The best restaurants in Gabalfa Cardiff South Wales

The menu is a nice mix of South Indian and Sri Lankan specialities and it was great to have Malabar parotta with beef - a taste of Kerala! We had the prawns from the 'short eats' section, which were outstanding and the lamb main was also full of flavour. We will be returning here the next time we're in Cardiff!

Service is fast and attentive, always been very kind. Food is delicious and has a wide variety on the menu.

Delicious! We come here almost weekly. The service is excellent and friendly.

The interpretation of rotis at brother thai is amazing. Not traditional but can really recommend them!! We also have enjoyed their version of Khao Soi, which is a very special dish from northern Thailand, happy to see it on a menu in the UK! Cocktails are also unique and delicious. Unfortunately we felt let down by some of the other dishes - and if you're Thai, it's easy to spot the "missing" flavours in certain dishes. For some reason the krapao was heavy on the dark/sweet soy, and light on garlic and fish sauce, which imo is what makes a krapao a krapao. We even requested the filling of the chicken basil roti to be served on rice (we felt that filling really reminded us of a pad krapao, also fyi translated it just means basil stir-fry), but again, we got a krapao that was heavy on the sweet side. Would also be nice to have fish sauce served on the side for the fried egg (small addition that would make a huge difference!). The crispy mushroom salad also lacked flavour (realised in hindsight probably because it is veggie it's made without fish sauce, maybe make that an option?) Stick to the rotis and Khao soi and you'll have a great dining experience here (I would've rated 3/5 if it wasn't for these dishes).

Food is too pricey here for a small portion

If I could put a minus 1 review I deffo would. So my husband drove 20 minutes away to look for something to eat. The restaurant was empty and no one inside at all so my husband felt sorry for them so he decided to go inside and order some food for him myself and my 2 children. He ordered one chicken curry and one lamb curry. He then asked the kids menu they told him that he can order from the kids menu 1 burger and 1 chicken nuggets. Both as a meal. The food came to a total of 29 pounds. When he arrived home we both was shocked to see what we saw. Only 1 burger meal and 7 pieces of chips and 2 pieces of chicken nuggets. For both of the kids 7 chips only all in 1 box together. I called the restaurant back as I was very unhappy and the guy on the phone wether manager or not he was very very rude. He said apparently he didn't hear him or he said my husband said that he wanted burger meal only wich was false as I was on the phone to him as he said it not once not twice 3 times. Guys do not go here rip of completely food doesn't even taste nice my children were starving after I had to make them some food as they complain they wanted more chips. Complete rip off and so rude about everything guys do not get ripped off from this place at all discusting attitude very rude staff very rude service. I'm so glad I didn't order for delivery

Drove there especially on a Sunday to try it for the first time to find it closed while it was showing as open on Google.

Fabulous service! I enjoyed the food and all that came with it very much, lovely staff as well helpful with all my asks and needs. I would highly recommend!
