Gutted. Have been throwing the last few days and can’t eat anything 😞. DO NOT recommend the Chicken satay rice umm think I got salmonella Cheers guys x

Came here Saturday, early afternoon. Was quiet when we arrived with only us and another couple there. Very nice place inside. Didn't take long before we had cocktails in our hands which were very nice. For food we ordered a few different things as we wanted to try a couple. We had red thai curry, pad krapow, beef roti, wontons, cucumber salad and fried chicken. It was all absolutely stunning, packed with flavours and freshness. Washed it all down with some beers. Couldn't fault any of our experience at all. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Well done brother thai, will be back for sure!

The food is always incredible! My go-to is the sticky beef roti and the fried chicken. Probably some of the best fried chicken that I’ve eaten. Lovely mocktails as well, which is useful if you’re driving, and nice to have non-alcoholic variety.

Brother Thai is an absolute gem of a place! All the food is bursting with flavor, and the service is quick if you don't have much time. Highly recommend the Sticky Spicy Beef Roti and Thai Fried Chicken, honestly, elite-level food.

We are very annoyed, firstly we were a little late just by 3min outside your waiting time to be told we are too late and that your kitchen had closed, this was at 21:18 and the last booking is Evan at 21:30. So instead of letting us order they turned us away. Your bookings say say 21:30 for last booking? so your kitchen was still open. You obviously don’t care about your customers even though we apologised but you still turned us away. We are regular customers and usually spend around £200 every time we visit. Absolutely terrible service

Iv been waiting to eat here for years and Brother thai did not disappoint, everything we had was delicious. We shared Thai red curry, the cucumber salad & Sticky beef roti! I’d do it all again, id go with more people in future so we can try it all. Highly recommend, lovely atmosphere, & wonderful team.

Probably one of the best places to eat in Cardiff if not in the UK. An absolutely unique gem, the rotis are mouthwatering, their specials are fantastic, and the cocktails marvelous. I probably come here once every month or so

Wow, amazingly tasty food and great service. We had just returned from Thailand and wanted to continue our culinary experience! This place certainly didn’t disappoint. The Roti abd Rice dishes are fantastic.

There are not many things in my life that make me smile with joy involuntarily. The food at Brother Thai is one of them. It's infuriating other restaurants charge so much for such offences to animals and plants as ingredients for food, but you can stop that. Absolutely delicious and a tasty symphony. I'm just a bit sad I didn't know about Brother Thai sooner, I've missed three years of its existence.

One of my favourite local haunts. Great for a nice sit down and a casual lunch too. Food has always been delicious and well priced (menu’s most expensive item tops out at around £13 so can fill up without breaking the bank) The fried chicken thighs are easily amongst my top 3 favourite in all of Cardiff and they’re wicked in the satay or as a side dish. Adore the rice bowls and rotis and mates have always loved the variety of dishes and drinks. Shout out to the staff who are always super sweet, friendly and helpful with recommendations / estimating good portion sizes / spreads to share.

Very delicious jackfruit roti, great healthy salad.

Partner and I went and tried all the vegan options available except the bowl (quile a lot of options). We couldn't believe how good this place does it. Every dish was just SO good (and we're picky when it comes to restaurants). Can't speak for meats and other stuff, but the vegetables they absolutely nailed. We had mushroom laab (incredible), salad, broccoli (which I learnt at Brother Thai can be a 10/10 dish), jackfruit "wrap" and tempeh "wrap". We couldn't even agree on which wrap was best. Staff were super nice and friendly, and it's very cozy inside.

This is a Gem 💎 Was taken for a Birthday Lunch 🩷 I'm now officially a Brother Thai Customer😱😱🥘🥦 The Staff are so nice and take great care of you ❤️ The Place is really cool and Decor and ambience Lovely - good Music too 🎶 🎶 But the Food ....... is immense 🤌🏼 Had Fried Chicken Satay with Rice, comes with a Thai Style Spoon also. Cocktails are also fab 🍹 - had a Coco Samui (Coconut Rum, Pineapple Liqueur and Lime 🍍) You must go, but books up quickly so plan ahead - very popular place. 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️

Very nice place Excellent tasty food, I had a rotis which was so full of flavour, very reasonable price, music a little loud, but good atmosphere. Just remember to take your cards as they don't take cash. Will definitely go again.

A really lovely place with delicious food - although if you don't like coriander best to let them know because there's a lot of it. Staff are all friendly and helpful, food was served in good time and was clearly fresh.

My first experience with brother Thai was having a sticky beef rotis when they were first doing street food before they opened up their premises and what a flavour experience it was. A few year on and I still find myself going back for there fantastic food. Some of the flavours may have slightly changed, but the food is still delicious. If it’s your first time, trying them, I would highly recommend the rotis!

Great food and service ….. the flavours were amazing. Seen some reviews about small portions, they weren’t and I eat a lot! Fair play, loved this place and will be coming back.

Had an absolutely fabulous lunch. The food came quickly and did not disappoint in anyway. A real flavour explosion and very cleverly put together and presented. At first glance you might think the menu a little limited but once you start making a selection you realise how it all fits together. Great value compared to high street franchise prices. If anything the menu is under priced and easily worth more. I would encourage them to add more extras, even if not on the menu. We would have all ordered some extra rice etc. I can’t wait to revisit and would encourage you all to walk through the door and wait for an explosion of flavours.

Unfortunately online shows they’re open until 22:30 but they actually close at 21:00 - will be back to try again but please amend your time! 😊

The restaurant was clean and staff were laid back but friendly and attentive. We didn’t book but there was a few tables available on a Saturday lunch time so we were sat right away. Service was very quick. I do like that the restaurant does a small amount of dishes and does them well, I still struggled to choose as it all looked lovely! Ordered a Thai fried chicken which was lovely and crispy yet moist chicken inside with Sriracha Mayo, my partner had the red chicken roti and Khua Kling both of which he said were delicious. I had the sticky spicy beef roti and I didn’t find it to have a lot of flavour. The beef was also a bit chewy. Although roti portions are small they do contain a lot of meat and the roti themselves are excellent. My partner was blown away by the food but I felt it was average and wouldn’t return in a hurry. Maybe it was personal preference and If I did return I would be willing to give other dishes a try. I would love if they did a fried chicken roti for these mains a beer two mocktails and a coconut ice cream it was just under £60.

This is my favourite Thai to eat outside of Thailand .Staff brilliant food superb highly recommend I can't wait to come back again and again

We are as a family last night, and all except my daughter, had roti’s and she had a rice bowl. The food was absolutely incredible, and we didn’t have to wait long. Fab cocktails, and just a lovely vibe at the restaurant. We are from Salisbury and had been visiting our son who is a student that lives locally. I would absolutely recommend!

Not bad but too salty which overwhelms the flavours

Exceptionally good food which is relatively inexpensive - we ate very well for £25 a head including a few drinks and a shared dessert. We had the spicy beef roti, side salad and fried Thai chicken which goes extremely well with the side salad. Bags of flavour and left very full and satisfied. Highly recommend (you almost certainly need to book reasonable well in advance as the place was packed on a Thurs night).

Brother Thai is one of the most consistently great finds in Cardiff. I have what is known as Baby Mouth, I can't eat hot or very spicy food yet the chef always makes sure no matter how busy they are that my food is still delicious but not spicy. The cocktails are very moreish so best to take an Uber. Service is always excellent and the wait team are just lovely. A firm family favourite.

The food was excellent, and I appreciate it is not easy for small businesses to make themselves viable. I had the £9 beef brisket roti, which is basically one small 🌮 taco. It was lovely but for the size, it was pretty expensive. A friend had the red curry & 🍚, which was spicy and very nice. Much better @ £13. Also had lovely broccoli stems @£6.... Between both, we spent £57 including a couple of drinks. Staff were very friendly and with a great atmosphere and customer mix.

Quite expensive. Roti £9 and rice bowl £12. Non alcoholic beer £4.50. Many people raved about this place in advance. And it had to be booked many days ahead. It's always busy. I must be missing something. The tables are close together. The wood style of the room a little cold. Food was ok , nothing brilliant and a rather limited menu. And they forced us to abide by the ( we were aware) time limit. Someone is doing well from this and maybe it is the best in the area, who knows ? But I eat out a lot on my travels and many do it better. Please go and let me know what you think.

I visited here on Sunday and the food here was just - WOW !! I had satay chicken rice bowl. it was the nicest meal I’ve had in a long time! the young lady serving us was very welcoming and friendly :) I cannot wait to come back!

I really enjoyed the food here, I didn't manage to get a table so was seated by the bar stools which would of been fine except people kept leaving the door open and it was freezing! Other than that the food was lovely, I guess atmosphere was good but didn't really fully get to immerse due to where we were sat. But because of the quality of the food and lovely waitress I would definitely recommend and return.

Having heard so much good things about this place, I had very high expectations before going. I'm so pleased to report that it did not disappoint. The food, beer & wine and service were off the scale. Highly recommended!

Firstly, let’s start with the greeting & cleanliness. The bloke who greeted us was polite and courteous, the restaurant was clean and tidy. This is where the positivity ends, I’m afraid. Within a minute or so of entering the restaurant and sitting at our table with the menu, we were ready to order and our order was promptly taken. Our drinks were brought to the table fairly quickly after ordering. After roughly 20 mins of waiting, the waiter came to us and told us that there was a technical issue with the rice cooker and our order would be another 15-20 mins, which was disappointing but ok, it is what it is. After 25 mins, no food has arrived, many more people had arrived at the restaurant by this time. We called the waiter and asked how much longer and he replied “about 5-10 minutes”. My wife was chomping at the bit to abort and leave at this point. 10 mins later, I am also getting impatient and thinking about paying for the drinks and cancelling the food. The waiter than came and apologised for the delay and gave us a free spicy waterfall salad for the inconvenience. Another 10 minutes later, our food started to arrive at the table, starting with the beef roti and then a few minutes later, the Khua Kling. The portions were very small for the high price tag, although it did taste ok and was freshly cooked. Although it was a little spicy, it wasn’t really as spicy as we like it, but didn’t want to ask for any changes and suffer further delays. This is a personal preference so not really the restaurants fault, spice levels are very subjective. Therefore, we just sucked it up and ate it as it came. I did find the spicy beef roti pretty tasty and the roti itself was nice and crispy. All in all, a pretty disappointing visit to Brother Thai, so this will be our first & last visit here unfortunately. If you’re looking for an authentic Thai meal at great prices, visit Apple’s Kitchen in Abercynon. Their Khua Kling is amazing and they have many other tasty Thai dishes to choose from. It is absolutely worth the trip, you certainly won’t be disappointed.

Didn't feel like I was visiting a Thai restaurant at all. The salad was just coriander with sugar on top. The Rotis meat was nice but again, a lot of coriander that ruined the whole meal. If you like coriander it's the place for you. Staff was friendly, the restaurant needs some interior decoration.

Had a definitely recommendable experience at Brother Thai. Between two people, we ordered quite a few dishes to share plus one of the rotis each, which I'll detail below: - Thai fried chicken: This tastes just like the traditional Hat Yai fried chicken, and I'm glad to see this on the menu! A few times I've ordered fried chicken at a Thai restaurant, and it'll just be a spicy fried chicken (which, don't get me wrong, is still great), but this was a very succulent, flavourful and slightly herby plate! - Khua kling: Another thing that I'm excited to see on the menu. Had a good level of spice, and the turmeric flavour came through well! I love how you can get somewhat homestyle stuff here alongside the streetfood. - Spicy waterfall salad: This is like a nam tok without the sliced beef, which may not sound great however alongside the heavier dishes, it was great to have something lighter and more leafy. Very herbaceous and flavourful. - Red curry chicken: This was the more streetfood style dish that we ordered on this menu, and kind of the USP of this place; I thought it was delicious, although perhaps it could have been a touch spicier. My friend also got the sticky, spicy beef roti, which I tried, and that was fantastic. Overall, make sure to give this place a try, although it is advised to book a table rather than walk-in!

Amazing food, can't wait to go back

Popped into Brother Thai for lunch on New Year's Eve. I was not disappointed with the food, it tasted as good as I remembered it did when we 1st had their food at a street food festival pop up. Service was great, food delicious and atmosphere was just the right amount of buzz about it without it being to loud that you had to shout at each other over the table. Would definitely be returning in the new year at some point.

If you share direct feedback/critique the owner will do his best to prove you wrong by watching your “experience” in his restaurant on CCTV. Was told that our experience was invalid in his eyes and we were in the wrong to even mention it. No apology/or kind words of reassurance on the owners behalf. Just a stern, creepy and defensive response with an extensively timed commentary on our visit-with notes and opinions made whilst he watched in house CCTV footage of us eating our meal. Super weird and upsetting especially after previously visiting the restaurant on a number of occasions and leaving such a positive review about the service and the food.

Would highly recommend Brother Thai. Lives up to reviews and recommendations. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and lovely staff who are friendly and helpful. Every dish that was suggested was delicious. Tasty cocktails too!😁

First time visiting Brother Thai and I was really happy with their service! Kudos to the team that served us! The food was really good! I ordered Pad Nuea, was spicy and to my liking! Ordered all the plates, Thai fried chicken, crispy mushroom larb and spicy waterfall salad. These were just average dishes. My friend ordered Thai fried satay chicken and liked it. It was sweet and flavourful 🙌 I definitely would go there again!

Great place for some 'proper' Thai flavours. Really enjoyed the food. Service was on point, just right. My son decided this was the best Thai food he had ever had! We will be back again.

I haven’t ever had Roti outside of Thailand and this is EXACTLY as it should be! So authentic. The beef roti is to die for ❤️ Everything tastes amazing. Small menu but it is completely satisfying. Busy on a Wednesday night for a good reason.

I discovered this place for the first time Really really enjoyed it. The food is really good and staff really friendly. The portions might look a bit small but they are really filling. Nice vegan choices. Dogs friendly in the garden Please come a try it, highly recommended
