I stayed in the hotel with a friend who unfortunately couldn't eat dinner due to other commitments so I ate on my own. Where do i start food amazing staff fantastic never felt being on my own as staff looked after me I'm disabled. The steak melts in your mouth. Choice of mains very good followed by great choice of deserts over all I would recommend anyone to go We also had rhe breakfast which again was fantastic good choices as well

What a great pub, lovely atmosphere, warm and welcoming and spotlessly clean, the landlady takes great pride in this pub and it shows, love coming here.

Went for a family meal. Service was sporadic, I think they need more staff. Asked for a drink with no ice, it came with loads of ice in it. Asked for jugs of water, two jugs came and my sister had to get the glasses off the bar as they weren't bought to us. My salmon was hard, I think it was over cooked, food tasted bland, pudding wasn't great, I had cheesecake, it was bland no flavour, like it had just come out of a box not home made.

Before I review this restaurant and meal, I must declare that my partner and I were here redeeming a buy a gift voucher, a Christmas present. The menu was limited. The voucher was for a 2-course lunch, so I can only judge on this special menu. We arrived and were promptly seated upstairs at a very nice table by a window looking out towards the Lake. A smiling young lady asked us for our drink order, these were not included on the voucher. It would have been nice if she had introduced herself by giving her name; these little touches overlooked by restaurants do help with good customer service. After a a short while our order was taken. The voucher entitles you to two courses, a starter and a main or a main and a dessert. You can plump for all 3 with an extra cost added at the end. I went for a beef crunchy salad, which was very nice and moorish my partner went for the mushroom soup, a little over seasoned but on all accounts not bad. The mains had 3 selections which included a veggie option, We were told on arrival that one of the selections was not available but had been replaced by a Shepherd's pie. We both went for this option. The Pie was served in a miniature saucepan filled with a very well-cooked lamb mince with miniature carrots, peas, and leek, topped off with a fluffy mashed potato, New baby potatoes in their skins and a nice Lamb gravy with greens supplied from Weston Parks very own walled garden. Very nice. This was exceptional, possibly the best Shepherds Pie we have ever had bravo to the chef. I decided to go for a Dessert; my partner went for a liquor coffee. A sticky Toffee pudding was chosen by myself . At this point in the proceedings, things started falling apart. My partner was served her drink pretty quickly, but my pud seemed to take ages to arrive. It is always good restaurant etiquette to serve things together. This did not happen. The Pudding was very good, nice sponge with a lovely sticky topping and a scoop of the most creamy tasty ice cream produced in Shropshire . This was, again, exceptional. Overall a nice meal deserving of the one AA Rosette just a pity the small things spoiled what was a very good lunch.

Had seen this open in the tea rooms on Kinver high street, and as a southern fried chicken lover couldn’t wait to go. Starters were lovely and very big portions, complimentary corn bread was great too. We both went for the classic southern fried chicken, a leg, thigh and breast with mash and greens. The breast fillet strip was cooked perfectly, unfortunately the leg and thigh were pink and warm as you got into it. We didn’t want to make a scene as it’s a very intimate place (12 people max) so whispered to the wonderful waitress and sent it away. I was shocked when she returned and the chef tried to defend it saying it is pink on the bone because of the veins in the chicken šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø A table nearby did the same, not because we did, but chicken and pink simply are a no no. Lovely little place, wonderful waitresses, great cocktail list….but need to take more care with their signature dish! Paid full price, wasn’t about that, but disappointed not to be offered any form of discount or a free drink given we sent 50% of the main course back! Sadly won’t be returning which is a real shame 😢
