Definitely a go to bakery for a cheeky desserts . Always a beautiful atmosphere here with very friendly staff and always clean. The cake portions are really good and very cheap.
Lovely food and good prices. Nice friendly atmosphere. Very much a community feel. The charity shop is next door too. Staff helpful and friendly..Would recommend.
A really nice diner with simple good food for a quick lunch. Excellent cheese and onion toasties with a mug of tea....just what we needed. And very smart toilets.
I had a special omelette it was good they made it without onion. I have reaction to this. Got coffee from next door spar good plus only one pound for coffee
Me and my husband had planned to meet a few friends at the Sun inn pub for a drink one day last week. All I can say is I was quite disappointed in the atmosphere I’ve been to the Sun inn before and it’s always been great fun! but this time round it was quite unpleasant a young girl (blonde hair, can’t be sure of her name) behind the bar quite rude to my husband when trying to order our drinks almost as if she didn’t have time to serve him our table hadn’t been cleared and was full of glasses to the point my friend Lorrie her husband started taking them to the bar of course this isn’t what bothered me but the young staff seemed to be more interested In going for smoke breaks to talk to their friends that were also drinking in the pub - quite disappointed
We wanted an informal pub dinner for a family catch up. Our intended place was booked out for a function. A friend recommended the Gladstone Hotel at Newbridge which is in the middle of nowhere but well worth our drive. A real find of a country pub. Food was excellent, service was good and the wait times were short. Can strongly recommend this little pub for an informal but excellent dinner.
We went for a family lunch, there was 7 people.
We arrived at 12.30 pm , ordered our food and it finally arrived at 1.50 pm .
People came in after us and had their food served before us
SHOCKING.
We had to ask 3 times where was our food
Had a kebab for my partner and a chocolate cake with ice cream for myself.
The waiting time was hardly anything , brilliant , and even when arrived the ice cream hadn’t melted what’s so ever , cake was still warm and food warm also.
But the kabab was quite dry like it had been under the lamp for too long.
My cake was awful sadly , I could tell it was a lovely cake but the cake almost tasted like it had been microwaved , as in it went quite dry and sharp and the chocolate sauce had gone hard where it had maybe bubbled from being microwaved too long ? I’m unsure.
The ice cream was fab , really nice , just the cake was a shame and the kebab meat , the salad on the kebab was lovely and fresh though 🤗
The drink and atmosphere wasn't too bad, and they accepted card payments which is good. Prices not unreasonable. Live sports.
Negatives were the food.. It was very basic and comprised of your selection plus a pile of soggy chips which seemed like they had been re cooked. No sign of any veg whatsoever. I ordered a burger and it was literally burger plus chips. Not a place you should eat at imo.
Also, potentially out of their control (but many bars do give free credits to "regulars" to get some tunes on) but a regular put on about 25 songs on the jukebox the moment it was turned on! So glad I clocked him doing that as I was going to stay and put on a few songs of my own. In the end we decided to leave earlier than planned and booted the tunes up on YouTube at home. Bit of a shame really.
