My second visit today in as many weeks and really enjoyed it.Meal was spot on with service to match.Look forward to my next visit

19 of us went for my son in laws birthday. Never been before but will definitely return. The food was plentiful, piping hot and fresh. Staff very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Always a decent number of punters here. Lovely big beer garden and the food I have tried has all been very nice.

Good range of guest ales, well kept.

The food was lovely but waited at the bar for a few minutes to be served. Do customers get checked on anymore to make sure their food is ok because we didn't and when spending almost £80 in the time we were there I find this disappointing and paying £6.50 for a slice of cake with squirty cream, what a rip off.

First time going to the bentlands and the service and food was great, lovely atmosphere too. Definitely recommend a visit and can't wait to go back.

Was there for a cousins reunion. Really nice place and staff. Food was good. My husband took the curry but didn't like it. Plenty of appealing good. Will go again. We spent £50 per couple with the food and coffee or tea included for some of them.

Staff were exceptional. Due to my allergy,told the waitress & Chef went above & beyond to accommodate, in oder that I could have the meal I wanted. Thank you all

1st time been here, was a meet up for friends birthday. Place is lovely and really have to give a shout out to the staff service with a smile and make you feel welcome, Partner and daughter really enjoyed food and I did enjoy the ale 🍺 😀 would recommend and will return

Very good good and quick friendly service

What a great find. Absolutely lovely place, great outside area. We ordered meals which were delicious. The portion sizes are huge and we couldn't finish. Definitely recommend.

Six of us went on Monday 24th June to belatedly celebrate my birthday. Everything was spot on. We had a lovely table overlooking the gardens. The staff were all very efficient and friendly.

Fantastic as normal. One of the only places around that consistently delivers a fresh pint time after time.

Food is always excellent. Staff are courteous and have patience. Very alert to any allergies they need to be aware of. The Bentlands ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS has the best pint of Enville Ale. In my experiences of being a drinker lf many years this is a drink which is hard to get right. Bentlands really have it spot on everytime.

Visited today with family for 80th Birthday lunch. Food was excellent and staff very friendy. Good varied menu can highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken. Will definitely return for another meal soon.

Really nice pub / restaurant. I was in quite a large party for Easter Sunday lunch. Had a couple of drinks in the bar before dining and the bar service was great. Once in the restaurant the food was really good, I shared Nacho Supreme for two with my nephew and had a rare 8oz sirloin steak for my main, which was cooked perfectly. The service was great, with several tabs being run between everyone at the table without issues.

Had a great meal on Friday night. Nothing we asked was too much having 1 coeliac in our group. They ensured all food was adequate for her needs.

Really tricky this one. We visited on Tuesday night for a birthday. Table of 9, plenty of drinks, starters and mains, so the bill was not inconsiderable. The food, as always, was excellent. The choice and the menu was great, as was the girl who was serving the table, really ameanable and friendly, and the service was good, however towards the end of the evening it became quite clear as the pub started to empty out about 10ish, that we had overstayed our welcome. The table was booked at 8, so 2 hours for 9 people for 3 courses. We were told in quite an abrupt fashion that we should be thinking about leaving, and as we walked out were pretty much looked up and down by someone sat at the bar who we then found out was the supervisor. It's a real shame, as the food here is genuinely excellent, but the service and attitude the last couple of times we've visited has been enough for us to not return.

Excellent pub serving good food and drinks. Service was brilliant, would 100% recommend. Food was nice and tasty, good portions also. Calamari was brilliant. Nice selections of drinks for kids and adults.

Children beware. Pulled chicken is not plain chicken but spicy chicken (no description on the menu) when we complained we were offered replacement nachos with cheese or sour cream however my daughters mouth was burning which made her feel sick so I asked for a free dessert to cool her mouth. This was refused.

Lovely place, everyone, but myself enjoyed the meal. My jacket potatoe was still rock hard, which should have been noticed when the cut it open.

A great pub/restaurant with welcoming friendly staff and plenty of parking. Best to book a table in advance if you wish to eat there as they are very busy with quick turnaround once tables are vacated. Good choices of drinks both hot and cold at reasonable prices. Great variety on the menu also at reasonable prices. I went as part of a group of 8 friends in the early evening on a Saturday. The service was excellent with all our different dishes coming out at the same time. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal, it was delicious! Would highly recommend.

Amazing Tex-Mex food. Piping hot & a hearty plate full. Pub was heaving on a Wednesday night so recommend booking. Thanks to all staff who were very welcoming. Already planning a return visit.

Fabulous food. Staff were great. Especially Emma. Nice quiet atmosphere during lunch time. So full, had to take a doggy bag home. Thank you for a fab meal.

Lovely food is well worth a visit but if your going to eat it would be a good idea to ring & pre book a table especially on a weekend.

The Bentlands is a busy pub/restaurant with plenty of car parking. The seating is spread out in various different areas around a central bar. Some of the decor is a little tired but the place is very clean. The menu is quite varied with the usual pub grub and some Tex Mex dishes.The food is excellent: really tasty and superb value. There is also a good variety of drinks at sensible prices. The staff are really friendly, helpful and cheerful. I will definitely return here next time I’m in the area.

This is what I expect from pub food . Great welcome, organised and prompt service, good looking and really tasty, well cooked food. My only criticism would be to better describe your sweets. Just a name, conjured up all sorts of reasons not to choose a sweet I really like. But I chose well as the flavours rolled around in my mouth and delivered my expected, taste sensations. Thanks to all the staff at The Bentlands. We will be back and hopefully, comment further on our returning visits.

10 out of 10, couldn't fault anything, food lovely, staff so friendly and nice and couldn't help enough, 10 full bellies for my birthday.. Thankyou, staff are a credit, keep it up.

This is an excellent restaurant, specialising in Tex-Mex cuisine. There is ample vegetarian choice, and no loud background musack. The service is efficient and friendly. The helpings are substantial, so it’s worth considering sharing. Prices are reasonable, and there is ample parking. We’ll return soon.

We have been here a few times, always had a really lovely meal. The staff are always friendly & welcoming. We came here a few weeks ago, and I forgot to leave this review, but needs must! We had our autistic son with us that was slightly over stimulated. (Sorry, I dont know your name/ manager). This lady went out of her way, to print off his favourite characters to colour in and was absolutely brilliant with the children! (Power rangers posters!) We had a lovely meal and all ate far too much! However most times, it can be extremely difficult to stay for a meal with challenging children. But, at no point did we feel uncomfortable. We were made to feel very welcome, But just wanted to say, it made such the difference of having such wonderful staff with a personal caring touch. Definitely recommend 👌

Sunday lunch with my mum and it was awesome- food was soooo delicious and the beef melted in the mouth. portion sizes large- highly recommend as good value for money and the staff were lovely

Following (ample) brilliant experiences at the Bentlands, we arrived for what we hoped would be another fantastic meal. Our belief couldn’t be further from the truth. Upon arrrival, are party of 4 were seated by a young waitresss who promptly took our orders for both drinks and our meal (maybe a little too quickly). After an unusually long wait, 3 of the 4 meals were bought out and were told by the young waitress that the other meal was just a coupe of minutes away and that there had been a mess up in the kitchen. The young waitress was questioned but assured us that the meal was literally 2 minutes away. She was incorrect. This was a lie. An older waitress came over and apologised and said 1 meal had been cancelled in the kitchen as 2 of our party ordered the same meal. She said it would be a further 10-20 minutes for the 4th meal as the food is all cooked fresh. I would hope so for the price point! This meant the younger waitress time stamp was incorrect. We then said we’d cancel the 4th meal due to the great inconvenience caused and just 3 of us would eat. 1 free desert was offered but there was no point in this. We came out for a meal. Else, we would have gone to a a desert parlour. The 3 meals were (as expected) served to a high standard but our family of 4 were only able to eat as a family of 3. When the bill was delivered by the older waitress, the cancelled meal was still being charged for so we requested the manager who greeted us with nothing but arrogance. She blamed this issue on staff shortages. I understand times can be difficult in hospitality but her excuses weren’t appropriate or welcomed after our dreadful experience. She said she could take off the cancelled meal (this is the bare minimum) but could do nothing else as the rest of us enjoyed our meals. She was clearly missing the fact we came out to eat as a family of 4 and couldn’t due to her staff’s error. After continually arguing, she eventually agreed to remove 2 drinks from the bill. This argument and arrogance from the manger was uncalled for. She could have come over, apologised and rectified the issue. The rudeness wasn’t necessary.

Really lovely place with a nice atmosphere. Had a very tasty lunch served by welcoming pleasant staff. It was our first visit and we will definitely return for more!

Giving these stars for the waitress PIN... when we got there it was very crowded and we couldn't find a place to si.. we got spoken to very rudley by a waitress and then saw her gesture to the other staff... I felt like leaving at this point.. however I did not and we was served by a very welcoming happy member of staff. Thanks, pin!

We had an amazing Saturday lunch trying out the new festive menu. We didn't have a booking but the staff there were able to accommodate us which we're greatly thankful for. In my opinion The Bentlands is the best place to dine out in the area. The food is always beautiful and (in what's becoming exceedingly rare in the restaurant industry these days) the portion sizes are fantastic. We were all stuffed and extremely satisfied. You cannot fault the value for money. A special shout out to our hostess Pin. She, as always, was brilliant. Attentive, funny, and highly accommodating. Thanks to all for a great Saturday lunch experience. Sadly I didn't think to take any pictures if the scrumptious food but please go there and find out for yourself 🙂🤤.

A special night spoilt My wife and I went to The Bentlands this evening for a special occasion. The food and service couldn’t be faulted but a very, very loud party ruined the experience. I asked them to turn the volume down and also asked to speak to the manager. The manager was apologetic, offered a voucher and advised that she had asked the party to be quieter. That must have lasted for a good 60 seconds. Another customer then claimed that my language was inappropriate and this was immediately accepted by the manager. As the innocent party I feel very aggrieved and had a special evening ruined by inconsiderate people and poor customer care. We won’t be returning anytime soon.

Pleasant meal. Music playing in the background so not overpowering. Lovely staff.

Very good service and good food

Just returned after yet another amazing lunch. We eat here about once a month. The food is varied to cover everyone’s taste. We’ve never been disappointed on anything we’ve chosen. The staff are friendly and efficient but we must single out one particular person, Elle. She always remembers the little extra touches we like. The service she gives us is always exemplary. It’s a lovely family friendly pub/restaurant with exceptional food. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

One of the best beer gardens anywhere, reliably cracking food, great service, lovely staff and it's in Codsall, the centre of the bloody Universe, five minutes' walk from the station. To ask for more would be churlish, frankly.

Myself and a friend had a lovely lunch yesterday, delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere. Can't wait to go back again.

The Bentlands is our go-to place for all family occasions and never has it disappointed us. Our most recent visit was good as always . . a table for ten people as a birthday celebration. Lovely food, all served correctly and at the same time too! Always a good selection of drinks there along with friendly, helpful staff. We shall always return 🙂

Great pub with great service and lovely atmosphere.

Nothing and nowhere compares with the Mexican food they have here. We have been visiting for 20 yrs........ I know!!! and its always been a real treat for its food all of that time. Good quality and more than tasty. Nothing to complain of. Staff are always friendly and pleasant. You need to book and that's because the bar area has been made smaller which is the only draw back I can note. I love the Sombrero Rump steak and my partner enjoys their Tikka Masala, but we have tried other dishes a real treat. This is one place I can strongly recommend a salad. Such a mix of items. A joy. We come away more than satisfied.

We previously enjoyed a lovely meal here a few weeks ago so rebooked for my daughters 18th birthday. Our excitement was soon dampened by the abrupt unfriendly attitude of the manager on the evening of the 3rd October. The starters came in a timely fashion but unfortunately one dish was accompanied by a black hair. In fairness this meal was replaced. The mains arrived but again contained another hair this time blonde. Further drinks arrived with no glasses and at this point we felt we needed to bring this to their attention again. The attitude from the same apparent manager was not only dismissive but actually rude. Luckily we were then served by what appeared more junior members of staff who were actually a breath of fresh air. What should have been a memorable 18th birthday actually ended in a complete disappointment. The unfortunate thing is that the quality of food without the hair was very good but one individual seemed happy to ruin the experience. What a shame and totally unnecessary!!!!

Popped in for a couple of drinks after child minding. Never been in before, pleasant surprise. Didn't eat but menu looked nice, varied and good value. Loads of parking. Would definitely visit again

Visited for lunch today, and as always very impressed with service, value and atmosphere. Great menu and very reasonable. Highly recommend. Worth the trip down from North Wales just for the local beers - Wrexham lager not for me - much prefer to travel down for the Enville Ale which is always kept just right.

Lovely atmosphere and great service. A little less batter and frying of the fish would improve the quality of the fish and chips dish.

Bit expensive, but a decent pub. Beer selection was a bit standard, and would benifit from some beers from the smaller breweries.

I took my Mom for a Friday lunch, her favourite is always fish and chips, needless to say we will certainly be going again. The staff we all so friendly and welcoming, I would recommend a visit.

Enjoyed our first visit, food and portion sizes very good, they was extremely busy but staff when came to table were friendly, pleasant. Will definitely be back.

Visited for a family function(60th). We were greeted straight away by two young ladies, with a big smile and a warm welcome. The ladies took us straight to our table and looked after us throughout our stay. Service, ambiance, food was of a high standard. Both girls did a fantastic job, but Ellie went the extra mile. You need to appreciate what great staff you have. Very rare these days. Well done all!!

We love the Bentlands as its our local, and the beer garden is lovely. We ordered some food for our daughter, who has a dairy allergy, and made this clear to the server. Her food came out (corn, chips and chicken), and only after she took a bite of the sweetcorn did i notice it was covered in butter. Sent it back immediately and they brought out another swiftly with an apology. Sadly it was a little too late, and I spent the night up with my daughter with a very poorly tummy. Please review your allergy training with your staff. If my daughter was anaphylactic this could have been a very dangerous mistake!!

Stopped here on the way back from RAF Cosford as wanted some lunch and the first pub we had tried wasn't very good. The Bentlands however was the total opposite. Service was great and the food was excellent. Considering the car park was full when we arrived and I was told food might take a while it really didn't take much longer than you would expect. We did have a starter but that actually arrived really quickly. Bar service was a little slow at first but the quantity of staff was increased to rectify that. If you live in the area and haven't tried this place before or if you are visiting the museum and want lunch then this is definitely somewhere to go.

Table booked for 6pm and drinks order taken and served straightaway . So far so good ! However then it went downhill . No one returned to take our food order for a good while and then another delay between ordering and the food arriving meant it was now 7.30 , an hour and half since arrival . Out of 4 main meals 2 weren’t up to scratch with the gammon being particularly poor , thin and overcooked meant it looked more like a slice of bacon . The only positive was the waiting staff who were trying their best under difficult circumstances. It’s a shame as we’ve had many meals here but as our last two visits have not been to the usual standard we’ll be reluctant to visit again.

Didn't realise that this was the only place where u have to prove your age to have a zero alcohol drink .food was OK service wasn't the best and asking for id for my son who is 20 on that day couldn't have an zero alcohol beer ruined his birthday

I came to eat here with a friend on a Tuesday evening, we hadn’t booked thinking a Tuesday wouldn’t be that busy but it was really full inside and the only table they had available was at the front in the ‘bar’ area. Which wasn’t an issue at all apart from the fact the table is right in front of the toilets and the toilets smelt sooo bad, iv never smelt anything like it. Every time someone opened the door the waft of the smell was actually disgusting. The food took along time to come out and in the end I asked one of the waitresses to see how long it would be. When it did come, I could only eat just under half of the classic beef burger. I don’t know what was wrong with it but it tasted funny and I couldn’t eat it. It was really thick and dense. The chips had way to much seasoning on them so made them really dry and chalky to eat. I had four pieces of garlic bread as a side however one piece was burnt to a crisp .. what was the point of sending it out if I couldn’t of eaten it !!? The 3 other pieces were nice however. Staff were polite and attentive. Decor is nice Atmosphere is good very busy in there. One loud table behind us that were annoying. I hadn’t eaten here before and to be honest even though I live in the village and am local. I won’t eat here again.

First time experience of using this public house with family will definitely be going back.

I recently spent an evening at The Bentlands with a group of friends. The food was lovely and the service was excellent - a special thank you to George!

This pretty pub restaurant nestled in a picturesque spot in Codsall is always worth a visit . It had a homely classic appeal beautifully laid out. We go there a lot for family birthdays and they never disappoint they are very accommodating and welcoming. If for a large group best to book and they will facilitate your needs. The service is second to none with there excellent staff and the food quality and choice is out of this world. Catering to all tastes and dietary requirements. For a table of ice we all had different items but the look of joy and satisfaction was consistent across the table. And their staff add to the joy of the evening .

Visited on a Tuesdays night assuming we would get a table-it was Tuesday night after all- how wrong were we! The place was packed with only room in the bar to eat. This was fine but it was a game of jumping into someone’s seats as soon as they moved!! The waitress was very friendly and efficient. The food when it came (which again was quick) was fresh and very, very tasty. The portions were huge too so unless you have a massive appetite skip the starters! We shared a starter (nachos) and I couldn’t finish all of my main. This isn’t a chain pub/restaurant and you can definitely tell by the quality and quantity of food you receive, far superior than a beefeater or the likes. The prices too are below what the chains charge. Reason for not 5*- sorry Bentlands, not a fault of yours but the rowdy middle aged women who were screaming and shouting at 7pm, obviously drunk spoiled the atmosphere a little. I will be returning and recommending!!

Cracking food and value for money although the puddings are a bit pricey

We live in the area and this is our most reliable place to re-visit to eat out. The food is good, service good and prices also good. Menu is Tex-Mex with other pub and classic dishes. Good selection of beer.
