The best restaurants in North Wales

Amazing restaurant. From the moment we walked in , it felt special. Great decor and atmosphere. The food was incredible and beautifully presented. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Cannot fault any part of this experience. Definitely recommend

First visit to proper gander in tywyn. Not very impressed too be honest. The menu needs a bit more excitement. Firstly the starter I had was a mackerel fillet. It came as mackerel mush with whole peppercorns inside. So was tough to eat. It does not say on the menu that it was going to be pureed etc... Secondly I had a rib eye steak. The steak had a lot of inedible fat. I love a rib eye and choose this option whenever I have a steak so I understand that there is fat running through. But when you have to spit out big chunks it makes the experience disappointing. Especially when it's £30. Finally my wife sicked up her food as soon as she got back to the caravan. She had pasta and chorizo croquettes. We paid full price and didn't mention anything when we were there as the place was empty and times are hard but had to leave a review as it needs a shake up too be honest. Bill came to £105. Revisited as had a super meal here three years ago. Unfortunately, left disappointed. The Persian prawns were good, but the other couple of tapas dishes were not. The Sea Bass was under cooked. The customer service was fine, and the cost of the Sea Bass was removed from the bill.

Extortionate for what it is, food was average, portions small. £16 for a bit of crab on a crumpet. Service was really good, but no atmosphere.

Having first stayed as a child and returned many times over the years the Empire Hotel is one of my favourite places on Earth! Consistantly excellent and friendly with a feel of the luxurious. I have nothing other than praise for you all there! If there were a 6 star option in these ratings I would gladly give it. We have friends we recommended who also return again and again. A place of memories and pleasure with class. This is the Hotel you were looking for, look no further!

This small cafe caught our eye as it advertised savoury crepes, and lots of them. We sat outside on a chilly February lunchtime in the sun and perused the myriad of fillings. I chose pear, fig and blue cheese. The sweet pancake arrived covered in pear, with some deliciously squishy figs and a few walnut sprinkles. And the tiniest 4 smidges of blue cheese (not even a teaspoon worth). Overall the pancake was tasty, but really needed a proper helping of cheese to give it a balanced flavour; as it was, it was just a pear (sweet) pancake really. Prices are reasonable and the young servers were friendly and efficient.

Called by on our way back from North Wales. We took a chance based on the google reviews alone and were not disappointed. Clean friendly and great food.

Best Fish & Chips! And best Mushy Peas in all of UK. This place has a great variety on the menu! I have a gluten free diet & eat no red meat. They were so kind to grill a quarter of a chicken for me, to meet my dietary restrictions. Mostly they serve take out, but we ate on the bench out front. Great food & people!

Fantastic friendly service, great breakfast - full veg and Welsh, amazing milkshakes, great value for money. Homemade cakes were not to be missed!

Being able to sit outside on a lovely sunny morning was a huge bonus. The food was good , but having to wait an hour for something off the breakfast menu to arrive was far too excessive and took the shine off the whole experience. A shame really, as this has probably put us off returning.

Wow what a find. We went back thereafter a castle visit. Had a lovely hearty Welsh stew and I had crumble and hubby had choc cake and custard. Milk shakes too. Karen and team v v welcoming and made a pair of holiday makers v happy. If you like a good homecooked meal go give them a try. GF options excellent too

Great food/ drinks with many choices and very good customer service! "Dogs are welcomed" notice at the entrance, which is good to see! Nice to sit in the outside, sheltered area overlooking the train station! 👍

Been here a couple of times now since we moved not far away. The first time it was insanely busy and full of kids inside and outside messing around so we had to wait ages just to be served and then ages to receive our food. As I said it was rammed so the wait was kind of understandable but then almost lost all our food on the floor due to the kids waiting outside messing around.To be fair the food was nice and seemed better ingredients than the usual pizza shops. The second time we visited was the other day and we got there half an hour before it opened and already there were loads of kids outside messing around and swearing quite a lot in front of our little boy which really did bother me as my partner was stood right next to them by the door. About 5 minutes before it opened the staff all appeared out of the window hatch to have selfies with the kids who were messing around. I understand that the shop is now "TIK TOK" famous but they could have said "calm down a bit first and then we do the selfies". Didn't have to wait as long as before for the food but was also a bit unimpressed that the show and dance that they put on to the kids there for selfies was completely different to how my partner and son was served. It was like our custom Didn't matter as much.we ordered 2 pizzas and one came first and had to wait for the other at the window hatch. This time the food was rubbish too! The pizza we had to wait for was barely cooked and even had to reheat it at home to finish it. All in all if I'm honest, unless you are a "TIK TOK CRAZED ADOLESCENT" this is definitely not the place for you. I think they need a much bigger shop and to probably get a lot more control over what happens in and around the shop and maybe it could be suited to all. In my honest opinion I think it's only rated so highly because the kids all want to be on TIK TOK and they let them have freebies occasionally.
