Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that I had my worst ever fish n chips there last September.. fish was not beer battered but some kind of tempura batter and the fish still had its skin on! Almost made me gag but had to get it down me and move on cos I needed the sustenance ans was far too tired to complain and make a fuss.. was doing the Pembrokeshire way.. chips were seriously average too, and the price wow like 20 quid! Uff

Excellent fish and chips. Great to be able to get one gluten free fish and chips - even took care to ask if coeliac so gave confidence. Also great cakes!

Cellar bar and restaurant nicely decorated, however was served Diet Coke out of a large bottle that you buy at a super market!!! There is no partition to stop the cold air from outside coming into restaurant so constantly staff in and out creating cold environment. Food portions are that of a tasting menu..... prices are very steep for what you get. Wife's apple terrine was size of 50p piece for £8.50. They have a long way to go to warrant charging fine dining London prices. Service and overall quality needs to be raised to warrant the pricing. Also dont want to be told sorry we are closing for a few weeks hence running down stock..... does that mean you the prices are less ? Has massive potential just needs to have its game raised and portions increased or make tasting menus to warrant the cost.

Visited the cellar bar this evening for drinks- wow!! We were served and looked after by Quinn, who was amazing. His knowledge of the cocktails (which were delicious) was superb, 10/10 charming, friendly service. He went above and beyond to make our evening very special. Beautiful cocktails and atmosphere, we enjoyed every second. Thank you Quinn, we will be back! From Jack, Ellie, Lucy and Mark

We were in Newport over Christmas and went in The Royal Oak a few times. On Christmas Day we were given a free drink for our first round even though we're not locals. The pub is well laid out with a super fish tank. The beer is good and there always seems a lively, though not too noisy, throng of customers. The Royal Oaks menu specializes in curry, although there are also many other dishes available. The curry is authentically made, the menu even carries a warning that they use proper spices. The food was excellent, plenty of it a value for money.

A Nando’s is a Nando’s so you get what it says on the tin. This experience was no different and delivered. Having said that, the restaurant was cold, the toilets were freezing (no soap in men’s toilet) and the music was uncomfortably loud. Considering that it was nearly empty, the attention to detail was surprisingly poor.
