The best restaurants serving Asian food in Powys Mid Wales

We popped into Gorkha & Khukuri for a last minute bite to eat on a hiking trip. We were a little unsure at first as the restaurant is in a golf club house and was very quiet due to the weather. DO NOT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF! We were greeted with a warm welcome and talked through some recommendations by the owner, a really nice young guy. We had starters and mains and it was all authentic, fresh and absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend the chicken fried momos! Chatted with the owner for a while after dinner who is a really friendly interesting guy to talk to. Can’t recommend this place enough. If you are after good quality street food, good portions and great value for money then look no further. JUST GO!

Very clean and tidy restaurant serving delicious food - all home made. We were a party of six people and everyone was very satisfied with the quality of their meals. First class and good value. 😋

Was staying in the area and needed a takeout, saw a leaflet for this one and went for it! Food was amazing, generous portions, fresh tasting ingredients and the value for money was great, not to mention it was ready within half an hour of ordering!! Would definitely recommend

Good hearty food in a comfortable surroundings. The food is enjoyable and tasty. A bit different from Indian and Chinese. It somewhere between.

ATTENTION The takeaway is the worst in Newtown Powys!!! Best avoided if you do not want food poisoning… The food/ culinary skill… they have non at all. I’m surprised they have not been shut down
