We popped into Gorkha & Khukuri for a last minute bite to eat on a hiking trip. We were a little unsure at first as the restaurant is in a golf club house and was very quiet due to the weather. DO NOT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF! We were greeted with a warm welcome and talked through some recommendations by the owner, a really nice young guy. We had starters and mains and it was all authentic, fresh and absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend the chicken fried momos! Chatted with the owner for a while after dinner who is a really friendly interesting guy to talk to. Can’t recommend this place enough. If you are after good quality street food, good portions and great value for money then look no further. JUST GO!

We were visiting the area and found this restaurant on Google maps. Found it a rather strange set up as it is inside the golf club and wondered if we had the right place! We ordered a chicken curry, pork curry and a fried wai wai and spring rolls to take away. The service was friendly and we had drinks while we waited and they asked the level of spice we’d like. Piping hot and large servings. A nice change to a normal curry.

Excellent food, friendly staff. Very genuine. You can choose your level of spiciness. Very different from your standard curry.

The location is something of a suprise, as it's the clubhouse of a golf club. Stick with it, though, and you will rewarded with excellent food in a friendly atmosphere. The staff offer straightforward advice on the Nepalese focused menu and were extremely friendly throughout the evening.

OMG portion was too big to eat but I got a doggy bag. Thukpa was perfect for a chilly night - so tasty! Chilli Chicken Momos were amazing!! They do take away too so this is definitely going to be my go to place when I don’t want to cook! Can’t fault the staff - so friendly and helpful. A suggestion of Gurkha beer to go with food was the perfect suggestion. Definitely will be returning!!

We stopped for a meal here and went for the Momos and Thali. Would highly recommend. The food was great, the young lady serving was lovely and the selection of draft beer was spot on. Will definitely go back and recommend 😃

Warm welcome from staff and delicious Nepalese food. Based in the clubhouse at Brecon golf club which is open to nonmembers. Simple and unfussy surroundings but with a great view. Reasonably priced menu that is eat in or takeaway. They also do a range of breakfast baps. A hidden gem that is great if you are wanting a food stop after a hard day walking in the hills.

Wow!! Hopefully a lot of people will start hearing about this little new gem of a place. Located at Brecon Golf club we weren't sure what to expect. But the food was amazing because this is real Nepalese food. This is what we grew up eating back home in restaurants or on the streets. The staff were very friendly too. Sukuti Chatpate is a must. Highly recommend if you fancy trying real Nepalese street foods.

Went for a lovely meal last night at Gorkha & Khukuri (based in Brecon Golf Club). Traditional Nepalese food beautifully prepared and incredibly tasty. The menu is only small (always a good sign) but there's still plenty of choice and the friendly staff are happy to explain the different dishes. The Gorkha Chatpate is definitely worth a try as is the Chilli Sukuti and the Momo fried chicken dumplings. They also do the best Chowmein in Brecon! Great food, lovely staff and very good value for money.

A group of 7 of us had a lovely evening at the Gorkha & Khukuri. The hospitality of the staff was fantastic we had a selection of dishes all were very good but the Spicy MoMo Chicken was out of this world. One of the nicest meals I have had for a very long time.

Cannot give a review of the food as it never came after an hour and 30 of waiting. Waited 20 mins and had to ask twice for a bottle beer. Was told 30-40 mins wait for food and as had kids, we ordered simple dishes that still hadn’t arrived and hour after ordering even though every other customer in the restaurant arrived after us and were served their mains before we even got a starter! When I told them to cancel the order I was told your food is now ready, for them to bring over an order which was for another table , at which point I had two crying children, I felt we were discriminated either for having children or being Asian ( which is funny in a Thai restaurant I know), we got up and refused to wait any longer, we walked towards to the door to leave refusing to pay for the two beers I had ordered, as the refused to take card payment and stated CASH ONLY, (which was not mentioned at all prior to being seated or order being placed, other customers were being sent to a local cash point when it came to paying a bill which seems a common occurrence looking at other reviews, which the local licensing committee and HMRC will be made aware of tomorrow) A bullish male was then sent out to obstruct us, when I asked him nicely to step outside to talk to me as he had other customers he grabbed my arm at which point I lost my “sh”t”. Apologies to other customers but this was terrible, totally unacceptable, and all I will say that this establishment ruined what was a beautiful weekend… terrible staff, terrible attitude even my 8 year old asked “daddy why haven’t they apologised for the wait” Run by south Asians not Thai people to be clear also, food may have been good but after 1:30 the only thing we tried were prawn crackers. Shame on this place…
