We are regular customers at the other Gerrards located on Queen’s Square but unfortunately it was busy so we decided to try this branch on lord street. What a mistake that was! I’ve never been to such a filthy eatery in my life! The staff were rude and unhelpful. There was a dog which was clearly not a guide or assistance dog, lying on the floor by its owner next to a poo bag full of dog poo! The sheer stench of that combined with wet dog was enough to make us want to leave without even finishing our lunch as by that time we had completely lost our appetites. I will be taking this further and reporting it to EHO. There is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness as the other branch is kept so clean and welcoming.

Just had the misfortune of ordering an espresso coffee here, absolutely awful with service to match, the type of staff who make you feel you are interrupting their conversation about last nights TV - and the cost !! £2.50 for an awful coffee when the local Portuguese cafe in Lord Street make the most wonderful coffee for £1.00 ! ... I’ll not make the mistake of visiting Gerrards again !!

The staff including the manageress stood and looked on , till we cleared a table for ourselves. They reluctantly took the dishes over the counter. They then stepped back, and looked as we waited to be served. We were treated with curtness. The coffee arrived eventually, as did the cake....neither was that nice. We sat and watched as they fell over themselves to serve a local workman. It was obvious who fitted their opinion of a suitable customer. As a non local Welsh speaker I was embarrassed to have taken someone there. You'll find me in Nero's or Gregg's next door , next time I fancy a decent coffee and a sticky buns.... Xenophobia and homophobia are just not acceptable in this day and age.

We visited this coffee and bakery cafe and wasn’t impressed at all, after waiting 20 minutes for a simple sausage roll and a pot of tea to arrive we was informed that the sausage rolls will take another 20 minutes or more, we then asked for a cheese and onion pastie to be told they had none so we chose a sausage and baked bean pastie which when arrived was dry and mainly all pastry with very little sausage or beans Would we return, definitely not

I call in here everyday for something for lunch love the staff in this shop always happy and friendly,so different from the shop on Park Avenue due to having to work in that area for a few weeks I had to use that shop and what a very rude and unhelpful lady runs it,sighing and pulling her face while I was deciding what to order although the shop had no other customers, couldn’t believe that two shops owned by same firm could offer such a difference in service.Well done Lord street .

We call here most Tuesdays for a hot drink and refuelling snack. Staff - lovely service; Food - hot sausages on brown buttered bap (usually, and this time) or brown wholemeal doorstep toast. A huge choice of confectionary (my wife's preference) - so definitely the place-of-chooice for us in Wrexham. Don't miss the sausages!!!

Never used the cafeteria but the "cakes to go" are excellent quality and value. The Belgian buns and vanilla slices are our favourites,

They offer a bit more variety than Gregg's, and more unusual pies and pasties which is nice to see. The food is well priced yet nice tasting, and is great if you just want to grab a quick sausage roll etc.
