We have eaten at The George several times - and never been disappointed - and the Sunday roast we had today was as good as we hoped. The plate was full, the gravy was plentiful, and the extra bowl of cauliflower cheese was a lovely surprise!!We also had desserts (apple crumble pie and sticky toffee pudding) and these were also of a very high quality. All the staff are friendly and helpful - including the hardworking kitchen crew - and overall it is just a good place to be.

Been in Weldon for a couple of weeks and eaten here several times. Food has always been quick and hot. Large portions and well presented. The staff are lovely and very attentive. Can't praise them enough. Keep up the great work team and complements to the chef.

Very disappointed with lunch today, greasy chips, salmon cooked to a crisp, pasta dishes pretty bland.

Went out on a whim to find somewhere nice to have Sunday lunch. Well couldn’t have picked any nicer. We both went for the Sunday roast, lovely food, so much meat I couldn’t eat all mine. There was also an extra gravy dish which you don’t very often get and a big dish of cauliflower cheese which was so tasty. For one starter and two mains what a good price of £21. Will definitely go back.

Food & service very good. In fact best burger I can remember having for a long time and I eat out a lot.The George losses out on it's presentation and entrance AND where it says Mind the Step do just that, it's down and immediately inside door. Parking is behind a row of houses and nothing signs exactly where George entrance is Then you wander up through the garden & wonder which door is the one leading into bar. A little bit of attention to entrance & overall presentation would make such a difference because the food really is a level up from usual pub grub.

Beautiful pub. So pretty and wonderful quaint garden. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, and log cabin burning in every room. Lovely table for 4. Service was excellent and the food lovely. They do not server roast beef pink so I opted for the lamb(as I can have that more well done) and it was delicious. Asked for extra gravy which wasn't a problem. Good main course portions with generous serving of meat. Vegetables served separately. Were lovely very limited choice, Brussel sprouts, mashed swedes, carrots and turnips then diced turnips and swedes. Hubby doesn't eat any of those vegetables. We also ordered chunky chips which were delicious. Cooked to perfection, crisp on the outside and golden fluffy interior. The roast potatoes were fresh and cooked excellently too. Wasn't keen o the Yorkshire if am honest, was small and tough. Friends had desserts and said they were delicious. Irish coffees made to perfection, double cream excellently sitting on the top of the coffee. Place was spotlessly clean. Lovely atmosphere too.

Our group had booked a meal at The George. Staff were very nice and friendly. Food service was extremely slow (despite having our orders in advance) and some were left waiting for their food when everyone else had been served the main course or starter. Portions were generous but the meals were poor. I would not recommend.

Went to the George for my birthday meal with family. Excellent food, tasty and reasonably priced. Selection of real ales available all served with friendly and polite staff. Only let down by the gents toilets having poor hygiene standards.

We had a fantastic evening. Our waitress Jaimee was brilliant, very informative and knowledgeable. The meal was delicious, served with a smile and half price thanks to the Eat Out scheme.

We visited on a Thursday evening for the Steak Night. Choice of sirloin or rump, both were excellent and tasted breed than some Ribeye I’d bought from Morrisons. Home made Diane sauce too. Cooked to
