure very soon. We were so full and satisfied we could not handle dessert. Terrible service 30 minutes to get drinks and over an hour to get food. Staff sat on their phones rather than interacting and seeing if the food was okay. Salmon full of bones with burned mash Worst steak ever. Not our first time but definitely the last

Met family travelled 3half hours for a family meal ordered 4 mix grills all cremated over done parts of meals missing chicken burgers dry fries stone cold cremated curry cold no wonder place was deserted

Poor customer service, extremely rude and lazy. I recognised one of the younger member of staff from her severely bullying my niece not too long ago. Called and let them know of this situation for their own sake, and the manager was rude and said there was nothing they could do.

Busy local pub that welcomes people from lots of other areas. Not a great selection of draught beers on offer (and some that are on offer have been the same for ages). Food options are good and portion sizes are decent. Popular at the weekends. Shows live sports. Also has accommodation on site.

The best Sunday lunch in the area, if not country! Julie, Neil and their team looked after us and made us very welcome. Thank you very much for an enjoyable visit. We will be back soon!

Visited on a Thursday and was empty. Lacked any atmosphere. Food menu was okay as was the food. Friendly staff in modern cafe style setting

The reason I've only given a 3 rating is because Butterwicks cakes are so sickly. There's way too much butter cream on the cakes. I'm sure the butter cream use to be different. Same as the icing on the doughnuts.very sweet. Also the sponge is very dense and stodgy. I've heard a few people say the same. I loved Butterwick as well. 😕.

1st time for 10 years. Will definitely be back. Rebecca was fantastic, very helpful and polite. Food was lovely Thankyou x
